India is a land of surprises and extremes. Take advantages of the chance you have to be there. Thanks for sharing with us your travel adventures. 😉

Hi Marthe you summed India up very well. It has been exhilarating and exhausting all at once but we're loving it. We just left the south yesterday and arrived in Kolkata. From here we will continue our march back up north. We initially started out in the north back in December. We are so lucky to have experienced all that we have seen so far and to have been the recipients of so much hospitality from people here. Thanks a million Marthe for always being there for us. 🤗🥰🤗🥰

Oh goodness. This video is timely. We just dealt with having a rat in our RV this past week. It got so crazy some nights it would run across my sleeping body and yes, on night ran across my foot when I was in the bathroom. Just don't tell those people in the temple we caught it with a sticky trap and then dispatched it. And so goes life at the edge of the mangrove jungle at the Oaxaca coast...

Oh wow that is quite the coincidence. That had to be an interesting few days having an extra occupant in the RV! We hope you're enjoying Oaxaca...apart from your unexpected guest 😉. Stay cool and mind yourselves. 🤗🤗

Well, You finally found one. I would not go in there on a bet with no shoes. I would have to have my heavy boots on. But, As long as you two are having fun that's all that matters. 😰

We've had to take our shoes off quite a bit in India to visit temples and even some shops. This particular temple came with a bit of a twist! It was a lovely experience. Thanks for the comment, Roy! Take care! 🥰🥰

Hi Jerry and Fiona! You know I had to comment on this one, rats being my numerous uno fear. Good video. One question...the excrement? How does that feel under the bare feet and what are the health concerns with that? JEN

Hi Jen! We didn't feel any excrement under our feet, just dried peas, nuts and seeds which were left for the rats by temple visitors/devotees. Speaking of those edible offerings, people often eat what has been given to the rats and even drink from their communal water dishes. Having said this, there are no reports of any diseases spread by the temple rats [kābās] to humans - this is confirmation to many that these rats are indeed special. In the end, our feet were cold and not too dirty-looking, believe it or not.

Can someone work at leader creek for 3 months and how much can one make with all the overtime in one month

As a seafood processor the season only lasts from June 15th through August 15th. These are the dates that you agree to be available for within the contract with Leader Creek.
As for how much one can make, that really depends upon the salmon run and how busy the plant is. 2022 was a record-breaking year for Leader Creek, whereas 2023 was a very lean year for many of the seafood processing plants. We were very lucky at Leader Creek in 2023, whereby we worked through the season. Others were not so lucky working elsewhere.
If everything were to go well and one worked 6 weeks straight, with 26 days of back-to-back (daily) 16 hour days it could be possible to gross $10,000 within that 6 weeks. There will also be less busy days on each end of the season until the salmon start to run and as things wind down. Just keep in mind everything depends on the salmon run. We cannot emphasise enough that working the overtime is mentally and physically gruelling, but keep those pay-cheques in mind as motivation to push through.
