    If you long press the soft keys next to zfw and fob. The numbers will automatically insert

    I would agree with the previous comment. After watching your video on general FMC logic, it makes it way easier to navigate new aircrafts fmc/mc'du (I'm loving it)

    On the weight page, if you keep the key pressed for a few seconds, it will copy in the actual weight

    This FMC is different enough from the 737 that I had to slowly go through this vid a couple of times. I wondered why I couldn't just import the flight plan directly from Sim Brief and of course this is possible and easy once you get the laborious file path set up. But the 737NGDriver is correct in showing the manual way to input waypoints, etc. The flight plan your dispatcher filed is not necessarily the one that ATC will clear you to fly.
    Pretty exciting to have my route loaded in the box, now on to video 3! Thanks for this help!

    FMC seems quite good for version 1 of the plane. I used to hate FMC mcdu but after some study and watching your videos it’s finally clicked 😂 and I find it much easier and it’s quite satisfying to plan and setup the flights. Thx like always efficient and informative.

      It's alright, there are surely some issues with it, but for a version 1.0 it does what it's supposed to do. Better than some other recently released planes.

    Thanks for a great video. I've watch multiple videos on the FMC and always seem to find nuggets that others don't mention. For instance, how to copy and make use of the backup flight plan.

    I was told that you do not enter the pos init, by a real atr pilot, because it will automatically enter the data at a more precise position. Putting in the last position will override the system and make it incorrect

      He didn’t input the last position, he entered the current gps position which was just below the last position 1:51

      In the real ATR you don’t even do that , you just leave the top entry blank.

      My 11 year old FCOM version still told to do that, but indeed it seems many ATR pilots say that later versions no longer require this.
      I really wish we had a current manual included that would highlight the current SOPs!

      Yeah as 737NG points out, the FCOM they are using is old. The flow on the FMC changed, so they are just following the old flow.

    Thanks for all the ATR tutorials Emanuelle, they're excellent as always 👍🏻. I seem to have an issue where flight plan is all taken correctly in green, but then about half way through flight the FMC plan turns yellow? Also had a situation last night where arrival runway changed and couldn't see arrival ICAO in flight plan to change it. Any tips?

    Well explained, as usual :) In this FMS, is there an option for FIX ? I use that function all the time in other aircrafts. Say you have a waypoint and you set a certain distance it. I use that function for TOD , make me aware when to start decending

    Ive been trying to figure out how to get into the Flt Pln "Plan" system and I didn't know which video showed how to do that. It was this one. Bring ND up and then on the Flt Plan page it says Plan. I hope this works. In the 737 I rely on being able to see the entered flight plan map.

    Hello, thank you very much for the tutorial. I thought it will be relatively easy plane, not requiring so much learning . First VFR flights were ok, I think the plane flies very well, and despite it is slow and light plane (maybe because of that..) it requires gentle and precise flying. About cockpit preparations, and computer initializng, filling route, performance, and the click spots screens logic..... It look complicated, and not so friendly like 737 and A320. I'm suprised about that. I've watched these two tutorials, switching to third, and I'am worried about next cockpit preparations without this tutorials :) Checklists are also not friendly.

    how do i create a point on the map from the MCDU/FMC? There is a new airport LRBV and I need to create a point before capturing the ILS. Thx The point is called "EBCOL" (not curently in the simulator)

    Hello thank you for great tutorials. Regarding weight init, you have put ´random’ numbers in the beginning of the video on the weight management system of mfs. Then here you use exact numbers from your flight plan. I saw on another video that you have to set up the good figures into the weight management system of mfs if not the numbers are not updated. True or false ?

    FYI: you don't have to do the POS init. The airplane will use your GPS position if you do nothing on that screen. I learned this from Magnar's channel: th-cam.com/video/bsJtx4yNJYE/w-d-xo.html

    In the ATR FCOM it states not to set the GPS monitoring as the ATR uses automatic GPS INT setting it manually can over ride automatic GPS algorithms.
    Not sure if this is modeled or not in this ATR.

      In the FCOM I had (2012 version) it still stated to use this. I know, 11 years old and thus probably outdated, but the only one I could get my hand on. I wish there was a descend manual included...

    On the airways page, are we limited to entering only one page of airways? I tried a delivery flight with airways taking me onto what would be page 2, but I could not complete my list as I could not find an option to continue only a blank page 2, and when i tried to enter it manually, my FMC froze.

    I don't know if this is in the real airplane or a nasty bug in the sim, but I got myself in a real mess in the flight plan, where I had set a waypoint via an airway, then back to itself. Something like GDV G5 GDV. Problem was I could find no way to delete the mistake! When in the LTRL REV page I could find no way to delete individual entries, and back on the FLT PLN page, I cleared out that one waypoint, then went to re-add it correctly but as soon as I re-added it it kept all the mistakes it had before!
    at the end I ended up restarting because I couldn't find any way to clear it all out :(

    Thanks for this video, it was really helpful. I have one issue.
    I am trying to insert this route: EGJJ/08 OYSTA2B SKERY L22 EMWIP P16 FIMCA N22 BHD N864 TIGWE L9
    NICXI M17 VATRY VATRY1S EIDW/34
    Everything works perfect until I want to enter the M17 airway, this is airway six, I click on the next button to go to a second page, but this does not seem to work. Is there a limit of only five airways?

      That's something I asked the devs as well. The ATR manual is quite unclear about this. But I'm 99% sure there should be no such limit.

    Random question….why do the letters on the keypad E N S and W have a circle around them? I’m assuming it’s for east west north and south, but what’s the point when you can easily locate the letters without the circle?
    Great tutorial. Looking forward to the entire series so i can finally fly this bird!

      I guess it's just a leftover from older times... makes it easier to navigate the keyboard however and thus still is useful!

    Hi thanks for that video but for some reason my fms flight plan went into some sort of a temporary mode and I was unable to go back in normal (green) mode. I ve tried clicking on the clr tpy button, press the EXEC and a lot of stuff but it didn t solved that problem. What am I missing or is just a bug ?

    My right FMC wont let me leave the page that I select. Only the side soft keys work and not any over the buttons below the FMC screen except the alphabet and numericals. I like to use both FMCs to have separate info on the FO's ND. Anyone else have this issue? Maybe its a mod conflict for me just wondering if its a known bug or not.

      Go to the vertical revision page of the way point, there you can add it.

      Don't type the waypoint, but select it from the list. That should circumvent the problem until the next update fixes it.

      Now my fmc always freeze and I use the method with pressing the the keys and it was working fine. Now everything freezes even my overhead panel.

    Nice series of videos on the ATR, the 42 was one of my favorite with FS2004.
