Once in a while I watch this to feel the nostalgic. Great times. Sad to say that we can't go back but at least I'm happy because I played the best game ever with my friends. Just pure fun
I think it's strange for us that played back in those days (1.3, 1.5, 1.6) and watch the scene today where the new kids on the block don't know about any of these legends. I remember watching CPL Oslo live at a netcafe in Norway, i remember watching Clikarena where teams such as SK.swe, eolithic and Team9 played. I remember the real ScreaM, the swedish god that teached SpawN to play and i remember the feeling i had when CPL summer finally started each year. Those where the days and even though i enjoy watching CS:GO matches today, i'll never get that same feeling back. When Potti clutched the matches, when Heaton killed the whole team or when Element was always at the right place at the right time. I now finally understand how my parents and their generation felt when they spoke about fotballplayers such as Maradona, Beckenbeuer and Sir Bobby Charlton with real passion in their eyes, while we young kids didnt really care because we had Beckham, Brazilian Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos. This must be how they felt when i see those young kids today talking about Olofmeister being the best cs player ever, or that kennyS is the best awp'er in history. They never witness the amazing skill of JohnnyR, Ksharp and fisker with the awp or how godtier players such as XeqtR, Potti, Heaton and element was. Atleast players such as Markeloff, Get_Right, forest, GuardiaN and n0thing still plays. Occasionally we get too see Robban steppin in for FaZe aswell. But we'll never get the old times back :\

I proudly say that we still have cs 1.6 tournys in our college every few months where teams from even far off places takes part. CS:GO might be good, but 1.6 is a god tier game. Long live cs 1.6, long live the legends.
No wonder you comment about skins over skills. I've had experience playing in cs:go and also 1.6 when I was a child. For me the difference are the graphics and a little bit of spray patterns. Never once I bought skins in cs:go, I just enjoy it with my friends like before in 1.6. You can't really compare the 2, when we all have a different opinion about it. But skin is irrelevant and just a waste of money. Only rich kids buys it with their parents money(Mostly). Also when you don't have the skills, of course you'll be at the bottom of the ranks. I remember Heaton and Potti shutting down every aspect of every map together... making the other three on the team seem so unnecessary... taking nothing away from them of course, but if bds has to fill in and they still win... And they kept doing it over and over again and I loved every minute of it. Beating all of those smug cal-i teams who wouldn't give you the time of day if you weren't above cal-m or if your wonid/steamid wasn't below 5 digits. 😅😅 But the movie... I love how they used some frag or die clips but at a much higher quality... frag or die was also glitchy or something, but this production value is much higher. Good stuff.

If you guys remember, valve forced us over to cs:go by ruining the rates and doing horrible updates to 1.6 because hen cs:go was released people hated it and valve knew it so they did what they did. 1.6 was the best game purely based on skill, not just for competetive play, but bhopping, kz, quick scoping, surfing..etc. Everything was better. 1.0-1.3 was the best versions, insane sprays, unlimited b-hop, no awp delay, all shots where more accurate. They made the game less fun with every update after that, added a shield, major slow down after just one jump and other complete BS. 1.3 was almost perfect. The purpose of these updates were to make the game more competitive friendly, 1.6 was a more balanced game and required even more skill to be good.

first of all a lot of footage was taken from LAN tournaments so stop saying wall hacks.
second the new generation of "cs gamer" is just a bunch of complaining little ....XZXCX that care about the perks of the game more than the actual game. i.e (having the best knife!) or the latest "dragon lorde"
i been playing this since 1.3, also played several LAN tournaments with some of these players not with them but against them and their skill is was just as good as 'online"

Those "bugs" formed that great atmosphere and moments we had back then , yes nowadays everything going forward and games are not exception but back then was no casual shit and for some people those games (including 1.6) was not comfortable to play because not everyone was able to master that great game and challenge with different players and clans. It is pleasure that i was part of 1.6 era back then :P
