Only problem with Echoes is once you start to listen you cannot stop, so everything you planned to will be delayed 23 minutes and 36 seconds.. But it will always be totally worth it.
You mean the only problem with echoes isn't even a problem!!!!
@@middlechild2022 That's another way to put it, yes. 🙂
so true. i just pop it on and am trying to figure out if I want to eat dinner that just got done .... 😀
The real problem with Echoes is that it ends.
I'm just cleaning my house bruh. This song slaps. That's the trick. Put this into your chore Playlist and it'll never feel like chores
We used to get real stoned and listen to Echoes in the dark, the only light was coming from the stereo😃Great times indeed😁ROCK ON!!!!!!!🤘🏻🤙🏻✌🏻

Definitely an 80's lover. I love everything from George Thorogood to Dolly Parton, all things in between. The Guess Who, Phil Collins, Michael Jackson, you name it, it's on my playlist. I think people forget how important music is. This album is a big reminder for me.

'Echoes' by Pink Floyd is an ABSOLUTE freakin masterpiece. The way it starts with those sonar like pings, it immediately sets this hypnotic tone. The whole piece feels like a journey through space and time, blending seamlessly from one section to the next. Gilmour's guitar work is ETHEREAL, and Wright's keyboards create this incredible atmosphere. The middle section, with those eerie whale sounds, is haunting and beautiful at the same time. It's amazing how they crafted a 23 minute track that not a single second feels boring or repetitive. Every listen reveals something new. Truly one of the greatest among the greatest pieces of progg rock ever made.
Out of body experience masterpiece!
"Live at Pompeii" version better!!!
It is a work of genius. It still blows my mind after 52 years of listening to it.
gils new album is out soon man
I think the 'live at Pompeii' version is the best One available to the masses. There are some bootleg versions that are superior to that but they're hard to come by - They are truly masterpieces‼️ @@timreding4364

What a group, what a song! My dad got the vinyl for his 19th birthday from his friend Régis and he passed it on to me on my 18th. Thanks Régis !!!!!
Nothing like a vinyl sound...
My favorite part of that song is at 18:14 ❤❤❤
67 years young this is and always will be timeless ❤️🔥👍
Masterpiece
Overhead the albatross
Hangs motionless upon the air
And deep beneath the rolling waves
In labyrinths of coral caves
The echo of a distant time
Comes willowing across the sand
And everything is green and submarine
And no one showed us to the land
And no one knows the where's or why's
But something stirs and something tries
And starts to climb toward the light
Strangers passing in the street
By chance, two separate glances meet
And I am you and what I see is me
And do I take you by the hand
And lead you through the land
And help me understand the best I can?
And no one calls us to move on
And no one forces down our eyes
No one speaks and no one tries
No one flies around the sun
Cloudless everyday
You fall upon my waking eyes
Inviting and inciting me to rise
And through the window in the wall
Come streaming in on sunlight wings
A million bright ambassadors of morning
And no one sings me lullabies
And no one makes me close my eyes
So I throw the windows wide
And call to you across the sky
Ain't this pure, evocative, visionary poetry?
Thank you.
Hmm
Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup
They slither wildly as they slip away across the universe
Pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting through my opened mind
Possessing and caressing me
Jai guru deva, om
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Images of broken light which dance before me like a million eyes
They call me on and on across the universe
Thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letterbox they
They tumble blindly as they make their way across the universe
Thank you!
Imagine being there to witness this live at Pompeii...
No body was there it was just the band and the film crew along with technicians
@@pepsiman553While true, it still would have been incredible to have been able to see that in person.
The best case scenario would to have been outside of the Pompeii Coliseum and listening to it while they played.. that would have been amazing to hear.. especially imagining the peoples reactions to hearing it as they walked by..

Saw them play this live 3 times
Echoes is not only one of my favourite Pink Floyd songs, but one of my favourite songs in the entire musical history. It is also one of the tracks I have listened to the most and continue to listen to. Even now, after listening to it on TH-cam, I felt an indescribable emotion. You put it so well, mon ami. This music is eternal, not just for us lucky enough to first hear it 53 years ago. Timeless. Beautiful. Mysterious. And Floyds greatest work was yet to come!
Happy birthday, Mr. Gilmour! ❤🔥
1973. In my room. On my king-sized waterbed. Marantz receiver and speakers plus two other speakers with horn tweeters. Turntable playing this song on real vinyl. Blacklight. Insence. And I wasn't alone. Her name was Nora. Aaaah, the memories.
I got goosebumps thinking about that.

I heard a lot of music. A lot of bands and a lot of songs. I have to say that this is the greatest song ever created from what I have heard.
I agree, it's amazing!
Have you heard "Salisbury" of Uriah Heep?
Pink Floyd truly is a reliable band, I am truly thankful I came to this album and listened to it.
Never tire of listening to this track, even though I first heard it almost fifty three years ago. Probably my favourite Floyd track, well that is until I play Set the Controls, Dogs, Comfortably Numb, High Hopes, Time.........and so on. Favourite band of all time.
Don't forget Syd Barret Arnold Layne/ See Emily Play/ Lucifer Sam /
First song I ever heard on vinyl, I’ll never forget that feeling. Thanks Dad.
The greatest song Pink Floyd ever put on record.
Echoes - a modern day symphony.
Imagine hearing this in a restaurant
I’ve never been interrupted by so many ads while trying to listen to this song
I don’t mind someone pissing on my parade, I don’t mine someone farting in my soup, but someone throwing an ad in the middle of Echoes deserves to have their thyroid removed! Warning do not drop acid while listening to this on TH-cam.

