- After three years, it is finally here and the low-poly demon that has tormented me is put to rest. Most of that time was spent wishing I had the tools, and the knowledge of using those tools, to properly piece together the idea in my head for this mix.
Well, I made the choice to go to college and study audio engineering and production, which while I was there I picked up a copy of Pro Tools. So finally, when tools met ideas, the work could begin. Most of the work on Bernard was done on-again-off-again over the past few months, but I really cracked down hard in the past week.
But I didn't do all of this on my own, no. The video editing and portraits were done by my very talented fiancée, Katu-Jan.

Anyways, all of the music here is copyrighted by the artists' respective labels, but most of it goes to the Game Bakers themselves. Demonetize this video, but just like the others I hope that's all that happens. This was purely a passion project and I have no desire to monetize in any way, shape, or form from this video.
Additionally, I plan on uploading a version of the mix without the vocal samples as I'm sure at least one person will want such a thing, but that will take another day or two due to the time it takes to render a video of this size.
To the Furi/Game Bakers community: I thank you for your persistence and interest in the project. Originally, I started the project way back when because I personally wanted to have all of the music in one singular video. Looking back, there are many ways it can be improved, but I wanted it done. To know that people appreciate what I did, despite the flaws I came to notice, was very encouraging. So much so that it has pushed me to finish my studies and continue delving into music, that one day I may create music from my own instead of making my image from others'.
Lastly, to the Game Bakers: I want to thank you for the wonderful experience I, and many others in the community, have had from your games and interactions through Discord. My interest in your games started from the music, but I know there's so much more to your works than the musicians. Every member of your team is talented and dedicated, and it shows in your games for sure. The anticipation I have for Haven is palpable, and I cannot wait to buy it day 1 and play through it with Katu.
This was all a wonderful learning experience, but there's always more to learn - more techniques to develop and hone. Without this project, I don't think I'd be pursuing the study of music as I wouldn't have had a stepping off point. Regardless, thanks again to everyone who stuck around.

I wondered what the faint voices were towards the end of the Song’s bit and then I realized it was the distance countdown from the Burst’s walk

At the house party:
The Chain is getting punched by The Song
The Strap is completely smashed and revealing herself to be a VERY angry drunk
The Line is reminding people to drink water after they've already passed out
The Scale is playing with a knife in the corner and it's making everyone uncomfortable, but not uncomfortable enough to do anything about it
The Hand thought it would be a good idea to bring his baby and is glaring at anyone swearing, which is mostly everyone
The Song is getting called a whore by The Chain
The Burst is looking for more people to beat at beer pong
The Edge stayed home to watch anime
The Beat is very close to having a nervous breakdown because she just wants everyone to get along at it's not happening
The Star lives next door and is preparing to call the cops

Imma be real with you. Not only that this is straight up fire, but the voicelines make it SO MUCH MORE INTENSE. The Edge's segment is so good, I want it as a separate upload. Thank you for the beatiful work you have done in your arrangements, they bring me many hours of enjoyment.

I'm not sure if I'm the first to realize this, but the counting during the end of The Burst's segment was in time with her attack cycle in melee combat.
You are the second person to notice, but I love seeing comments of people pointing out the little details. Reminds me of how much work I put into this, and that it pays off!
At 27:36, when The Burst is counting, did you added her counting as a reference to how many hits she will do in this part of this fight? Like, first a 4 hit combo, the 1 hit and then on? Because I kinda remember myself counting her hits to memorize her pattern... Thought I might be wrong.

you’ve really done more for this game’s ost than anyone ever really could’ve.. asked for, honestly. It’s always cool seeing a passion project being seen out through it’s entirety, grats on the college/fiancee and everything else. Ok, after having listened to this repeatedly I can say that this is a mix that gets better the longer you listen to it, compared to something like danger:8:02 complete arrangement which has the most impact the first time you hear it
Maybe it's because I know what will come, especially for the transitions

Edit: the anticipation is probably important because you know that there will be a change of pace, so it doesn't seem so abrupt

Bernard was born into a world that didn't make any sense, starting off as a single grey shape in a landscape resembling a disc. Days went by, It might've even been weeks, and nothing happened nothing but the eerie silence of what isn't there. It was long before Bernard learned they were in the center of this world, its focus. Its stillness, Months went by without a single thought passing by; but then Bernard had their first realization. They levitated, and went back down again. This was when Bernard realized they weren't trapped in a still prison in where nothing happened, where all Bernard realized that this wasn't a prison. That they were a god, and could shape the world to their liking. From a single grey block, they cloned themself. It was slow at first, but Bernard gained sight, hearing, feeling. Thinking. Bernard gave themselves a body, this world was theirs. They looked outside, and they saw a story about a prison, and guards lining up to stop a invincible force, a sword and a plasma pistol. Cutting through one after another, Through these Battles Bernard finally had a reference, something to hone their godlike craftsmanship on, they took the talents of everyone before them and perfected it. Make it stronger, until Bernard was strong. Until they had powers above all they had witnessed. The strength and control of them all, they were perfect, so perfect.
When the rider finally walks into their realm of stillness, their self given meaning would be realized. With the perfect strength of a god, and the power to create and apply; Bernard wondered if there was anything more than the void they found themself in, but as hard as they tried to think of an exit. To see beyond the still, grey void; they couldn't.
It was not long before Bernard felt what was keeping them there, it was the riders own existence that shaped the void around them, and all they had to do was rid of the rider. The perfect craft they've given themself, the absolute talent in combat now had a use.
They were ready.
Bernard was more than ready.
They'd bring the Rider to its absolute limit, and find what's beyond the reflections of a greater world and the stillness of the void.

