  • Pokemon Theory: Beta Giratina was an Angel? Today's video discusses the idea behind the designs of Beta Giratina and Beta Arceus, where Beta Arceus is obviously God but what was Giratina? The massive Pokemon leak gave us alot of these Beta Pokemon, and this one is very interesting.

    Aren't gemstones used as a metaphor for eyes sometimes?
    "... was covered in eyes, all around, even under it's wings". Beta Giratina has gems(metaphor for eyes) on it's sides.
    Even the Pokémon Sableye has gems as eyes

      I think I've heard something about that, I know that there's a phrase that the eyes are the window to the soul. That just by looking into someone's eyes you can read what kind of person they are.

    I think they mightve took inspiration from the beta design at the beginning of Legends Arceus since when you first see Arceus he's in this blinding light form where he doesn't look physical at all

    Giratina, the Fallen Angel, do you agree?

      The Modern versions are corrupted with change and missing verses like acts 8:37 and came from the Vatican. Christianity is not a religion it’s belief faith and relationship to God the son aka Jesus Christ.
      King James Bible is pure gold

      I left my own large comment, but in short yes I agree. I don't believe Giratina to be evil like Lucifer, but definitely draws inspirations from Lucifer specifically from Christianity vs other religions, then yes Greek and Chinese mythology of which Arceus does as well.

      Giratina is a lamassu from mesopotamian religion

      The entire creation trio has many inspirations, Greek, Christian, Japanese, Chinese, not just them but many other legendaries too, heck Rayquaza has at least 5 1 being the Quetzalcoatl from Aztec mythology, another being Ziz from Judaism. Not a surprise it would have Mesopotamian inspiration, in fact you could argue Egypt was inspired by Mesopotamia and made their Sphinx based on the Lamassu. irl myths, legends, and religions have a lot of similarities just like Pokemon does, hundreds of different types of dragons exist in several cultures all over the world, you got Gods like Zues the king of Gods meanwhile Norse mythology Odin is the king and looks relatively similar to Zues while his son Thor has the same powers as Zues (not to mention Rome just stealing and changing things from Greek like Zues into Jupiter, or that Babylonians did the same to Mesopotamia). Many Pokemon have multiple inspirations, not just legendaries, not unheard of, has been a thing since gen 1.

      @@Blaze4ification well I like to think of it like this. Giratina is a dragon. Lucifer is a dragon. Banished for violence. Banished for defying god. Final boss in legends. Final boss in revelations. To many similarities.

    Makes perfect sense if Giratina is a parallel to the Devil, who is an angel.

    Giratina is meant to be the devil aka Lucifer the fallen angel to go with Arceus being god, so this beta design was definitely going for the fallen angel look more so than the satanic version we have currently. Literally has one wing for Pete's sake xd.

    Still wish Legends Arceus brought back the alphas, make them new forms for Arceus and Giratina, really show that Giratina is Lucifer the devil, having this angelic form, then falling from grace to become the beast in its altered form and the serpent in its origin form. Although in LA they did hint at events even further back so maybe we'll get a Legends Legends Arceus? One taking place even further before when this takes place? Maybe putting my hopes too high. Especially since Giratina was already banished by the time the events take place, the broken statue of Giratina, while Dialga and Palkia's statues still stand in the Coronet Highlands, there's still more to this story.

    Beta Arceus and Beta Girantina were missed opportunities for PLA. Beta Arceus could’ve been like a guide to the player character, where it walks us through places, and makes comments on our progress, while the Ark phone was for vague instructions. At some in the later part of the game, Beta Arceus would challenge us to test us and we’d catch it, only for the real Arceus to tease us in the Ark Phone and say to us if we want the “real” him, to ‘seek out all Pokémon”. Whenever we’d use a Plate on Beta Arceus, it’ll turn into the element it’s based on, so it’ll look like floating water, fire, lighting, etc….
    As for Beta Girantina, it would be like a leftover of the ‘True’ from Girantina before Arceus vanished it to the Distortion World. Maybe as a post game, you’d fine new distinguished letters all over Hisui, maybe written by Voló or something else. Eventually Beta Girantina encounters you after investigating some things around Hisui and wants to reunite with Origin Girantina, maybe we find out it helped Voló too. After catching it, you’ll get a new item, if you use this item on Beta Girantina and Origin Girantina, you’ll get True Form Girantina. Design wise True Girantina would probably lose the red and grey, and be closer to Arceus color scheme, and its wings would probably be feathered. For stats, idk, maybe these forms wouldn’t be viable or allowed in official rank or VGC, but it would’ve been nice to have them.

    Pokémon basically finished at gen 4 due to all the gen 1 getting evolutions and the Poké Gods. Then gen 5 was a reboot. Then Pokémon just sort of kept going with gen 6-8 and part 9 is coming soon.

      What if Pokemon ended after Gen 4? And if GameFreak made a contract preventing new Pokemon works from being made(like how BTTF ended after Part 3)? How'd that have been like? Imagine growing up in that parallel universe with altered memories.

