- Dutch inventor by the name of Bjorn Harms, has created two life sized remote controlled replica cars from the 80’s, one of them is KITT from the TV show Knight Rider, and the other is the DeLorean from the movie Back To The Future.
These cars are fully functioning driveable cars that are street legal, that can also be completely operated using a remote control, with different levers and buttons for the brakes, headlights, throttle, steering and gear selection.
Thanks for watching.

★★★ *FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE VIDEO / FACT UPDATES* ★★★
*1) There was a remote Control DeLorean used in the docu-series - Expedition: Back to the Future. Which first aired 15 March 2021, where this video was made March 2022, so it's not the first remote control DeLorean* - The remote control DeLorean I showed in this video, was made in 2019. Google "remote control DeLorean" and you will find lots of article covering it in 2019. I am only covering it now in 2022, as Bjorn only approached me in December 2021.
Also I asked Bjorn was the DeLorean for the Docu-series - Expedition: Back to the Future, made before his one, this is his reply.
*IT WAS FAKED!*
Months before this episode got aired / before it was filmed, the channel contacted me to invite me to the states and build a RC Delorean, that would be donated to M.J. Fox foundation. But the building time was not realistic and its a lot of fabrication. Also, it was in the beginning of covid, so traveling would not haved worked anyway!
Of course I also seen the docu-show, and lot of things where faked. Many of those cars where already signed by members of the cast BTTF and they changed certain details.
As for the RC part... I know for a fact! It was all faked. Take a good look during the RC scene. Don't you think its funny you don't see not 1 scene inside the car / or moving parts / the controller doc holds....his motion on the controls does not control the car.
Another Delorean BTTF in Germany contacted me with the question if I could build him one. But his car is a manual. But he first contacted the mechanic you also saw in the show. He told him they faked it because they didn't knew how I did it. I think personaly, it is a damn shame they faked it, and passed it on as real. There is only 1 remote controlled BTTF Delorean and that's the one i have build. There is another autonomous driven Delorean that is electric. But this has nothing to do with back to the future."
Here is the link to the scene remote controlling the DeLorean from the Docu-Series - th-cam.com/video/JeSVOmZiGIs/w-d-xo.html
1. Noticed how the camera keep filming the bumper while driving back>
2. Why do you think all 'flashing' electronics and lights are OFF inside the car? You would see the driver.
3. They only film the entire car FAR AWAY from the camera, and again....its pitch black in the car.
4. When driving back the DeLorean.... again, they keep the focus away from the window.
If they was really remote controlled, don't you think they would've showed it off more! Camera's in the car....All the lights on... and so on.
For me as a builder, this is a bit a punch in the face. This was a very complicated build. I AM SO GLAD, I did not show them how I build it. They would've taken all the credit.

Really a shame they did that to Bjorn, hes a marvel mechanic, a genius really.
Awesome cars and engineering! Bravo!!
Two beautiful Replicas of the most iconic film cars ever made
Wrong Smokey and the bandit trans am and Dukes of hazard general Lee
For anyone who thinks "why don't I talk about or cover the Ukraine war" well 2 main reasons, one I am not a news channel, two youtube demonetizes channels that cover those kinds of topics.
if you want someone to cover the war and talk about it and highlight the issues that need to be discussed, *YOU DO IT!!*
Those cars are so cool! Childhood heroes right there. - Nice job.
That is why I loved growing up in the 80s, you can appreciate what these icons meant to us all ! Very Well Done Indeed !!
That was great mate! Very nice compilation and story telling of my RC builds. It was well worth the wait. Good job! :)
Thanks, glad you liked it.
@Greg Johnson aah... i think that i am a little late for that. Hollywood already have many rc options. From rc to stuntman seats ON the roof or hanging from the side of the stunt cars. However... i took DIY level rc cars to a new level. Using a custom control box...and creative hidden bracket designs to keep the car also still manually driveable and without seeing its remote controlled 😊
@@Plushybear09 no they don't and no they are not, i had some clips with them closed.
@@WonderWorldYTC sorry I meant no disrespect I just re watched it and still missed it. Maybe it plays different in Australia
@@Plushybear09 no... i kept them open so people could see there was no hidden person inside 😉
The hero we didn't knew we needed!
The replica controller design really ices the cake. Far out
yes, very intricate looking remote control, even in it's normal raw form, so many buttons, dials and switches.
That's heavy!!
Exactly my thought! That kind of detail makes it clear this guy is a perfectionist. This is competence porn of the highest level!
