Just a mention, the latest v5 of the E-Tube Project software is not compatible with the PCE-01 PC Link Device so if you are using a PCE-01 don't install v5, it won't work. v5 I am assuming is designed to work with the PCE-02. I just have the PCE-01 unit so am sticking with v4 as all I really need to do is to have the facility to reinstall firmware if I need to and to keep the firmware up to date, I can't justify buying the PCE-02 for such occasional use!

I had a w011 error for speed sensor, second time now, and they suspected i made some home made changes on the bike, which i did not. So i wanted to check it myself, to see on what ground they accuse me. I don`t know, still pricey for a tool to use once maximum twice a year.

Thanks. On the back of the display there are several ports. Most likely one or two of them are just blinded with a plug. Remove a plug and insert the cable from the PCE02.

Is it possible to change the wheel size with this app/adapter? My bike still thinks it is running on 29'', even though I swapped them to 27.5'' ... so speed and distance is incorrect all the time ...

Just an available port at the back of the display. Depending on what motor and display you've got, the PC02 plug might not fit without an adapter from old to new type plug.

Short update, the PCE1 had 2 cables and one of them fitted the SC-6100 head unit fine. The firmware rewrite went perfectly smoothly and there is no way I would try to do this again with the Wireless/Bluetooth option on a mobile phone again. The wired option was just so much more reliable, faster and simpler, just a shame that the black box to do it doesn’t come cheap.

Excellent review, thank you. Just had E034 on my ep8, struggled to update firmware but finally got sorted. Some on-line say you cannot recover from a trashed firmware update and need this gizmo(or dealership) to hard wire in.... ;-)
Apparently I need a EW-AD305 adapter to go from the old style EW-SD50 to the new, smaller EW-SD300. A short length of the EW-SD300 cable would be useful also. This took way too long to figure out.
Was able to reflash with Android phone, finally. Killed all Blue Tooth pairings, put in airplane mode, only turned on the minimum and then shut it off and it restored on the first try. Back on the trails, yay!

Hi. Not sure I understand. The SC-EM800 will work with the EP8. Both displays connect by wire. Most likely the existing cable will work for the EM800. I believe the SC-E5003 is using the new cable. If I'm mistaken, there are adapters available to make the EM800 work. I've never tried connecting two displays simultaneously, if that's what your considering. I wanna say it won't work, but who knows (:

The region settings can not be altered in PCE-02, at least not with the basic user. I guess it's possible with the OEM level access, which almost no one has.
The Shimano PIN is quite annoying, most other brands don't see the need for it. I don't know of any other ways to reset it. I believe all zeroes always was the default code, allthough some said 123456.
I would assume so. I don't know of any other hardware for the Shimano steps+di2. There is a PCE01 too that might work, but it's not produced any more afaik.
1 year late but still going to reply in case it helps someone else. For the "new" 12s Di2, you'll need V5 of the software and you'll need the SM-PCE02 hardware.

I am very curious, Shimano is replacing my EP8 as the one way sprague was starting to pile up, and the dealer is telling me that this box is needed to program the new motor. Is that legit? I feel they are trying to get one over on me. Or do I just pay the $100.00? Thanks!
This sounds strange to me. Is this a Shimano Steps shop? Every Shimano Service Center should have this tool, and they need a higher level of access. The end user haven't got access to all the functionality. OEM level access is needed to set the motor angle. That could be done before the motor is shipped though, I guess.
@@EMTBVideos Sorry I may not have been clear, yes they have the tool, and are going to charge me $100.00 CND for them to be able to set up the motor. Or if they could get a tool to sell they would sell the tool to me. Either way, seems like I am getting hosed. Apparently Shimano is giving them, and therefore me a totally virgin motor.

They send the motor to Shimano so they can reset. But for real, i think there is a way to reset. But they keep it very secret. How do you get it ? Using a dongle or manipulate magnet position. I have an dongle here now ,but im afraid of using it now.

So for real i think they dont even send it to Shimano, but thats Just a theory. I payed round 150 €.
Does the bike have to be turned on for this to work? My ep8 botched an update and now it will not turn on longer than 4 seconds then turns back off. The app can’t connect long enough to force an update.
It fixed it once I plugged it in and redownloaded the old software from shimanos site. Still going strong. Just not going to connect to the app anymore. Really no need to if it works perfect every time.

End users will have limited access in the e-tube project professional software. There are different levels of access for shops and oems.

Hi, at 1:39 in your video you can select up to 85NM. I have the EP6 and can only select up to 50NM. Anyone know how to help?
Hi, not sure what's going on. The EP6 should offer 85 Nm too. But I guess it could be limited to 50 Nm in the ECO setting...

No, don't think so. Not without dealer or oem-level access. There's a few things missing when you use the app as an end user.

At some point, my bt code isn anymore 6 zeroes...only with this I can reset it or someone has the answer?😢

The bike has to be switched on, and I believe I connected it before turning on the bike.
@@EMTBVideos i received today pce02 system and it wasn't necessary to switch on the bike. Fortunally i was able to repear à defect firmware update .