I just noticed something neat about the boss lineup for Furi at 39:11. There are 9 jailer bosses in the game, and each row of them during that segment follows a sort of pattern in their characters.
You have the killer jailers in the first column, these people either don’t care about you or hate you outright, and are just there to destroy you, and make you feel like you’re in the right for wanting to escape.
In the second column are the pitiful jailers, these people you might pity because of the reasons they’re here, or in the case of the Edge, you respect his dedication to stopping you.
And in the last column you have the reasonable jailers, these ones make you feel bad for having to fight them and even worse for having to kill them. They don’t want violence, they want to reason with you, but in the end they have to do what they must.
Cool sneaky pattern to mix up each boss!

Man nobody is talking about that mix you did for the second half of the star. I had to go back and listen to the originals again to make sure that wasn't in the game.
It’s why I intentionally didn’t put many voice lines during that whole section. I wanted to showcase that.

I was just wondering, is there any possibility of having captions for all the dialogue? I know the music is the main focus of this arrangement, but I really appreciate all the work you put into this mix, and don't want to miss any of the character dialogue you have mixed in throughout.
I don't know how to use TH-cam's captioning system, and IIRC they're getting removed anyways or something? That's a neat idea though
@@confusedTurtle_ Community Captioning is what you're thinking of, and was removed back in September, otherwise I'd offer to caption the entire thing myself. However, as things things stand you're the only one who can add captions to the video.

I quite enjoyed the mix, although the dialogue got a bit much once you got to the beat, esp the random laughter felt really out of place. Can't wait to hear the dialogue free version.
This Mix gives the vibe that Bernard was the Training Program used by the Guradians (Minus the Strap) to get them to improve, however when Rider entered into the Sim, Bernard didnt recognized him from his Records.
As such it made adjustments based on what it could find from the Riders physiology and set its difficulty setting to Furier after noting his capabilities as machine/Android built for Combat.
lol bro i feel you i still havent beaten the flame on furier. i want to do it in order so i havent even tried bernard yet cause im still stuck on the stupid fucking furier flame CAUSE THE FINAL PHASE IS IMPOSSIBLE

Everything they wanted to do the first time, with the Time & Polish they needed to make it even more incredible.
Best Game Soundtracks: Furi, Undertale, Teslagrad, Silent Hill 2, Bastion. (Fluxuates day-to-day, but mostly that. Sometimes I also throw in Legend of Legaia & Jade Cocoon & Tolmba 2: The Evil Swine Returns because that's my favorite game of all time, next to Conker's Bad Fury Day: Reloaded. SO MUCH GOOD MUSIC OUT THERE! But Furi was special. It told a story as much through the Diagenic Music as the Combat & Controls & Visuals. MASTAPIECE 2016 GotY!)
Damn, I'm a month late from the premiere lmao. Phonemenal mix nonetheless, the first time I listened to the mix it was like I was back in 2016 playing Furi in one sitting. Katu's artworks really went well with this video so incredible job to both of you.
Everything that has happened to me this year was worth it to reach this.

this game man, the enemies, their lines, the movie like score playing,, i know its just a game but damn did it make me confront my own self, hate, fear, abandonment, innocence, aging, what is right and wrong, morality, my own being, it touched upon every aspect of being. this game speaks to me on so many levels emotionally like every boss is a part of something i struggled with and its so eye opening and heart breaking like the first boss its like literally fighting depression, or when you stab the beat and she is just a kid and asks you to hold her hand calling you a monster begging you, or when you kill the hand in front of his own son, and then you look and think was he right, was he good or just self righteous, am i good or just self righteous, am i evil, will being good bring you anywhere even, and thats just some of the bosses. this game literally confronts you with your own morality and beliefs. it got me out of some of the darkest places, there were games that came close but this man hit a line none other movies games or songs did. this game will always be close to my heart
I think a mix of the walking themes would be cool, named something like the Voice mix

Almost all the laughts can be triggered when you try to shoot The Beat while chasing her, there's just 1 laught left that it's not implemented anywhere, or so I think.
As much as you put in and as good as it is, a version without the bosses talking in the background would be appreciated.
