thank you for yput reaction. Not only on Emma, but on this amazing arrangement too. The orchestra was fabulous, also was the choir. I like this version of Hallelujah so muchand emma delivers its so well. It's good te be alive, just listening to the songs of Emma.
A beautiful performance by Emma, and everyone involved in this production. This arrangement of the iconic Leonard Cohen song 'Hallelujah' seems tailored to allow Emma to soar in an amazing vocal performance that stamps this version of the song as her own. This is really a work of art, and Emma is the artist here. It is just beautiful.
Michael, Thank you, first for waiting till the end before speaking, and then for giving us a very measured and helpful reaction to Emma's latest new work, and she showed some lovely variations during that performance. If I'm honest, they got the mixing a little bit wrong, during the middle section, Emma goes into a real belter mode, but they didn't give her microphone the level it deserved, a couple of weeks later, there's a similar performance where she only had a piano in the accompaniment, in a studio, and that time, they let her powerful section get the level it deserved, and it was so good, I think that even if you don't do a reaction to this very different performance, you will like it, the song only is at th-cam.com/video/ma01DXvF5Vk/w-d-xo.html, I was going to post a link to the full interview, but it seems there's a copyright dispute around that at the moment which is a pity, as it portrayed Emma in a very good light. I would be interested to see your reaction to a home produced video that she did for tube feeding week, a powerful cover of Miley Cyrus, 'The Climb', it's a seriously powerful song that again very much emphasises her feelings and emotions, and is very close and deep to her life experience. th-cam.com/video/dOhzlDEuCBg/w-d-xo.html Again, thank you for giving Emma the reactions and support, I will close with a heartfelt plea. Please, if you can, join me in making a (regular) donation to Emma's foundation, gastrostars.nl They are a possible source of treatment or even a cure for people like Emma, it would be a tragedy if Emma had to stop singing because her gastroparesis had become worse, and her foundation may be the way that new treatments or a cure can be found, one of the key members of the team is a surgeon who worked at the Maastricht hospital, she also has gastroparesis herself, and she has been forced to give up her work at the hospital because of a deterioration of her health, so her focus now is the foundation, and with her knowledge, her input will be vital. It would be so encouraging to hear that they have made some breakthrough that will enable Emma to be free to do what she is so good at, it would mean that her other dream could also become reality, with all she's been through in her short life, that would be so liberating for her.
Realizing Emma is only 15 years old and not well it shows in her singing as she lacks the power the quality, the depth for this song and that is comparing her to 16 year old Lucy Thomas from UK who also sang this song, more powerful, fuller and with more music in her voice, Emmas version was goo but not stunning as was Lucys !!

Thanks for your nice and interesting comment. Will check that.
Max is one of the Dutch broadcasting societies, and it mainly targets an older audience (hence Max). This recording was a special Xmas concert for tv.

I respect your opinion but don't forget that some people would probably say the opposite... it's just a matter of taste when it comes to art.
