As for the football during his tenure it was fantastic. Those European nights were magic and some great Pl campaigns and memories. A shame it ended the way it did.
Ridsdale definitely dropped a bollock sacking O'Leary. If he hadn't been sacked even if we were upto our eyes in debt if O'Leary would have had to sell players he would have more than kept us in the premier League. He was sacked for finishing 5th not just the book. As a manager i actually loved him more than Bielsa. In 4 seasons we finished 5th twice 4th & 3rd. When he was sacked at the end of the season another season together we could have possibly won the league. He still lives in Harrogate.
David only spent the money because Risdale let him. We got to 2 euro semi finals with loads of injuries but the squad played out of their skin for him. Is any Leeds fan going to tell me they didn't enjoy the football we played and the great players we had . We didn't win anything but we were one of the top 5 Premier league clubs and I loved it
As a Villa fan I can tell you that O’Dreary as he was known at Vila never arrived at our club as he was still living in the past at Leeds . I loved it when he famously called Villa fans as fickle . They replied back to him with banners at their next home game at Villa Park with banners saying “ We’re NOT fickle …….We just don’t like you ! “. Love it !👍
Legend met him when he was Leeds manager got a signed Jersey from him. If we didn't sack him we'd have never went down. Venebels and Reid were a disaster after he left. Ridsdale was the problem at Leeds. O'Leary came up against Wenger and Fergie at there peak and never finished lower than 5th great going.
As a Leeds fan I would like to blame Ridsdale for handling of Leeds finances.
We never got over The Bowyer/Woodgate incident 😢
@@stevemonaghan6011 Bowyer took the rap for Woodgate!
@garyfryer5334 Woodgate's mate took it for them both 👍
Yes.What a team.Sadly it all fell apart. I blame Risdale too.

He had a good playing career and was a good manager at Leeds
He never wasted his career, poor advertising.
Yet another trashy AI generated video.

O’Leary was made a scapegoat by Ridsale, I thought O’Leary did an amazing job at Leeds
O'Leary did a great job at Leeds
Should never have been sacked for finishing 5th!!!! Started our demise to a subsequent 16 years in the 2nd tier wilderness of English football.
O'leary was great for leeds. Built a mighty fne team and was very unlucky with injuries. Scape goated by Ridsdale 100%
David o.leary is no failure he's always welcome back at ell Rd with open arms
This is ignorant nonsense. Ridsdale was the one who made the financial deals , not O'Leary.
I can't Bowyer and Woodgate never went down.
If you can afford top legal representation you can get away with most things.

He was a very greedy man and a massive egomaniac.
Must be stable type as he spent his career at arsenal.A very good defender in a team of good defenders
A fantastic footballer
Ridsdale should have said no more soending
What a great player🎉
All that money and he won nowt, did nowt at Villa as well, not heard from him since, no surprise that.
Ridsdale who ran Leeds into the ground.
It all stems from Ridsdale...but was O'Leary a good manager??
What's tragic about this?
Rubbish. Blocking this channel
