Once a year a Song sung in Te Reo Maori is released to promote "Maori Language Week" this waiata being one. The first released was "Aotearoa" by Stan Walker but since then the last three years or so this group of talented singers have done us the honour to release the annual song.

Just came upon your channel. Your reactions are soooo local boy. 🤙 Orinally from Oahu, but have lived in Texas since 1982.
Other reactors have done IZ's video (Somewhere over the Rainbow). I guess because it's in English.
Mahalo nui loa for highlighting our cousins from 'Aotearoha, and hopefully our other South Pacific cousins.
    One video that hits my pu'uwai is Ku Ha'aheo e Ku'u Hawai'i.

Tena Koe e te parata, pai ki te kite i a koe me tou mahi ipurangi, tetahi ano tou aroha ki taku kainga, te kainga o toku iwi a Aotearoa, tenei te mihi ki a koe
Hello bruddah, great to see your work on youtube and to see your love for my home or the home of my people Aotearoa New Zealand, just a quick note bruv, no negatives brother, kia ora can also be used as thank you or to agree with something someone is saying, same thing with 'Tena koe' it can also be used as a greeting 'Tena koe' being singular or individual and 'Tena tatou' being greetings to all who are here along side you and 'Tena koutou' being used to give thanks to hosts on behalf of yourself or your group.
Loved your vid of our people bruv, Kia kaha, Kia maia, Kia manawanui

Tena koe :) You said "ka kite ano" and "tena koe" well. "koe" literally means "you" (one person). "Tena koe" can be literally translated to "you there" but you are absolutely right, it is used to say thank you and hello in a really respectful way, good to say when you meet a person for the first time. if you want to say hello/thank you to two people you say "tena korua", three or more people you say "tena koutou". Sorry for the Maori lesson I just go super excited at you speaking Maori lol. Nice reaction
