How many of you noticed that birds have almost stopped visiting Pallikarani marshland in the recent past?
Every time I have crossed Pallikaranai marshland for the past 10 years or more, I see it is at its lowest quality now..
Why is gutter from opposite colony allowed to come into marshland? Per my see, there is a formal canal put by officials for gutters from colonies to come and mix in the pallikaranai marshland.😢

Encroachment is the real crisis. Powerful politicians are rich are behind 90% of the encroachments. If Chennai retain its water bodies, this city would be an ideal city to live.
    Quint - Thanks.

The odds of removing a functional road are one in a million, but atleast if the other steps mentioned are taken at the earliest,it would be worthwhile.

I was also wondering the same but why cant we have a elevated road section which is a better alternative? of course the cost is high and I think the mindset has to change so as to prioritise environment above all!

It is really disheartening to see the state of the Marshland!
I think Madras high court has passed an order in 2021 to move the dump yard to another site but not sure what is the deadline or how serious is that taken.
I feel the situation with respect to Marshland will improve if:
-> the dump yard is moved to some other place as per the HC order as soon as possible [hope the new place is carefully selected and they segregate and process the waste properly there]
-> provide a elevated section for the Pallikaranai to Thoraikpakam instead of the current road which bifurcates the marshland
-> ensure no illegal dumping is done by nearby tech parks/industries/residential communities/waste collection tankers
-> fencing and providing a walking path on the perimeter of the marshland without providing walkways through the marshland which is the case in the Pallikaranai Marshland Park. The walkway through the marshland definitely needs to be removed in the park and the walkway along the perimeter is more than sufficient.
-> relocate any govt owned properties in the marshland and illegal encroachment of private owners. Also, legal owners of private properties, provided the govt which gave the permission compensates them adequately.

Tamilnadu Dravidian parties especially DMK has zero common sense and corrupted to the core. They should learn and take help from Pond man of India Mr. Ranveer Tanwar who has dedicated his life and restored many ponds especially with the help of Mr. Yogi Adityanath the CM of UP. If something is not done Pallikarnai will be lost for ever and be too late

Am I the only one who is disgusted by the fact that this channel keeps bashing India, Hindus and appeases muslims? I am also surprised by How this channel is running even though it gets no views? I mean Look at the number of views which this channel is getting. I never see the views going more than 5K even this channel has more subscribers. I think this channel needs to start publishing Pro-Indian Content which is relatable to ordinary people. Thanks No hate!