It wasn’t far out at all, it was right in front of him…
Yes please, can I have both those cars in my garage!!! Well done Bjorn!
if I could only have 1, I would take KITT, looks easier to drive and nicer overall, but the DeLorean is so Iconic and will really turn heads.
@@WonderWorldYTC Kitt was the first car I absolutey loved when I was a kid. But to now have the Delorean in the same frame.... Absolute joy! But for me it will be the Delorean but with the voice of William Daniels reminding me do I want to really travel back in time or forward? 😋🤣
I don't think they were built to be in a garage.,...but in the open world.
My two favourite movie/tv cars. I’d be in frigging heaven with either of these.
Mate I hope you showed Christopher Lloyd and Michael J Fox they would be like what the hell it's fricken real a remote control time machine you are a bloody genius love it
The man that built these RC cars is a bloody Legend!!
I love the Delorean. I have to go watch the Movie now
The power of suggestion.
My Hat is off to the Dutch inventor, 2 thumbs up
and a Hi from Down under Australia.
This gotta be one of the coolest things I've seen on the internet...! ❤
Just amazing. This guy should work for the movie industry with those skills!
If you really wanted to have some fun in KITT you could jump into the back seat and drive it remotely and scare everyone around you.
I wouldn't want to be standing in the parking lot. That would scare me.
I've watched your videos on K.i.t.t
Remote build..and it's finally finished GREAT JOB...NOW ON TO THE FUTURE DOC
it took me 6 full days to make this video, a lot of editing.
🙏🏼
Awesome👍 Thank you!!
Thank you.
That Corvette doing donuts is pretty neat! 👍👍
This is the best diy delorean time machine and I want one!!! Well, done.
Some people just be living their best lives. I don't mean people that throw money away for expensive things or partying all the time. I mean people like these that put in whatever resources they have, a little or a lot, to put their passion into reality.
Me: am proud I can change a light bulb in my Honda
Bjorn: builds two of the most famous screen cars ever and successfully remotes them
Oh wow that’s one of my childhood dream is to have a full size radio controlled car from the greatest movie ever made
Great Scott! This is heavy!
This would be so nice to have for parallel parking and hooking up trailers
Amazing what people can do with skills and determination.
Cool. Let's see him do that w/ a replica of the Knight 3000 Mustang. That'd be so cool.
Cool but very scary. You have got to be skilled as to not lose control of a full size vehicle.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! I’m definitely hiring this guy to remote control conversion my cars in a few years 💯
Being a man with a hobby is such a wonderful thing.
Magnificent and brilliant
This guy is winning in life
Ok, there’s epic, and then there’s ‘making a remote controlled KITT and BTTF delorean’ epic.
AMAZING !!
I have to admit that was so amazing 👍👍👍👍
Incredible… Simply Amazing.
One of the coolest videos, ever!!
that is as slick as ive ever seen , great job
You have done very good job sir. Love those 2 cars. :-)
😲Crikey.. I am astounded.. THIS IS AMAZING.. first K.I.T.T. that acts and looks and drives like if K.I.T.T. was alive and now Doc's DeLorean.. wow.. this is amazing and well done, and just the imagination that went into producing this is fascinating and just wow.. love it and want one or both.. lol.. Ace to Bjorn Harms for this and to this channel... wow..!!!!🏆🏆
0:38 most beautiful dashboard, I love it.
I’ve been waiting for this for years
Awwww man that is awesome love both of the cars two of my favorite movie cars also. Great job 👏👍👌
This gonna blow up.
This is just absolutely EXCELLENT!! Boys to Men....Then back again!!!🥳🎉
Most bad ass thing I’ve seen in a while
That's cool! very good job dude!
Bjorn is a fricken genius! This man picked the two absolute best T.V. and movie cars to go remote! What a lucky guy! Great video!
A thing of beauty both of them
This is complete BOSS MATERIAL!!
You know what's more amazing? How he got such a DeLorean in such a good condition for this video.
you can actually get original delorean spare parts to this day, and there is a company specialized in selling everything around deloreans, they even use the original tooling they bought from DMC and make their own parts . and since these cars are mostly just a polymer frame with a stainless steel shell, they basically wont rust to crap like other cars.
when you need to drive the kids to. school but you work from home now..🤣
this is taking play money for a hobby to a whole new level
I spent a lot of time trying to automate my volvo 760 as basically as I possibly could using electo mechanical principles. I was smart enough to make it work for doors, lighting and general accessories. I had a good go with the throttle, but not able to do brake or change positions in the automatic gears.. this is why you need money behind you to pull off something like this safely big on ya for pulling it off
That was insane. I want to build an RC DeLorean now too.