A friend of mine and I were out riding one night, getting stoned. Pink Floyd had been a staple on the radio but we never understood what the songs meant. One song came on the radio after we were pretty far out there, and we both turned to look at each other at the same time and our jaws dropped. We both said, now I get it. It was in the early 80’s.
I have Echoes in my will to be played at my funeral/wake. With a beer and joint
Awesome

Can I come to your funeral? Sounds like fun 😵😶🌫️😇
Best way to go, buddy. We all gotta go sometime, so let Floyd ferry you across the water.
That will be a really, really long goodbye, mate. But obviously a nice funeral. Thumbs up
This was one of my first Pink Floyd songs that I've heard. Now Pink Floyd is one of my favorite bands and his music helped me a lot in a hard moment of my live. This song gives me beautiful memories of taht years that I never apreciated until was late.
Sorry if I comited some mistake in my english xd
Just another masterpiece. Music for the soul. Majestic.
My favorite Pink Floyd song. Saw them at Soldiers Field in Chicago at 14 yrs old. No parents, took the train from the suburbs with friends. It was in June 1977, Animals tour. Unfortunately, they didn’t play Echo’s. Still my favorite concert!
👍... Echoes is my favorite.
Animals is a great album, very underrated, and lesser known to some.
I was 12 in 77, and you were blessed by the Gods to see The Floyd on that day at Soldier Field... Lucky you. Be well.
All these guys brought something to the table that will probably never see its like again. Thank all you guys so much, and forever Shine On.
Shine on you crazy diamonds.. shine on.
For me - even after 47 years (I was 17) - it is still fascinating and incomprehensible how one can make such music. Incredibly good!
i was 14 when i first discovered pink floyd, and i am now 15 soon to be 16, and i love their songs, i had chills and tears when listening to their music and saying “so fucking beautiful”
👏💪🏻🫶🏻
You give me hope for the younger generations brother. If you like Pink Floyd check out The Moody Blues too.
Share with your friends mate. In my opinion, Pink Floyd is an academic music lesson of life. Something that should be teach to pupils.
Wish I was 14 again and discovering Pink Floyd for the very first time.
@@sunnsnowmussoorie3557 to be 14 back in the 80's or earlier YES! I feel sorry for the kids today. Over the past 15-20 years old timers stopped saying, "You kids today have it made." Look I love pink Floyd with all my heart. I can play all of The Wall, Animals, Meddle, and Pipers on Guitar and Bass. But what was that "real music" comment supposed to be. If you can't find SOMETHING in every genre that you enjoy that I think you fundamental misunderstand Art.
I just realized that trying so hard to detach yourself can make you attached to something. I finally understand what this song is all about.
The best song of all time. Possibly the definitive symphony of the 20th century
The music magic of Pink Floyd will live on forever, absolutely timeless and peerless. There simply is no other .
This is not just a song. It is a monumental achievement of humanity, akin to the moon landing. Pink Floyd will always be the greatest band ever.

So, the best ever. No question?. And when you think of any other possibilities, only the same band comes to mind.
What an echo chamber. You surely are kinda joking. Top 50 sure. Maybe 15. It IS pure greatness. But come the fuck on.
It is absolutely marvelous that these tracks get put on youtube for people to enjoy through the bands own channel. At this point anyone should realize that the songs are and will be available online, whether it is through official channels or not, so much better to have them available at the quality they were originally intended with the proceeds going where they should. I have always seen this song as being about going through something difficult and then emerging as a better version of yourself. The song establishes a melody and it then goes into the dark, chaotic phase. Then the melody emerges stronger than it was before that interlude.
My dad borrowed this album from me and listened to it over and over...in the end, I just bought another copy so I could enjoy it again.😅
He would have returned it “One of these Days”😊

7:01 my favorite section. So damn funky!
True that, one of the most replayed sections of the song!
49 years young so my Pink Floyd experience started with my Dad putting big hifi earphones on me, leaning me all the way back in his lay-Z-boy recliner and listening to DSOTM from beginning to end without getting up. As a 5 year old I felt like I’d traveled through space and back.
Fast forward to 17 years old and I had listened to all the Pink Floyd albums except Meddle, it was the only one my dad didn’t own. So went and bought it, on cassette tape, got stoned and was listening to it alone in my basement bedroom pretty loudly. It was a crazy bizarre new type of music I’d never heard Pink Floyd play, or any band play, ever. The lyrics were mumbled and incoherent, the riffs and rhythms seemed alien, it definitely wasn’t instant love, but I was going to grind it out and learn to appreciate this groundbreaking accomplishment, and as I’m really diving deep into my brain my step mom barges in. “What is this god awful crap!” “Turn it off I can’t think!” “It’s dinner time”. I begrudgingly pause it thinking she just doesn’t get progressive music, and go eat. Later on I’m back in my room examining the tape and trying decipher what songs I’d listened to, and notice the tape film was crossed over on itself and had been playing backwards the entire
time. I was able to fish the tape out and uncross it and finally listen to it normally. I didn’t give my stepmom the pleasure of being right about it sounding awful until decades later, but I made her listen to the normal version at that time since we were at my condo. She still didn’t appreciate it, she never was a big Pink Floyd fan anyways, but did laugh at the fact I defended backwards Pink Floyd before considering her musical taste or opinion.
