      They are a great use of small pieces and a fun little project that sells easily!

    Great job Chase. I wish I had gotten the opportunity to see Rude make these. If I remember correctly, he did these to keep his skew skill honed. You did a very good job with this.

      Thanks Doug! I've been doing a bit of skew practice off camera again recently to bring my skills back into practice.

      I was able to take a weekend class with Rudy at his home in Berra , ky. In the early 90s. He turned a candlestick for us and said he had made thousands of them in various woods and heights each in about 15 minutes to put his kids through school.
      I was lucky enough to spot two of his originals in a small shop in Québec city in about 2015. Cost $100. I knew they were old because the wood was ordinary, medium dark with a urethane oil finish and felt on the bottom. His wife put on the felt.
      It was very early in my wood turning and he was such a kind and gentle teacher. I could not control a gouge so the taught me scrappers, skew and roughing gouge. In the end I had my first very nice finished piece. I still have my notes, the finished piece and now also two candlesticks. Makes me feel good.

      Lutz, FL. Tri County turners. Rudy gave us a live edge goblet.
      As a beginner, I did not realize what a gift of seeing him in action.
      Very enjoyable watching him, meeting g his wife. Live in Fl now.

    Thanks for doing videos with carbide tools. It's so helpful seeing how you turn, which tools you use, what angles you hold them, etc.

    Very nice, and as a beginner appreciate your teachings. May I ask what brand of carbide tools you are using?
    Thank you.

    Very nice. What is the price tag for that item? I’ve made similar and given the majority as gifts.

    • @WegeWoodWorks
      @WegeWoodWorks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! The price really all depends on location and how saturated your market is with similar items. For me they do quite qell in a range of sizes from 4in to 8in.
