  • The black quarter panels and trim on my daughter's car have oxidized over the years and I've found something that actually works.

    Assuming you watched Project Farm and his test. I did as well. And now yours. I’m sold. Headed to Walmart for that product tonight. 👍

      It worked well. I definitely had some existing flaws in the plastic that this stuff won’t address but did not have the streaking I see some folks mention. I washed the heck out of the plastic with dawn and a stiff bristled brush to get as much crud out of the texture. Think that’s important.

    I also have an Element, and happened to try the Cerakote vs the Turtle Wax product I have used on my other vehicle. So far it has been well over a month and the plastic body panels still look great with the Cerakote applied. I found with the other product, it looked good for a few days, but eventually looked worse than never applying anything at all. I went over mine twice, using the pads sparingly. .... I used five pads total. Then I went over it with a micro fiber towel to give it a light 'buff'. I feel that evens it out some so it doesn't look a bit splotchy. I liked it so much i went out and bought another box of Cerakote. Only somewhat negative thing I could say is the cost. The Cerakote is waaaaay more expensive for the amount of applications you get out of the package / bottle of the competitors, but.... I found the Cerakote well worth the extra cost.
    On a side note... the SC wheels look great on that Element!

      Our stories are very similar. My daughter's Element still looks good, haven't had to re-apply yet. I'm going to try on my SUV running boards and see if I get the same results.

    Looking good. I found a product 303 Aerospace Protectant. It prevents sun fade. I use it on my Royalex canoe and Element.

    • @papadonjetski9535
      @papadonjetski9535  ปีที่แล้ว

      Does the 303 work on all plastics? The Cerakote works great, but not on all plastics.

    I use back to black and it works just fine for me. I've had the same bottle for about a year and a half and when it's done I'm going to try "the Toaster" or this one, we'll see.

      On second thought my Element originally came with grey panels, and the back to black gave it a smokey dark hue, which I've grown accustomed to.

    I have an '05 and it has the light grey/dark grey combo. Do you know if the cerrakote works on the lighter color? Does the cerrakote actually impart a color? Thanks.

    • @thesummitbums1215
      @thesummitbums1215 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Cerakote seems to bring out the natural color of whatever plastics you use it on while others will stain a microfiber cloth black. Id feel safe using this on the blue/silver and brown/khaki combo

      It still looks good, and so it was worth the $19 spent. However, it doesn't work on all plastics. I tried it on my trailer's plastic toolbox, a jet ski bumper, and it didn't work.
