I came across this channel when it was first started. I stumbled upon it again looking for light gun games. This time I subscribed! These are well made videos. Good luck, I hope this channel takes off in the next year
Sinden and Gun4Ir both work about equally well with no noticable gameplay difference between them. Sinden has the white border but you dont have to set up sensors. So they may be a better option for a living room you can keep your living room TV looking nice! Gun4ir has the option to mod any gun you can find so you can get much higher quality real arcade guns modded to Gun4IR and with those comes much more powerful recoil! Again there are trade offs more recoil means a large heavier solenoid making the guns much heavier and also a power cable to deal with! RPEG is in New York and he has tp pay those NY bills so you are paying him like $200/hour if not more for his soldering work! Gun4IR can be had for way cheaper if you build them yourself. You can build one in like 30-60 minutes depending on how fast you watch and solder along with the video! Of course no one is shilling for the DIY option so you generally only see RPEG Gun4IR 's on TH-cam channels. Sinden light guns are notoriously difficult to set up and ger working witn emulators but with the prevalence of all of the Sinden light gun pre made builds out there this is not really a problem. I have a much more difficult finding premade Gun4IR builds in any of the favorite emulator sites! I guess because of the price Gun4IR is a much more boutique item so less people make builds for them or if there is a build for them they are sold not in the free download locations!! Just food for thought! The famous shill is the Sinden white border is a horror but really you are probably going to have a border anyways because most arcade games are 4:3 and when you are focused on shooting what is on screen you don't even notice the white border ( the border color can also be changed) . Aimtracks are S**T and avoid Aimtracks but Gin4IR or Sinden you can't go wrong! No experience with Retro Shooter but their recoil sound grates on my ears judging from video's. REtor shooter should work well now that they are using 4 IR sensors. I have no hands on time with Retro Shooter though so not much to say about them.
Saving up my pennies to get my Jolt and an Aimtrak converted both at the same time. It's the final piece for the shooter cab, but it'll be worth the wait. The Automatic/Autofire is a huge feature as its great for the traditional positional rapid fire games like T2, LA Machineguns, etc with constant recoil as you hold it.
I really like how you hardly notice the GUN4IR sensors. For me seeing that Sinden white border would take me out of the experience. If I haven't said it already your multicade looks totally epic! 😃😀😀
Great video as always. I have both of Joel's Gun4IR and Sinden light-gun builds and they are both great. Whatever you have you will enjoy. While I 100% agree that Gun4IR is better, what I really like is how I am now hearing Joel at Retro Lizard being discovered and mentioned on the all channel's I follow. Kong, Ralph, PDubs, MichaelB, and of course I've enjoyed your conversations with him very much. I hope 2024 will be a great year for Joel as his amazing work deserves to be spotlighted, as you are doing today. Great Job. One last thing, I would love to see a video on how to make an ahk file. I am familiar with them but don't quite understand how they are made. And you are teaching me things. So thanks for the lesson.
Yep, gotta say I prefer the GUN4IR over the sinden system. I'm not a fan of the white border, nor do I like the way it seems that the crosshars drag in rgards to how fast it registers where you're pointing on the screen. I don't own any of the systems personally, but have watched several reviews from RetroRalph and other youtubers on both systems.
crosshairs drag because of the windows mouse speed setting. It is a Windows thing. Even if the corsshairs seem slow you can snap and point to anywhere on the screen and the shot will register. I.E. You can go from gun pointed down and snap to on screen anywhere on the screen and the shot will register perfect. I have tested Sinden and Gunfor IR and both work equally well.
Question: I want to use a gun4ir gun, and I'd like to find an off the shelf cabinet system to use that's compatible (or could easily be). Any suggestions?

I love light gun games! I’ll definitely have to look into these. Although I am super picky since I own Carn Evil, Crisis Zone and Virtua Cop 2!
