Miriam. this was a studio performance with a family friend on the piano, Rob Mennen, who is on a number of videos over a number of years with Emma, this was one of her most powerful presentations of this song, there's 3 on TH-cam, a much earlier one with the Maastricht Star Male voice choir, very different, but very good, th-cam.com/video/o3uskk3objU/w-d-xo.html
she was 2 years younger, and still finding her way after winning Voice Kids, and then the TV Christmas show, also with Max TV,
    th-cam.com/video/9qVHQuPQud0/w-d-xo.html
a very special and touching performance with huge emotion, it's very clear that while Emma was physically in the studio, mentally, she was somewhere else, maybe even in a different time, LIVING the song, the emotions of it, the reality of it, and that's what is making her performances so special, she's not just singing, or even performing, she's operating at a very much higher level than that, and drawing the audience in, regardless of how many people it involves, in the studio it was about 10 including immediate crew, in Athens earlier this week, Andre got 13,500 people singing Happy Birthday for her, ( it was her 16th that day), but regardless of the numbers, Emma has the ability to take control, and dominate the place by sheer strength of personality, even when she's the smallest one in the place, there's a lovely video from probably 4 years ago where she's working the audience at a choir event like she's been doing it for years, so much in control and able to not just sense the mood, but steer and control it as well, which at that age is a very special skill and ability, and rare at that age. The video of that few minutes is at

Emma's health issues, she was born with gastroparesis, though it wasn't properly diagnosed until she was 10, means that she can only be free of the tube feeding system that keeps her alive for 2 hours a day, she was put on it at 9 MONTHS, so her time she is able to perform on stage is hugely limited, and she's also had other issues, her growth was hugely delayed, even now, she's only 1.42 height, and around 50 Kg, so her stamina is also affected, more than 2 flights of stairs when carrying the pumps, or walking longer distances, some days, that's a challenge. She is focussed on living a normal life, and her focus is laser like, some things are not possible, but she is incredibly determined, and will undoubtedly achieve her goals.
She is at present touring the world for the rest of 2024, as a guest star with Andre Rieu's Johann Strauss orchestra, the full year schedule is for 75 concerts, she first appeared with him last summer, singing a new version of the 2021 Eurovision entry, 'Voila',
    th-cam.com/video/KdIhq1tb8Co/w-d-xo.html
sung originally by Barbara Pravi, Emma learned this phonetically, she doesn't speak French, the words meant a lot to her because of her life circumstances, and within days of the video being released on TH-cam, it went viral, and as of today, it's had in excess of 43 Million views, and there are similar numbers on other social media sites, it's still viral now.
Emma's also having to concentrate on school work, she still has to complete her schooling and exams, she's doing that by using online schooling, so we're not seeing any new work very often, but I'm hopeful that there will be more new songs coming from the regular work with the orchestra, there's been a couple of songs in recent weeks, a lovely song in German, the 1982 Eurovision entry, there's not an offical video yet, but the two audience captures needed to get the full song are OK,
Ein Bisschen Frieden she starts it with a cheeky smile and a raised finger for quiet, and then sings a capella for the first verse.

    th-cam.com/video/aC-QtYbGRoE/w-d-xo.html
The first video is a short, so auto repeats, and then the second video is the rest of the song.
Another strong performance is a Michael Jackson song, 'Heal the world', again, there's not an official video yet, but a good capture from the recent concert in Abu Dhabi can be found at

Emma did a special performance at a commemoration concert held to remember the 8000 Americans who gave their lives to liberate Holland in WW2, there are 4 videos, an introduction and 3 songs, the first song, 'Father' is an incredibly strong performance, the sound engineer behind Emma was not ready for what he heard and it broke him, Emma switches between soft and gentle and absolute power belter mode several times, and it's a very special performance.

There's a lot more from Emma on TH-cam, and all worth searching through.
I close with my normal sign off for comments about Emma, it's heartfelt, as a result of doing research into her illness, and the more I discovered, the more respect I have for her, she truly is an exceptional individual.
Emma's foundation can be found at gastrostars.nl
Please, if at all possible, join me in making a (regular) contribution to her foundation, to enable them to help patients like Emma, and research this awful disease, and hopefully find a cure.
One of their main people is a surgeon who has a lot of experience in dealing with gastroparesis, and she is not only a surgeon, but also suffers from the same disease herself, to the extent that as a result of her condition worsening, she's had to leave her role in the hospital, and she is now dedicated to the foundation, and working to help find possible new treatments, or even better the cure that will free people like Emma to live a more normal life, rather than be tied to the feeding pumps for so many hours every day.
It will be so good if the work of Emma's foundation can lead to a better treatment, or even a cure, which will free her to do more singing, and it may be people here who make that possible.
