Very clear, understandable, and a professional presentation. Thank you and best wishes. I would advise you review high subscriber sites and incorporate whatever you feel comfortable with and experiment.
Only issue with filters, is that many transmissions today, the filter is internal. Which means taking apart the transmission to get at it and that is a task likely beyond the skill of most DIYers.
Are those only on modern vehicles? Mine is 25 years old. I didn’t know this part existed but I’ve suspected my transmission was getting too hot for the last couple months. I keep burning myself on the dipstick while working on an EGR issue and it starts shifting poorly (tach jumps and slams into gear) after a few miles, even when you fully warmed the engine before driving off.
NOT everyone will have this located in an easily accessible spot like this vehicle does. It's quite common to see on GM, Ford, and some other Trucks do have this, but most are on the inside behind the oil pump in the Transmission case (i.e. Chrysler, and Ford and etc.).
What would cause a hard shift just into 2nd gear on a infinti i35? Ive changed the fluid 3 times in the past year. Just a drain and refill. Car has 164k miles
+@americanpatriot5836 We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
