It's really simple to explain with these four statements:
1. It's the rule 34: IF it exist it's possible to made porn out of it, it's not a rule , its almost a unbreakable law of this world.
2. the pokémon design. The more diverse are the designs, more horrible things could be made. We have anime girls, husbandos, and animals (which could be classified just as furries), some even with anthropomorphised bodies.
3. The older the Franchise and the deeper the fandom are, the worse it could become
4. We have the fact that in the 4 gen exist a book which says that in the ancient Sinnoh, marriage between humans and pokemon were a legal thing. Game Freak almost unwittingly gave all the tools to less depraved minds be able to do atrocities.

@@CocoLocoToco Well, it comes down to how you want to define value.
Take a second and remove the sexual content from "Rule 34" (Which I know, it is literally the rule of "we make porn out of everything" but bear with me for a moment). Without that sexuality, Rule 34 is simply an expression of fan art. In that lens, it is good because people making fan art is good. It is healthy for a fan community, it is excellent and from what I understand nearly universally needed to make future great artists (everyone copies the art of other people first) and it is an expression of creativity.
But, now put the sexual content back in, and what changes? Well, firstly, nothing about the good has actually changed, except some people would argue that sexual content isn't good for the fan community. But... well, why not? Clearly if someone is making sexual art then there is something about that art that spoke to them, and therefore logically, there is something that will speak to others.
Additionally, Rule 34 can (and I will repeat, can, not does) offer a lot of creativity. For some art styles, it requires adding additional details or features that didn't exist, and this can be good from a technical stand point, as it forces the artist to work on things like proportion that otherwise don't exist. And it then becomes more transformative. The Art is less copying the original, and now is transforming it using your own style, or copying a style yet again, and showing you how to change styles.
Additionally... well, "The West" as I will say, is generally incredibly prudish about bodies and sexuality. We have a lot of angst around things like "how to depict women" and how we interact with sexual content. Rule 34 is a gateway into that discussion that can (and again, can, not always) be a very positive take. It provides an outlet, and as Gnoggin said, our brains need that outlet. We need something to latch onto. And it is also a look back. Classical art did not shy away from naked bodies or anatomical correctness. There were art movements that allowed for and discussed the pure beauty of the naked human form. Rule 34 speaks in that same direction. Or it can be done for sexual comedy. That's actually a thing.
Then Rule 34 art can lead to captioning and doujin. People taking the art, and telling stories involving it. And once you start telling stories, you start exploring concepts. Ideas of power, control, morality, sensuality, the connections between people, wholesomeness. I know a lot of people see, and even a sizable amount of the art ends up being, nothing but vapidness, but if you end up digging around long enough, you find incredibly good stuff. Powerful art, heart-touching stories, it is all there.

But, let me ask something about one of your objections. You said porn is "gross". Now, I have seen gross porn, and I've seen some r34 stuff that is in poor taste or gratuitous that I thought was a bit gross. However, your objection seems more general, as though you think all porn is gross.
Why?
I'm thinking of a specific piece I found a while back, saved it for a story I'm writing. It was rule 34 art of Zelda. However, it was pretty tame in "theme" it was just her, in modern gym clothes, with a 12 pack and some sweat, life she had just left the gym. A lot of people would say that it isn't even r34, but someone thought it was because that's the type of site I found it on.
And depending on your definitions and tolerances, sexual content is everywhere. Take Jasmine from Aladdin as a simple example. Not only her design but she goes into some heavy flirtation to distract Jafar. Some people would define that scene as sexually charged.
And again, I will never say all r34 art is good. Some of it is bad technically, some of it is gratuitous and off-putting... but that is true of all art. There is "horror" art that I find to just be gore and violence and nothing else, and in that same vein I've seen very very bad r34 art. But even the bad stuff, someone had an artistic message they wanted to send. Some of them are just bad at messaging. Some of them have bad messages, but the act of creative engagement means that they found something they enjoyed in the media that inspired it. The same impulse that caused someone to draw sexy gym Zelda also caused someone to animate a wholesome short about adorkable Zelda and link texting each other, or to write a fanfic where they explore Zelda's life before the fall of Hyrule.
It is all "I love this character and want to express that with my talents" some people's talents just lie in a sexual direction, for whatever reason, and I personally struggle to find anything wrong with that, seeing how natural sexual urges and situations are to humanity

Honestly, I’m just surprised at the fact that people are able to put human _features_ on Pokémon and make it look natural.
That's the thing with Furry art, im not a furry but someone that studied art, ergonomics and anatomy on college and i find quite interesting the fact that furry artists pay WAY more attention to anatomy than regular artists, that is why it looks natural they know who the human body is and looks and they can distord it to fit any kind of form, im not a furry, but i like the art of some furry artist just bc of who good they represent the human body(Miles DF is a great example), furry artist have to pay more attention to the anatomy to make it look natural or the whole anthropomorphic illusion doesnt work

I recently rewatched the original pokemon series and there was one episode that stood out to me. There was an episode with a doctor called Dr. Proctor (a proctologist is a doctor that specializes in the butt) and he made a remark to Misty where he said "I've just never been able to refuse requests from young girls". All the girls in the episode seem to love him too. I thought that was a bit cheeky of the Pokemon company.
I remember that episode. Not the entire episode but I do remember that he thought Misty was his patient when it was like Pikachu or something. The Pokemon center was busy and full or something. And the guy was friends with Nurse Joy.

The biggest factor you didn't bring up? Pokémon are easy to draw.
Nobody is born an amazing artist, it is a skill you develop through practice. Cartoons like Pokémon are a good way to practice your drawing fundamentals. Once you get good, drawing a Pokémon can be relatively easy. And what if you want to draw for a living? Well you gotta make money somehow. Turns out, drawing porn is one of the easiest way for an above average artist to start making money. Also, if you aren't a furry, porn for you is usually pictures or video of naked people. Easy. But if you like catgirls, well they don't exist. You need someone to make a suit or more likely draw it. So its a perfect storm of multiple factors. The vast majority of porn for furries is drawn, and pokemon are easy to draw, and artists gotta make money, and Pokémon is the biggest media franchise especially among millenials, etc.
Damn, wish I could draw anything more than dragons in detail now.

@@majamystic256 Practice. Drawing is a skill no one is good at at first. But people say practice makes perfect, but more accurately perfect practice makes perfect. So what I think would be a good way to start would be to practice copying official pokemon art at first. Then once you've got a handle on that, try drawing them in poses that mimic porn you can find. Then you can move on to original work.
