- To celebrate Addison's birthday, we went to K1 Speed in Addison, IL so we could get our adrenaline fix. This place seriously has the fastest go kart racing I have ever been to. With 2 huge tracks, this place is great for corporate events, birthday parties, bachelor parties, and so much more. While you wait to race you can enjoy their arcade, bar, or even try out CyberSport (a mix between lacrosse, bumper cars, and hockey.

Addison and I are super competitive. We try to win everything and I have not ever let her win anything even as a little kid - yea I'm that type of dad. So it was a great win for Addison and she was very proud of it. I took my revenge on Monopoly where I have a 2 year winning streak with the family.

LOL. Her mom and I had a deal. She got to name a girl and I got to name the boy. If she was a boy it would have been Jackson Jet Santos (After Jackie Chan, Jet Li, JJ Abrams, and cool name for someone fast). Her mom liked the name of the street Addison (by the baseball field Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs) and when a character from Grey's Anatomy had the same name, she decided to name her Addison. Next time I'll have to mention that in the vlog. Great question.

These go-karts have 20-horsepower and go 45 miles per hour. Much faster than the old school go karts I use to ride.

It's been like two weeks in a deep freeze and when it gets warmer we get dumped with snow. I liked Mario Cart but I was never good at it. This place was super fun yet super scary cause how fast it is. Can't believe she is 13 now.

Yea, I don't know what happened. But especially in Texas where they don't have trucks and salt like us northerners. Plus their power grid was overwhelmed and so many are without power. I used to love riding go karts when I was a teenager. I think the last time I did it I was 18. Addie will beat you. Kids are just better at those than adults. Maybe because the weigh less. Those Karts have changed a lot since I rode them. They were just a frame with a seat and motor. Now they have a body on that frame.👍🏻😎
Yea, Addie was totally the favorite to win before I even started. Yea, these can be controlled remotely which is crazy. They go about 45 miles an hour. It was pretty fun time and best part, it was indoors.

I'm really cherishing the Daddy/Daughter days. We use to do that all the time when she was younger. We are in a middle of a 2 week deep freeze so this was a perfect activity for us. Rosalie saw the video and was so sad. Addison truly earned that win. I use to so adventurous when I was younger, now I am so careful because I think I used up all my luck as a kid. The only thing I don't like is that they make the track a little slippery to avoid flip overs. Those things are fast!

It was a hard earned win. Even is a little kid, I'm that dad who doesn't let his kids win - even in candy land. So when they win, they have truly earned it. K1 is super fun but it is so fast. It is so fast that it is easy to lose control or hit someone. One of the reasons it is such an adrenaline rush. You know what would be awesome is if we had a TH-cam CyberSport event. Reminded me of whirleyball where you use lacrosse sticks while in bumper cars trying to score in a hoop.

These go karts went a lot faster than I remembered.
And yes, nerve wracking when they learn to drive. But I found the way my two drove when they were younger (like carting - or on my knee in remote locations or in empty parking lots) was a pretty good indicator how they were when they really drove as teenagers. One drove too fast and was over confident, the other had natural ability and had a better head on her shoulders. It is actually a good idea to go with them ahead of time. But be prepared to be nervous, dad 😳
I might need to get a helmet like in this video when I go 😂. Thanks for the tips. My dad took me to the Walmart parking lot so I'll probably take her to one of the many empty malls. Time just flies.
Definitely. The old vacant parking lot driving lesson with dad (or mum in my case). One of life’s rituals. And yes. Time goes very fast 💨

Everyone guessed Addie and that was a good guess. It has been so cold over here we were glad to be able to find a place that was indoor and warm. Once we figure out our plan for our OH trip, we'll let you know.

Thanks for the faith in my Go kart Racing!!! Rosalie wants to just grow up so fast and do so many things. I just wish I could bottle her up. As you can see, Addison was a baby and all of a sudden she is a teenager. That's why I like watching your channel and the special bonding time you have with Anthony.

That looks like so much fun. I used to race my brother at our grandpas house he lived in the country and had a dirt track that we raced gocarts on. Thanks for sharing another great video. Happy Birthday Addison.
Having a dirt track would have been awesome. How fast did your go karts go? These went about 45 miles an hour.
@@SantosChronicles my grandpas gokarts didn't have a speedometer on them but if I had to guess I would say probably about 25mph. it was so long ago that I know as a kid I thought they were really fast but in reality it probably was only 20-25. He had a dirt bike for the track as well (which I crashed out in a cornfield) it was much faster than the gocarts. of course he wouldnt let me ride the dirt bike until I was 15.
