    The best advice from my personal path to enjoy playing with instead of strugling to learn Portuguese is this - become fluent in French Spanish & Italian first Then you have jollies playing with Portuguese It is guaranteed to work Ask Virginia if still in doubt It sure helps if you also know Arabic

  • @opal_skies97
    @opal_skies97 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Eu tenho um pergunta! When conjugating verbs, like for instance comer, do I need to use Eu when conjugating for I? Or is it usually implied?

    • @SpeakingBrazilian
      @SpeakingBrazilian  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      In Portuguese, the use of the personal pronouns NÓS and EU is usually optional. For example:
      Eu sou professora. = Sou professora.
      Eu estudo português. = Estudo português.
      Nós comemos pizza. = Comemos pizza.
      Nós estamos na sala. = Estamos na sala.
      In colloquial language it is very common not to say the pronouns NÓS and EU and say only the verb. It is easy to imply the pronoun because of the conjugation of the verb.
      When using the other pronouns (você, ele, ela, vocês, eles, elas), we usually say the pronoun because it would be confusing if we didn't. But if the pronoun has been already mentioned before, then it's ok not to say it. For example:
      - Ele está vindo? (Is he coming?)
      - Sim, está vindo. (Yes, he's coming).
      I hope this helps.
