Take a good look, my friend. Years of evolution, culture, civilization, great intellect, wonders of nature. BAM!! Wiped out in one, single impact... One...
You never were the good guy though . You just assume you were, when if fact, you were the antagonist all along. Think of this game though the bosses' perspective. You are truly evil to them.
Devious Raptor I know. It just seems that this boss is where you really realize that your character has done something bad. Or at least, to me it seems that way
My girlfriend gifted me this game because she loved it, and she just watched me play it so I could experience it and figure out what was going on. It was at this boss I realized I really shouldn't be doing this, and that maybe it was a terrible idea to be killing all these people. I realized I was the bad guy, here.
I think it's because (kind of speculation here) it's suggested that the corruption that you spread on the planet is the same corruption that infected him, made him into the monster he now is somehow. He is a mirror of your corrupting influence on the creatures of his world.
I really like the atmosphere that this song, and the boss song for this area have. Has a really echoey and bassey sound, in my brain it just means underwater, or underground.
Song: "So, who next?" Architect: "Oh, don't worry. I've got just the man for the job. Well, he was once a man, at least. Warped and corrupted by the stranger's own evil." Hand: "A taste of his own medicine. I like it." Edge: "Let's hope he is not too corrupted to fight." Chain: "Ha ha ha! My friend, there is no such thing!"
@@edgepixel8467 Oh, there's noting to it. Pick a scenario for a couple characters and write it out, simple as that. It's the starting point for writing any kind of fanfiction.
One of my favorite things about this piece is seeing how many different songs, vibes, and games it reminds other people of, and how while they're quite varied, all of them do share a mood. Personally for me it evokes a very strong feeling of the town musics in Sonny and moreso Sonny 2, with that grungy synth pulsing under sustained notes to fill the chord
I just bought a new headset, and I knew I HAD TO listen to this music. While the earplugs I had before gave the base as a short "Thum" , with this headset the base echoed in my thorax cavity as a deep, long "THUUUUUUUUUuuuumm". I just used this song to benchmark my headset XD.
I agree I got to the game from a vid game music collection, then saw some ingame footage then a friend convinced me to buy it - but the minute I saw Carpenter Brut and Lorn produced music was in the game I said hell yes!
I dunno, I liked the Scale the most. I can't describe why, but his edgy lines in combination with this dark area, dimly glowing lights and the fact you fight on water mixed together just make this fight stand out for me. I just wish there was more of an explanation to his lore, why does he hate rider with a passion? It's obvious Scale is on edge, so much so that you can't really tell if he is insane or just so mad at rider that he loses it temporarily just by looking at him. Furi 2 would be great, but leaving it a mystery would fit. I'd just love to know his background, who did Rider kill to deserve his unending hatred? His daughter / Son / Wife / Friends? Whatever it is, it must have been traumatizing a f. Rest i peace, Scale. (also can someone please explain to me how they are fighting on water? when the scale dies [T.T] he sinks into the abyss, my question is, how do they stand on water? mastered putting chakra directly to their feet? :D)
(Spoiler!) The main theory is that Rider (the players character) corrupted the Scale when he landed on the planet from the mothership. There is evidence for this after the credits when you see Riders true nature and also from the lines of the Voice before this bossfight.
Oh fuck me I sat here for 10 mins and I just realized what the voice meant by everything gone in 1 impact -----SPOILER----- After the final boss (before the star) your on the free world and ground and everything around you corrupts and if you choose the bad ending you see all these other Riders invading but because he said one impact, that one impact was you when you landing on the free world from the star and you defiantly may of landed near wherever the Scale lived and he got fucked up and so he wants revenge.
The bass of the song makes me feel like there's an earthquake, it genuinely feels like my surroundings are moving. Maybe my headphones are better than they should
@@oniichandame48 I feel he's taking a shot in the dark in regards to that statement. Gotta say though, bringing night-vision goggles along was an impressive piece of foresight on his part...
@@oniichandame48 See how withered (yes, the blue coloration is meant to convey that) the grass is in the video? That's the same grass you see in the Scale's area and credits. The Rider has some sort of decaying aura around him that causes everything near him to wither away. You can see this happening to the grass around you during the credits sequence prior to the mothership fight. It's not far-fetched to say that the same aura of decay would affect living beings such as humans/whatever the Scale once was.
Whenever I see this song I envision a camera slowly panning to a view of a realistic interstellar spacecraft, with two rings for creating spin gravity, its front shield cratered from high speed collisions with interstellar dust. Its crew are the furthest away from humanity in history, and are about to begin their survey expedition on the first exoplanet orbiting around proxima centauri
If you've completed the game you'll know that Rider (the main character) was sent to this planet to see if it should be destroyed, upon entering the planet he landed is some kind of pod that sent a huge burst of radiation around it, The Scale got a heavy dose of it and went crazy as a result
Take a good look, my friend. Years of evolution, culture, civilization, great intellect, wonders of nature.

One...
That line gave me chils 🥶
When the voice guy randomly screams "Bam" it cracks me up everytime.
Lol it scared the sh*t outta me the first time
around what time does that happen?
+Swooce it's on the actual cutscene from the game when you're walking to the boss.
Try the Japanese version
I loved the French voice for "Bam" it sounded like "B o m"

Lorn is featured in soundtrack.
Welp, I guess I need to buy this game now.
sameeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
how did it go?

I've beaten the game 4 times and gotten all endings, and this ONE line still makes no sense. I guess he really is mad huh?

Check out Lorn - Acid Rain
haaha no man serious bass is in Lorn - Batty's Theme. That was also the first song I ever heard from Lorn and still the best.
Exactly
It has some similarities to the Subnautica theme, maybe that is what you connect with underwater?^^
Song: "So, who next?"

This track is super cool- it's a departure from the rest of the game's OST, so it's not as appreciated, but I still really enjoy it.
Smitteys86 it's just a new lorn song to me so I'm really happy
LORN.
There is no other artist quite like lorn
Dolor is probably the closest artist I've personally heard, but I mean he collaborated with Lorn so it makes sense.
the bass at the end through my earphones literally wobbled my bed, no joke.

Just Lorn. He's so good.
"Just some hope, you know, that i could fix this, fix him, so my plan would be flawless."
"But i never found a thing."
The begining reminds of some of the hyper light drifter soundtracks
This reminds me of the Antibirth soundtrack, especially the music for the Corpse floor
LORN MADE MUSIC FOR OEN OF MY FAVORITE GAMES AWHASHAHSHASH
I had a feeling this one was made by Lorn!!! :P

Reminds me of Metroid prime Echoes. Torvus Bog or sthing
The drums are reminiscent of the first few areas on Aether.
Reminds me of Infinity blade.
