    I’ve had a 60” Gravely 260Z for over 20 trouble free years. It rides smooth and does a great job. I mow 4 acres here in the Missouri Ozark’s weekly. I change the oil, oil filter, air filter every year and sharpen the blades once or twice a year. I’ve changed the hydraulic oil once. The heavy steel construction is bulletproof. I like the extra hydraulic features your Grasshopper has.
    Let me know how well yours is still running in 20 years. I may be 100 then and my Gravely will probably still be going even if I won’t.

    My husband bought a Grasshopper about 17 yrs ago. He loves it. Just about everytime he mows he will say " Have I told you I love this mower?" If that Grasshopper could cook, I think he may kick me out...lol. In all the years we have had to do very little to it except, regular maintenance. Before I mowed our yard which took 2 1/2 hr and he used the tractor to mow the fields which took about 3 1/2 hr. Now he mows everything, yard & fields in 3 to 3 1/2 hr. Ours is a 52". He told our neighbor about how great they are.. He bought one 62" They are built to last. My husband is 80 yrs old and says he feels good when he is done. He has had a bad back since he was quite young. All the other mowers caused his back to hurt.

    Absolutely fantastic! Grasshopper has made a great product for many years and is well known for longevity/reliability. A no brainer really if you need something bigger than what you already had and wanted the front deck option. Since you were talking about the fuel efficiency (which diesels are way more efficient than a gas model) I have a request next time you do a days worth of mowing: Please dipstick the tank and get a full mark and then dip it again around the 3/4 and 1/2 mark. Reason being is my experience with these and other diesel mowers/tractors is it seems like you can work forever from full down 1/2 tank but after 1/2 it seems to burn through it and get to empty real quick. We all know the motor doesn’t burn fuel below 1/2 tank then it does above 1/2 tank so the only explanation is most of the fuel gauges are biased towards the full side. That also makes sense b/c when they show “full” you can always add another gallon or two to the tank.
    Regardless, congrats on the new mower, you and Tiffany are going to love it!

    VERY NICE mower. A little over 20 years ago I bought a Grasshopper 618 with a 52 inch front deck. Hydraulics were not available then. My machine has always been housed inside and it still works like new. Once I had a flat on one of the drive tires. I found it impossible to jack up the machine because there is not enough clearance under the axle. I also could not jack it up either in front of or behind the axle because only that respective part of the machine would lift, not the axle. I made a lifting device for my mower which works excellent. I will not describe it here unless there is interest. When you make additional videos about your machine, I would like to see you address getting the machines weight off of a drive tire so that it can be removed. Also, if where the flat occurs is a long distance from the shed, details of jacking it up in the field. Thanks for all of your interesting videos. I came over because of Daniel Arms shoutout.

    I'm highly impressed by Grasshopper and would like to convert my lawncare business to front mounts and do youtube to show the benefits of a front mount Grasshopper. I think it's a missed niche. It can do more than a Walker or an Exmark Navigator, but is built twice as tough. Front mounts might not make a ton of sense for a large landscape company, but they make sense to me as a solo owner operator. Unfortunately it's currently out of my price range so I'm going to look at buying used.

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Agreed on all points. It's got its benefits for stability, smoothness and mowing under limbs. Not to mention quick blade changes while out in the job. They do take up a little more room, but the deck can be lifted while on the trailer taking up less room. If I had a mowing business (I use to), I'd have one mid mount and one front deck on the trailer.

I think it makes my over 2 acre front yard look the best it has ever looked. That's when I cut the grass when it's suppose to be cut. • @TKCL
      @TKCL  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Correct, I mentioned that in the video. I also got their radiator clean out tool, it's awesome. Are you running the chute deflector? Some people remove those and what I hear is that helps blow clippings back up towards the engine. I mowed for a few hours and the screen still had plenty of open space. I'll for sure always clean it after every mowing session.

    • @johnboyd6139
      @johnboyd6139 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @TKCL good question. Mine is actually rear discharge/mulching now. I have the side discharge option and tried it with no real difference. I have a 70 gallon tank in my truck. I'm considering building a 120 or 250 gallon tank if I can find a delivery service.

    I had a horrible experience with grasshopper. I purchased a 735 with a 72 inch mower deck. I couldn’t mow tall or thick grass without bogging down terribly bad. It was so bad we had to put a flail mower on it which works decent. Grasshopper was so bad during the whole ordeal the dealer I purchased the mower from quit carrying them.
    I caution everyone about grasshopper. If everything if fine they are probably a good company. The second things go sideways they are horrible. And that’s the true test of a company. His are they when things are bad. Grasshopper failed.

      None, staying 25hp and under eliminates that. You still get all the torque having the larger displacement engine.

      You can pick one up cheaper than that. Not to mention their 7 series line is awesome and thousands cheaper.

    I never use water on my mowers.

      How do you clean and wash your mower? It's perfectly safe as long as you wait for everything to cool down. Your mower experiences a lot of moisture and water as you mow.
