I was questioning things and denying the reality until I saw this clip and realized everything. although there could be more reasons, ash wanted eiji's safety more than anything else, even if it cost his life. honestly, it's such a bitter sweet ending but it's the most realistic than anything I could think of. remember how ash said in the beginning that he is the one who'll choose how he'll die? ash chose the rough way to be his path as he let go knowing there's someone who loved him for who he is. after all of the shit he been through, my man just wanted to rest and i will not forgive someone who blamed him for that. [Edit] for our point of view, if may have been the rough way but for someone who seek light all his life, this might be the only thing that's left for him to choose, it's ash's salvation.

I mean, i wasnt super sad or smtng, its just that the ending is unsettling but the story is still beautiful and super interesting and tense. To this day i still think of the ending just cus its super unsettling. But trough the show i gained something i didnt expected i would when i first started to watch. He despised Eiji and Ash because he viewed himself and Ash as the same because of their backgrounds and how they were treated throughout their respective childhoods. However, because Ash had someone who cared about him unconditionally and so purely, Yut Lung felt envious of that connection. He was so enraged over not having that opportunity to have someone genuinely care for him that he was willing to kill Eiji. He was in the mindset of “if I can’t find love, nobody can”, which is why you see him start to break down towards the end of the anime. As much as I despised Yut Lung’s character, I genuinely felt for him. All he wanted was for someone to care about him.

I’d do absolutely ANYTHING in the world to keep him safe from demons, even if it means I gotta die! You ain’t touchin’ my wife, Yut Lung! Gimme that!” And when there were no bullets, he thought this: “Oh, he’s just fuckin’ with me. *scoff noise (tch!)* Wait for me, Eiji. I’m comin’! This won’t take long, babe!” (It didn’t show it in this clip, but if I remember correctly I’m pretty sure it worked out and he got back safe. Although, I’m also pretty sure things got complicated and chaotic before he escaped 😅)
