@@haxhia1613 back then CS was a mod, in like 1999 prior to november 1 2000 before the retail. CS has so much in common with games like TF, half life, DoD and cry of fear. most of these games except for half life were half life mods.
This was crazy. I've played mmorpgs like Everquest before but that feeling was crazy. Learning the basics felt like a real training. Then trying to find online games until you had the right ports unlocked and for the first time ever a server list appeared with actual humans playing live on those servers. Joining in I was overwhelmed. I wasn't even mad about getting killed. It was such a cool experience
@@lukkkasz323 however, the cstrain sounds were left out in 1.6. A few BSP's is just a few megabytes. Not a big difference if they would include the training.

@@FreeBird-ws2ye well statistically speaking every goldsrc game is a half life mod, half life is the base of the engine, that's why half life has its own directory and the goldsrc games are in the half life directory and dont have an independent directory
Had so much fun downloading and playing mods for half life. then CS came along and the mods started disappearing, bu that golden age 1999-2001 was sooooooo fun for mods. EDITL but then, they started doing lots of mods and fun maps for cs in 1.3 particularly, so cs had quite a bit of variety while still being more quake like in its physics

Wonder why this was cut from CS 1.6 Steam. At least CS:GO brought this kind of thing back.
Smaller game size, faster downloads etc.
Remember this was back in 2003 and the game could be downloaded only through Steam, not bought on a CD.
Extra work for no tangible benefit. They probably felt it wasn't worth the time to copy it over.
