The Lifeboat & Palme Tragedy of 1895 (Abbreviated Version Updated)

In 1895, two lifeboat crews went to aid the crew of a large sailing ship called the 'Palme' that was in difficulty during a massive storm in Dublin Bay just outside Kingston (now Dun Laoghaire) Harbour. One of the lifeboats overturned and all of its crew were drowned. This documentary tells the story of the sinking of the Palme and the drowning of the lifeboat crew. The program is presented by Cormac Lowth who has completed extensive research about the Palme tragedy and other historical events in Dublin, Ireland.
