What kind of monitors are those they sound amazing... also I think I'm going with the Ashton origin...but of course with the accessories.
@@richardburley1552 those are the Kali Audio LP6s. Here is my review of them:
th-cam.com/video/moVFcASi1yM/w-d-xo.html:
@@homestudioacademy I'm thinking about getting those 3 way Kali monitors but I'm trying to decide between those and the Yamaha Hs8
@@richardburley1552 I have not tested the Yamahas so I can only say that the Kali Audio ones have been great and very reliable to me and the projects I’ve worked on.
Thank you brother!
You’re very welcome! Glad to help 😊
I personally think the NT1 sounds much better and fuller, espeacially for spoken word, and I like the included spider and pop filter. Great video!
Hey Jack, thanks for leaving a comment! I completely agree and prefer the NT1 as well.
jus add bottom to the origin with eq and it’ll sound just as warm as the nt1a as this is essentially what they did, the mesh pop filter on the aston prevents a lot of diapraghm contamination and unless u have a studio with hepa filters it isn’t worth buying anything without protection of the electronics and diapraghm from pollutants, i’ve lost thousands of dollars trying to figure out what was causing my audio issues just to learn it was essentially the diapraghm being gummed up from moisture and dust, MIND YOU i did take these things into consideration and every microphone i’ve ever had that didn’t hVe the internal pop filter ended up damaged faster than it came when i ordered it i now have a nuemann tlm 102 and i can tell u rn it protects it so well sounds the same since i bought it

The Aston is amazing great video just made my choice easy
Glad you found the video helpful! 😊
Your vocal soo good
Thank you so much!
Thanks
You’re very welcome!
Your singing voice. Goddamn. I really hope you sing on some released tracks :)
Thank you so much for your kind words and support! I have released many covers on Spotify but intend to release originals as well.
the aston is great to bring out that edge and almost like a vocal fry effect on a singer. i prefer the aston for vocals. i’d use the rode and also stack it with something else for instruments only. the rode has a bit too much body for me to what i like in vocals.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and leaving a comment!
I've been using the Rode NT1 since I bought my first one in 1998 - it's a great all round mic.
In this video I think the NT1 sounds better than the Aston.
For vocals nowadays I find myself preferring my AKG C214. I also use an SE-X1, which came with a great shockmount and acoustic surround
I also prefer the NT1 over the Aston 😊
Which one do you recommend to record voices and produce my songs Nt1 5TG OR Aston Origin
Overall, I prefer the Rode because it’s a better value for the money based on what the mic kit comes with.
On my laptop speakers, the NT1 was better. The Aston had some shrillness to it. That's just my laptop speakers, of course, and that's far from definitive.
Hey budgetkeyboardist, thanks for leaving a comment! The NT1 has better low end and sounds more neutral to my ears.
Can you tell us what is the app you use in the video plz
The recording software I use is Logic Pro. 😊
I would choose the Origin because of the cost.
Whoops, now they cost the same...flip a coin.
@@apostolicbible1 thanks for sharing your thoughts and leaving a comment!
as somebody who uses both a rode and and an aston mic, i can tell you the aston is my hands down favorite mic. granted mine is an aston spirit but the only real difference in the spirit and the origin is the size and you have more functional features on the actual microphone. they sound almost identical though. at this point i might even sell my spirit and buy an origin haha
has anyone ever told u that u sound a lot like kermit the frog? lol, also great video. love the nt1
Yes, multiple comments! The NT1 is a great mic.
😂😂😂
i'm an actor and multi-instrumentalist, and some of my instruments, especially accordion and bouzouki, could really use aston's high pass filter, but i would prefer not to have the brighter tone. anyone got any recommendations, is there any way to get that functionality out of the NT1 using software?
The NT1 will give you a more neutral sound than the Aston and less high end. You can easily apply EQ in post production to taylor the sound of the NT1 as well (like adding a high pass filter, boosting or cutting the top end with a shelf etc)… however, there is no pad switch on the NT1.
Here is a full tutorial on how to mix the NT1: th-cam.com/video/9QZt6IDN0PE/w-d-xo.html
With that being said, I do prefer brighter mics for recording acoustic instruments such as the NT1 Signature series or the LEWITT LCT440 PURE.
Here are reviews of those as well:
th-cam.com/video/MRMo-_tDX5k/w-d-xo.html
th-cam.com/video/fPGlOyy9G3Y/w-d-xo.html
Hope it helps! 😊
@@homestudioacademy the aston is much more seductive with the unique design and switch, but i feel like the rode is the better option starting out. i worry about high end being too much on my higher pitched instruments like the baglama (super high pitched) and at the top end of the accordion keyboard. and the 5th gen's dual XLR and USB C inbut is very nifty for travelling rigs
@@RunningRugby4 both great mics! I prefer the NT1 though for sound and price for the kit.
RODE NT1 5TH GEN OR ASTON SPIRIT
WHICH IS BEST..?
It really comes down to personal preference. In my opinion, I preferred the NT1
Bandrew has already declared NT1 as winner against Aston.
Podcastage rules!!! I love his content and strive to get to his level one day.
Dude that room resonance is painful, cmon man you work with sound
I appreciate the honest criticism. However, this video was shot almost half a year ago. My setup for spoken word videos has changed/improved since then 😊
Rode so good ❤
I won’t to ask you what the best audio interface for rode n t 1 4 th
I’ve tested quite a few interfaces here on the channel but it really comes down to your specific needs. What will you be recording? How many channels do you need? What is your budget? Let me know so I can recommend based on those specifics.
@@homestudioacademy
Thanks my brother 😍
For voiceover, the budget is $200
@@Qissa-Ai perfect! I’m actually releasing a review of my new favorite interface (Lewitt Connect 2) that is $200 this Monday morning. Stay tuned!
@@homestudioacademy
I'm waiting, but I was thinking I'd get the Scarlett 2i2 4th do you think it's good?
@@Qissa-Ai I’m not a fan of Focusrite interfaces. I highly encourage you (if you can) to watch the review and then decide for yourself.
Watermelon sugar
rode nt1 gen5?
In this video I covered the 4th generation which is my personal favorite.
The 5th gen is also a great choice and includes usb c connection which eliminates the need for an audio interface. However it does have a brighter sound.

@@homestudioacademy oh thank you so much
@@imnothandsome4205 you’re very welcome 😊
If my phone audio says anything...😐Aston sounded better immediately. Edit...sounded smooth. Rode seemed a bit brighter. Like i said, phone audio. Take this with a grain of salt.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 😊
Aston is uglier but sounds a bit better and clearer.
Hey VIDS! Thanks for leaving a comment! I actually prefer the NT1 both on looks and sound :)
@@homestudioacademywhatt the aston is pretty
@@btizzlenba7705 it’s a good looking mic but since I’m a minimalist I prefer the all black design on the NT1 😊
I have rode can I pass to Aston o Uad
What do you mean?
@@homestudioacademy sorry for my English I’m Italian I have a studio with rode nt1 you recommend to buy a Aston or Apollo, I have Apollo twin
@@matteoriva8189 I prefer the NT1 over the Aston. I love the Apollo. Here is my Apollo twin review in case you want to check it out: th-cam.com/video/E-4PdvJZ6eY/w-d-xo.html
@@homestudioacademy ok, if I need to change I take nuemann but it’s expensive
@@matteoriva8189 yeah Neumann are expensive. I think the NT1 will get you by many years of work. In the meantime you can save up and if by then you still upgrade, the go for it.
