    Don't forget to save the painted texture file, because blender doesn't save that file when you only save the .blend file.
    The save button for the painted texture is under the Image tab in the UV window.
    example: Image*
    the asterisk (*) means that the image is only saved in RAM and not as a separate file on your computer.
    Hopefully this make sense.
    Thank you for another fun episode.

    how do you make the edges looks so nice before you even paint? like they have shadows and look cool how do you get those?

    • @Imphenzia
      @Imphenzia  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      In Blender viewport settings (drop down arrow top right of the viewport) there is a feature called "Cavity" that you can enable and I've set it to Both (Screen and World space) to make those edges shine. Unfortunately, they don't follow along if you export the model but you can switch the render engine in blender to "Workbench" instead of Cycles and Eevee to render with Cavity (shiny edges) in high quality.

    • @Imphenzia
      @Imphenzia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm actually impressed by Substance Painter/Designer features, but it's an expensive thing for me considering how rarely I use it these days so I'd like to dive further into what Blender has to offer since it's so capable too!

    • @magopoligonal7349
      @magopoligonal7349 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Imphenzia I'm not the best person to compare both systems but by what I'm seeing of them, substance painter is a pre-set node system/paint mode with some textures available to use, as well as designer is a node system with some textures and displacement (visualization only). For me they give you time, where blender is more manual-work until you set the nodes the proper way.
      Obs: until where I am aware, blender native procedural shading can give you faster randers and infinite resolution. But you know, I'm still a student and I can't be sure of that.

  • @Nightmoore
    @Nightmoore 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Ok.....I gotta ask: Why don't you ever use reference? It's kinda a critical thing every 2D or 3D artist does constantly when making stuff. Nobody is gonna be like "omg, he cheated in his 10 min challenge because he used reference!" Dude, I LOVE this channel and recommend it to everyone trying to learn Blender, but you gotta start pulling up a couple of reference images on a 2nd monitor. You're making things 10x harder on yourself without it.