    Yeah a chimera is mostly associated with that appearence from Greek lore, however anything with more than 2 animals mixed in is considered a chimera, heck even dragons you could call a chimera, but this is why a liger isn't a chimera it's only 2 different types of animals. Ligers are just a hybrid, when 2 types of animals make 1, a chimera needs at least 3. Which is fitting of Giratina too, not just because it's dragon type, it takes inspiration from Greek, Christian (specifically the Christian bible, will get into that in a bit), and Chinese primarily. The Chinese inspiration is the centipede like appearance of Origin form, and dragon typing in which it is a reference to the tale My Lord Bag of Rice.
    Much like Arceus also pulls from Christianity God and Chinese Budha how fitting Giratina the opposite also does, now onto the Christianity portion. Some religions depict Lucifer and Satan as the same being, when the arch angel Lucifer fell from heaven he becomes the devil, this is the Christian interpretation and probably a few others. However in some religions or stories, such as Dante's inferno they are 2 separate beings, for example one interpretation is the 7 princes of hell of which Lucifer and Satan are among, Lucifer representing the sin pride, Satan wrath, either of them being utilized as the king among them. Meanwhile in Judaism Lucifer doesn't exist, and Satan does, Satan was created at the same time as God and is God's opposite rather than a fallen son. Forgive me to anyone if I got any of this wrong, been a while since I studied other religions, but this is why Giratina pulls from Christianity over some other religions. It is the fallen child of Arceus, banished for its violence of which I have a theory about post Legends Arceus, won't spoil anything unless someone asks.
    However because of this I think all 3 forms of Giratina are fitting, which is why I find it a shame they didn't bring it back for Legends Arceus, maybe call it Giratina's risen form or something since it already has an origin form, origin as in original. However just its original form post falling from grace, for betraying god, then its altered form the one it takes while not in the distortion world because it can't maintain its origin form. Both forms also represent the forms the devil takes, a serpent (origin) and a beast (altered). While both forms also have 666 the mark of the beast (despite many saying this is wrong now), 6 spikes on the wings, 6 legs, and 6 ribs on altered while on Origin 6 spikes on the center of its body (I guess disproven if you count the 4 on the tail), 6 wings, and again 6 ribs.
    However I think unlike Lucifer Giratina is also a victim, just seeking freedom, not a bad Pokemon, because no Pokemon is bad. I always remember the island of giant Pokemon episode while remembering this, Ekans in all its wisdom says Pokemon aren't bad they just obey their masters. No Pokemon is bad, even Mewtwo that was created for evil, in the wrong hands a weapon, in the right hands like an 11 year old child a shield to protect people and Pokemon. Kyurem and Necrozma are also the "villain" legendary within their trio (while Kyurem also being the trio master like Rayquaza or Zygarde), Pokemon just trying to live because they are casualties of what humans did to them. Kyurem a zombie, looking for a soul, eating people, children and Pokemon alike for energy to not die, waiting the day one of the souls of the One dragon returns to the rotting corpse that Kyurem is. Likewise Necrozma forced to use its powers to bring light to an otherwise dark world, essentially dies losing its powers becoming a living black hole endlessly hungry for light and energy, until it happens upon Solgaleo or Lunala an infinite source of energy. Sadly though neither of these 2 can regain their original forms, Necrozma's is only temporary, and until confirmed we don't even know if Kyurem is the One dragon or like Reshiram and Zekrom a new entity given life from the split (which I believe the latter, because it is stated Kyurem is incapable of absorbing both, only Reshiram or Zekrom).
    Maybe it does plot against Arceus, but as we know from Platinum it will risk breaking rules to save its brethren and our world. At one point maybe evil, as it watches over us jealous, but now also as a protector, a tragic hero. I believe Giratina is also a victim, because no Pokemon is truly evil, they are either evil because they love their master which may be evil, or like humans of old out of fear we portray them as such. Same can't be said for the actual devil, but I full heartedly believe that's what gamefreak intended for Giratina, that it isn't bad or evil. Even the beast trio of Hoenn, as seen in Generations episode, were attacked and shunned out of fear for being brought back from the dead seeming unnatural. Now they and Ho-Oh await the day when someone worthy can prove humans and Pokemon can once again live together.

    • @Blaze4ification
      @Blaze4ification 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd say either Palkia or Dialga, the other one would be Michael... but ever since gen 4 1st released haven't been able to pinpoint which could be which. Dialga roar of time could be Gabriel, like he's blowing on his horn, meanwhile Dialga is steel type like a weapon, sword and lance of Michael are a thing while Michael is also seen as the chief of the angels. Palkia couldn't tell you one way or the other, they much like Giratina and Arceus also pull from Chinese/Japanese myths, and Greek mythology as well.

      I mean a lot of evidence to suggest it, the creation trio and Arceus have a lot of Chinese, biblical, and Greek inspirations. In fact all legendaries do, like the weather trio are inspired by Japanese, Rayquaza may pull from Aztec myths, all 3 might represent the 3 creatures in Judaism the Behemoth, Leviathan, and Ziz.

  • @johnsmith0001
    @johnsmith0001 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    What are you talking about? More easy for the wester ? How japanese people and asaian in general are more use to Christianity ? They are like less then 2% on jap alone 2% at most.
    Now is not really a obscure reference because well like is believed that Satan is a high ranking angel that fall from grace more exactly a seraph and the parallel with the distortions dimension and the underworld or hell are peculiar at least, meaning that the myth of arseus and the 3 Pokemon where base on the genesis and the fall of Satan most likely
