You are actually a living encyclopedia of GPUs, like an electronics engineer who designs these boards, is not normal for a person to know this much about these particular PCBS, never seen too much success on bring to life GPUS like you do.
BIOS Chip Select line is either high or low. High means the chip is in idle standby mode, low means the chip is in active mode (data can be read/written to the BIOS chip). Nothing in between. Not sure what you were trying to say there.
Wow I think I’ve never had a shorted logic gate, I would have thought that since the perst signal is shorted vcore wouldn’t be there, since the perst_buf would be missing and is usually needed for the pok signal on ir3576b and the newer ir35217 pwm controllers. Amazing video !
I have a little wonder hope you can help me out.I got a faulty powercorlor RX 570 that have an burn out MOSFET. It burn so deep that I have to cut out that power phase. The problem is IIR3567b detect an missing phase and disable core. What cant i do with pwm pin to trick it that all the phase ok and let me boot up the gpu? Sorry for any bad grammar, English is'n my mother tongue.
Holy...the amount of infomation you put on this video is just awesome man, I do fix video card my self and whenever I got hand to a card with full voltage and no post I assume it was an Bios which some time does some time does'n work. Verry great fixing, youre so skilled and hope we meet again in another videos.
My hat is down to you man. U really know these GPUs inside out. All voltages are present, no reading from bios chip, this GPUs was an Ewaste. Ur a master without schematics and board diagrams.
I'm sure that if you have checked the PWM signal on core phases with your oscilloscope you would have noticed there was no signal (despite the voltage reading). I'm saying that because this AND gate you replaced is probably being used as PW_GOOD or PW_EN input signal for the PMIC. I say that because if someone without previous experience tries to understand the fault finding methodology won't be able to do it. In my humble opinion the correct order to find the fault is to start checking the power supplies and the power phases of the core and going in reverse order. This of course requires a schematic and some experience.
It's astonishing to see how you were able to diagnose and repair such a recent GPU given that it's highly unlikely AMD or Nvidia (or their AIB partners) are giving you any schematics or documentation to go on!
Is there any remotely good reason why they wouldn't give out those schematics? I mean, you'd think it would be bad PR for them to try to withold that kind of thing. It's mostly only the high-end graphics cards which are worth repairing (or most worth repairing) and customers of these kinds of products tend to be more knowledgeable and picky. We should try to pressure them into giving up the schematics, or at least give out the most useful information for doing repair work (some schematic info might not be needed for most repairs). The high cost of graphics cards these days has really increased the demand for, and also the feasibility of, repairing these graphics cards. As long as the cost of repair is less than, or even equal to the cost of repair, then repair is generally worth it, especially if the repair company won't charge you anything (or will only charge you a small fee) if they are unable to repair it.
Wow, I don’t think I’ve heard anyway so sooooo many words , as fast as you! Just fantastic deduction skills….you have another thumbs up and subscriber, looking forward to more repair vids…thank you.
Usually the word "short" refers to unintentional (damaged) or temporary (troubleshooting) connections. When a circuit is functioning as designed, we often say a particular pin is being "clamped" to ground, or being "driven" low. That will vary by dialect, but we're definitely getting carried away with the word "short" here, gets hard to follow.
Interesting, from my repair experience if the card have all voltages but no image and motherboard beeps it's BIOS chip issue because it's working as secondary card but all the info on GPUZ are blank. Even tho the card has dual BIOS it's still not working unless if i replace the BIOS chip. Thanks for the video btw, this is a whole new info for me.
Wondering about, how realistic repair ratio looks like ? I would assume majority of gpu failures are caused by gpu die problem. As failed VRM zapps the gpu with 12V and Only handful of AND/OR gate problems.
Another video overflowing with information. A couple notes : *Usually the word "short" refers to unintentional (damaged) or temporary (troubleshooting) connections. When a circuit is functioning as designed, we often say a particular pin is being "clamped" to ground, or being "driven" low. That will vary by dialect, but we're definitely getting carried away with the word "short" here, gets hard to follow. *Also, the Chip Select (CS) line of the BIOS chip simply enables the BIOS chip. Not sure what you were trying to say there, but there's nothing noteworthy about the transition phase between 0 and 1.8V. When CS is clamped low, the BIOS chip is activated and can be read/written to; when CS goes high, the BIOS chip is in low-power standby mode. Nothing in between, CS is either low or high, chip is either enabled or not.
Your work is incredible! But how did you find out that the and gate is connected to these 2 (0 ohm) resistors ? Using continuity mode and testing many components ?
This particular card is like unicorn. Extremely rare. Amd 6000 series still in shortage, Sapphire is not so large vendor, cut down navi 21 is rare due to higher than expected binning (most of the dies goes to 6800xt and 6900xt), and pulse line was abandoned in favor of the nitro+. So no pcb pictures, no reviews, no failure statistics. But I've seen some folks on r/radeon who have this card.
Brilliant as always, give this man money, he is a genius, finally glad you did an AMD card!! seem to be a bit more technical than a Nvidia but hey thats me!!!

I am searching for the value of a fuse on a 2060 from palit , any Idea what i could Use ?
8 pins generally use 20A fuses, and 6 pins and PCIe pins for 12V are generally connected to a 10A fuse.
@@TechCemetery And at the pcie slot ?
so it would be 20A at what voltage ? just 12 V ?
8 pin = 20A, 6 pin = 10A, PCIe slot = 10A

I am trying to find some of them and it says they are rated for 20 A at 125 VDC , would that be right ?
