Why does this Notchback deserve the S badge?

You know how it works. I had some money burning a hole in my pocket.
This was one of those items I just had to put on this car.
Why does it deserve to rock the S badge? Watch and I'll show you why.

I was pleased with it, for a relatively small amount of effort. I know there are better processes out there than what I know for meta polishing. I need to hunt that down soon!

At an earlier time in my life I had great affection for VW's. Have owned several beetles, a couple of 411's and spend time with a friends notchback and karman ghia. Blast from the past.

Have you used Never Dull on this channel before!? I feel like Ive seen it before on a VW channel! Good stuff my man!!! My S badge needs the black paint added! The “no badge” trim you had on it is from a later type 3, like my 66 Fastback would have.

I thought you were in for an easy, straight forward job when I saw all the holes were lined up.
As usual, nothing turns out that way. Looked good in the end though.

You and me, both! All things considered, it was relatively simple. It’s always fun to figure out the little quirks. Now I just need to figure out if it’s expected to need to release the housing from the deck lid to get that lens in place 🤡