I was always convinced the car in the film was really remote controlled but that illusion was shattered when I saw the Blu-Ray version. Doc places Einstein in the driving seat and then controls the car to reverse. At the last moment when the car is far enough away to spins round and face the other way, you can see the stunt driver (dressed as a dog) grab the steering wheel and turn it sharply.
Awesome
Very impressive! Thanks for sharing!
Excellent excellent 👍🏻👍🏻 very nice very good thank you for bringing good stuff...!!!!
車をラジコン化するのはすごいですね😊こんなのを憧れます。
Super cool! Thanks for sharing.
A dog, a stop watch, and the right special effects, and it would peak a lot of interest. I bet he could rent his services out for grand openings, rich kid's birthdays, and movie events. Imagine pulling up to the red carpet in one of these and then it drives away on it's own....
Seeing how many subscribers Bjorn has actually makes me kinda sad.
He deserves WAY more.
This is the COOLEST thing EVER! 🤩
Great video 👍
Thank you
what a legend, bravo to this man. i would say priceless vehicles.. but.. everything has a price. HOW MUCH.
What would be neat is if someone rigged tinny led light tubes around the car and set them to turn on at 88mph. Drive this on the highway at night. You’d turn a few heads
That is BADASS!!!
Great Scott !!!
dang..KITT will definitely freak people out.
Wow I love it was beautiful like movie and show tv
I am so jealous about the DeLorean I can barely type!
Got to tell you I got more excited when I herd about kitt
yes I agree, the DeLorean has a better external visual image, but KITT is all about that understated external image and amazing interior
Unfassbar Einfach nur MEGA Cool
Cool stuff here, thank you for sharing
Muito bom!! É nostalgico ver essas máquinas andando por controle remoto!
wow excelente trabajo
Love the Time Machine . Awesome
This just gave me some awesome ideas...
I would be very interested to see how you work the clutch in the DeLorean by remote control that is the one thing I wondered about even in the first movie
There was a stunt drive in the first movie dressed up as Einstein but it is a good question how it would work.
Since it can remotely change gears, it probably can operate the clutch at the same time.
An electric motor could disengage throttle and press the clutch in order to change gear, that's all.
As far as I can remember, SAAB used the Sensonic system in several cars, which basically operated the drive-train without a clutch pedal, but still had a manual transmission. The clutch was electrically driven by a sensor in the gear knob, which "sensed" when you wanted to change gear.
Long story short it was an underdeveloped piece of shit, but still kinda revolutionary piece of shit.
I think the delorean in this video is an auto. You can make the auto stick look like a manual using a knob and gaiter from the manual
OH WOW THIS IS TOTALLY AWESOME 😎
A really cool vid, at the right time, man...😎👍👍
if KITT & the DeLorean can't make you smile, then you are dead inside.
Very cool too bad it doesn't have the hover conversion system
Great Scott!!!!!
Thats amazing he turned a 99 Trans Am into a 82 KITT replica! Didnt think that was possible til now!
1989 lol
WHAT!!! AMAZING
GREAT SCOTT👍😎🏆🥇
Sensacional chega emocionar ver um réplica do delorean
Just Incredible!
Now I have seen everything, that is what you call next level hobby, well done. Was the DeLorean signed by Christopher Lloyd ?.
Oh my gosh, what !!!!!!????? What an awesome guy wow !!!!!
Just sick out! Awesome ! 👍👍👍😯
Remember the RC scene in the edited-for-TV version of BTTF?
"When this baby hits 88 miles per hour, you're gonna see some serious... things." 😆😂🤣
So cool!!!
That's hot if I have those abilities and skills to learn how to do that I would do it and have fun with it to learn something I imagine when I was a kid that's so cool I'll give you all props what you doing man
My goodness, what kind of awesome remote control is that? If I buy a Tesla Model S Plaid after my VW CC R-Line, your remote control has to go in. It's absolutely awesome. This remote control inspires more trust in me than the call mode from the S Plaid that Tesla installs itself.
Incred-ible!!!
Woah! "Disc Brakes"
The only problem with DeLorean time machines is that 88mph is difficult for them on a good day.
Imagine someone trying to steal these cars and Bjorn is like oh I'm gonna have fun with this.
awesome Knight rider car
