As I am behind almost an entire year, I will imagine that someone has already suggested that you buy a neck light for knitting with dark yarn. I have multiple Lumos neck lights. They have different settings for different situations. One of them is specifically for dark yarn. The Lumos neck light has also become a replacement for flashlights during a power outage, as both of your hands are still free. I am enjoying your podcast so much, thank you for sharing your world with all of us!
That's a great idea! I used to have one (cheapie off-brand) and it died a little while ago. Might be time to invest in a new one. Thanks so much for your lovely comments. x

it is amazing how much you get done.....love your inspiration. You helped me with my first Musselburgh hat! thank you and I found a great row counter from Twice Sheared Sheep....it is numbered link that I use at the start of row and change the number as I start another row...easy peasy - Love it!
Thanks so much Mary. You know what - i think i have a row counter like that but it doesnt have numbers on it. You have to count the links. I am a big believer in doing whatever i can to reduce my cognitive load so i think i will look into getting one of the ones you described. :)
I have a very old little row counter of that type that was designed to push onto the needle which has long lost its ability to grab a needle but counts well, being not too loose or too tight to turn the numbers. I like it having turned it into a BOR marker. You could easily tie a bit of string to your row counter to connect it to a ring and use it like a stitch marker for beginning of round too.
That's a good idea. Thank you for the tip. I will do that for sure. That will definitely help me keep track of both my rows and the counter that is counting my rows. ;)
@@mostlyknitting Mine is sitting on a lightweight plastic bead so it hangs straight. It is a handy BOR marker :)
Today I have been taking a few hours to continue the reorganization of my huge stash, (working on bin number 3 currently) while watching your podcasts. I understand how frustrating this moment is when a few of your wips have some thinking through to have done and some ripping back....I am always ripping back and redoing for one reason or another, because I modify a lot and am constantly trying to learn and make things better....the Felix pullover is such a lovely color. take care 🌸🌸🌺

@@mostlyknitting I have a ridiculously huge stash I am ashamed of, also because I am not a fast knitter... and am not buying any more yarn until it becomes manageable, in the meantime I am on a mission to try to have it really organized so it helps me to "shop" in it for future projects...

Hello from Canada. I appreciate your detail to the modifications you make and your ideas about corrections you are thinking of making.
I’ve knit the cumulus in a cotton wool blend from Wool Addicts and also got puckering at the neck with a similar pickup ratio. And luckily the puckering eased out gentle blocking. Maybe block before you rip back and see what happens to the neckline.
I’m also in a week of a lot of frogging🤷🏼♀️

Tash, I'm sorry you've had problems with your Sorrel and your Cumulus Tee. I hope you are able to fix both of them so they are satisfying again. I appreciate your sharing these travails....and I so relate! When a knitter as accomplished as you are hits these bumps, it consoles me with mine. I'm stopped at the moment on my Corran cardigan because I think it might be too small....it's bottom-up and when I joined the shoulders with a 3-needle bind-off and tried it on....oh dear....I felt a bit sad, as you said. I may try to block it in this unfinished state and see if that will work...otherwise it is frogging and starting over. Your Felix is gorgeous and I'm sure Mia will love it. Happy travels!

I'm going to be at the Bendigo sheep and wool festival too. It's my first time and I'm really looking forward to it.
I'm trying to go there with a shopping list and be specific about what I purchase. I'm thinking 1x jumper quantity in a DK or worsted, 1x shawl quantity in fingering, 1x single skein of something super soft for a cowl, and 3x sock yarns.
I'm already anticipating going a bit overboard 🫣

If things aren’t quite right, I’m all for ripping back or frogging…a great saver of time, energy, stress, satisfaction in the long run I reckon. Speaking from experience! 😀 I’m currently going through…slowly! 🙂…some older knit jumpers that I’m not really wearing for whatever reason and deciding whether they can be fixed or frogged(if the yarn is worth saving) A bit like your wip basket. One issue I’m having at the moment is too much fabric in the upper chest of round yoke colourwork jumpers. What to do, what to do…Why didn’t I notice it at the time! 😝

Hi Tash, your black cami you can just graft as usual as there isn’t much stretch on those stitches that you’re grafting. I’ve knit quite a few camisole tops and I’ve always kitchenered (ha ha is that a word?!) them together without issue. I would wash the straps pull the crap out of them and let them hang for a while pinned together on a hanger first so you get your finished length, I learnt that lesson the hard way. I’ve used Judys Magic Cast On to go in two different directions before it’s super quick and easy once you get going. Top down is always so much easier that way you can work out exactly where the armhole needs to be. It’s why I sometimes like finished edges because you can always pull things in where needed 😑
Good call with your Sorrel. It’s too pretty just to leave that section in, it will be worth the effort, that’s my opinion anyway 😂🤣
Row counting what I sometimes do is place 2 markers, one could be beginning of round and then every time I knit a row (or start) I move the second marker a stitch to the left each time, I just use a plain simple round marker, when I get to it flip it off and onto my finger carefully while I knit one stitch place it back on and keep knitting that way it doesn’t really stop me, just slows me down for a second. The other thing I used just recently was a digital counter that sits on your finger and I could just hit the button every time I started a new row, that was pretty cool when I really need to count. The Sophie scarf when 8 rows were up boom no issue.
OMG your cumulus, I’m feeling for you. I always pick up a stitch in every row when I do an icord edge and if I need to decrease I will knit three together instead of 2 together as that way it cinches it in but it doesn’t leave a hole. The other thing is when you wash the fabric the buckling my settle into place 😑
We live right at the beach, just some trees in front of our house and they are whales most days. It’s magical, they get so close some days that the surfers can get really close to them. The other day one guy was about 4m away, we get dolphins from time to time too.

I hope i like it enough to make another. I will definitely give that strap a good going over and I love the idea of hanging it with the weight on it before finishing it off.
I will definitely give blocking Cumulus a try to see if it fixes the holes and the puckering. You never know and it cant hurt to try.
And yes, poor Sorrel. I will rip back those rows tonight as I just want to get back to forward motion on it.

Love the sorrel but I agree it kind of looks like the sorrel has birthmarks on it . I’d rip it back .

For your ranunculus how much positive ease do you have in your size? I heard one lady say she has about 17 inches?
With the purple one i am making now, it is coming out at 42" which is 10" positive ease for me. The size listed on the pattern is 46" which would have been 14" positive ease. Even the 10" is a fair bit. My orange and green ones are about 40" so 8" of positive ease. They are so lightweight and drapey that it doesnt seem that much. Hope that helps. :)

What a shame ur having problems with some knits I knit in pieces but maybe just luck but never have problems just luck6 but have been knitting for about 65 years but still learning
