Hey I think we both have some similarities. Like all the other armies are biased over some of their famous songs , while you and me like whalien ( so underrated) , 4'o clock ( not a official one ) born singer and you never walk alone are never talked about. Like other armies were screaming over boy with luv but I was obsessed with mikrokosmos. When all the armies where screaming over idol , I was screaming over Dimple.

Been into Kpop for the past 10-11 years. I started with SNSD into the new world and wonder girls, Big Bang, 2ne1 and hyuna. I started stanning BTS at 2014. I found them so underrated. I learnt about each members and their struggles, I read their lyrics and how deep it was. The Kpop industry wasn’t always big, but seeing how big it is now, it’s astonishing. This needs to be said, if you haven’t accepted that BTS clearly has paved the way and has helped the Kpop industry grow tremendously, then your clearly blind.
Discovering Bts and connecting to them is honestly something special, something that you truly cannot explain to someone and the only people that get you are those who listen to them as well. Bts is what makes you feel happy and secure and they help you walk along the self love path. They changed so many lives with their lyrics and their outlook on life. It's beautiful hearing about how people like you got into them and discovered a safe place. We have a lot to thank them for 💜 I'm so happy that you feel this happy with them in your life.
Also I had a similar story to yours because I decided to give them a try after listening to Jungkook's cover of Lost Stars, his voice is truly extraordinary.
I literally got into BTS a month ago and I spent ALL my money in these albums, I am too weak, really, 7 albums that cost about 20 euros each, I am out of control.
I got into bts around a year ago (now I’m a proud multifandom stan who likes 40+ artists/groups) but I only have 4 BTS albums🥺🥺

I think book lovers would really appreciate BTS if they know how many of their music and videos have literary influences. Blood, Sweat and Tears, for instance, was inspired by Herman Hesse’s Demian, Spring Day has references to Ursula K. Le Guin’s short story “The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas”, The Truth Untold and Singularity made references to the Italian story “La Citta di Smeraldo”. These are only a few examples
I really appreciate your openness and courage. A lot of people are embarrassed about liking Kpop in general, I don’t know why. I must admit that Bts is my guilty pleasure. I even like them more than my daughter does, and she’s a huge Kpop fan. I was so happy to hear that Jungkook is your bias. He is also my bias and like you, I am inlove with his beautiful voice! Even though you didn’t get emotional, I could feel your emotions and your sincerity. Music is so much more than a song and you expressed that wonderfully in this video. I think its not surprising to hear that Jungkook is someone's bias because he is the kind of artist who has been in every ARMYs bias list atleast once. He was originally one of the most popular members (when BTs were still rookies). The maknae line ( Jungkook, Taehyung and Jimin ) were more known and more appealing back then. Over the years each member has garnered their share of love but yeah, Jungkook was the OG BTs bias and bias wrecker. He still is.
I've honestly never tried to give someone a full analysis of why they choose their bias but hope this doesn't get lost in the hundreds of comments: So, I think biases in general reflect both the similarities you have to the idol and what you need in your life. I think you might have a connection to Jungkook because he is such a hard worker and always does his best. But at the same time you were seeking two things he had during your hard times. He has a diverse personality and he's physically and emotionally strong to guide you, me, and any other army. He's also very sweet and still a young kid at heart which can help people sort of let go from all their hardships and responsibilities when you see him. I'm not sure if this makes sense but as a subscriber and an army for over a year now, I wanted to give it my best shot. xoxo

I got into Bts/kpop about 5 months ago and it was all because of a journal spread. The spread was for yoongi’s birthday and it really intrigued me. I thought that yoongi was very different form all the idols I had seen before and decided to do some research. I looked him up and saw that he was from Bts. I didn’t think much of it it then. I just new I liked him as a person. Then a few months later one of there interviews showed up in my recommended. I watched it and fell in love. For a while i just watched crack videos and interviews. Then I started listening to their music. I immediately fell in love with it. I just felt a personal connection to it. I listened to all their albums and rap line stood out to me the most. That was probably because before kpop I listened to a lot of rap. I decided to listen to rap lines mixtapes and i was in love. The Last really got me. The first time I listened to it I was shocked. I’m pretty sure I cried during it. Hope World just always makes me happy and Mono. Mono makes me feel things. Like I don’t even know how to explain. I then fell even further down the hole. Taehyung was then the next member who stood out to me. I have always loved deep voices and his voice is just perfect. It’s one of my favorite voices ever. I also love his personality. He is the sweetest thing ever and I just want to hug him. Now I’m here and I listen to kpop literally 24/7.

This. This is why we love BTS. Not because they’re pretty boys who can dance, but because they have legitimately changed our lives for the better. I was in such a dark place when I found Bangtan, and their music has changed the way I think about the world, and the way I think about myself. So you wanted to know why Jungkook being your bias is unsurprising. It really doesn't have anything to do with your personality per say. Jungkook is commonly liked more often because he is very well rounded (meaning that he is pretty much good at everything) and is usually in the center of dances. I'm not saying that you like him just because of that because I can see why you personally like him. He shows a lot of emotion through his voice and lyrics, which I assume is what you like most about him.
Anyway if you do see this, I would recommend listening to suga or rm's songs because they're kind of known for having some of the deepest lyrics in the group. Thx for reading if you read this and welcome our family!
I think it’s not surprising she likes JK because of his voice. It really suits her personality. Just like people aren’t usually surprised that I like Namjoon and Yoongi because my bias is almost ALWAYS a rapper, no matter which group it is. BIGBANG bias is TOP. Blackpink biases are Lisa and Jennie. The list goes on. :)
I really relate to this so much.. there was this person, who was not really my "best friend" I mean we only hung out in middle school because we didn't have any other major friends at the time.. we also got into some misunderstandings because of a third person and just floated apart y'know? And then I started listening to BTS and within a month I was obsessed!
Few weeks from there on I was talking to her and I told her she MUST listen to BTS. She was like yeah cool send the music to me... I still remember, I sent her legit 20 or 25 or so links of compilations and music and crack vids and interviews. She fell in love with them and then another friend of ours got into it and then litrally our whole group of 7 or 8 friends got obsessed.. so anyway, now we are literally the BEST of friends and we've grown the closest

I've made friends too being an army
I was suicidal from about 9-13 years old. Lost myself. Liked life but peers were brutal to me, along with an unstable home life. Than I watched the VHS of Free Willy. At the beginning of that VHS was the Michael Jackson's music video of "Will You Be There". Of course, I knew of Michael Jackson but...I didn't know him. Something clicked, I listened to the lyrics. If you read the lyrics...it makes sense. I rewind that tape multiple times just to watch that video and listen to the lyrics over and over again. I then went out and bought Dangerous album and right after WILL YOU BE THERE is a song KEEP THE FAITH. It was like he was speaking to me. Michael Jackson literally SAVED MY LIFE.
So whether it is Michael Jackson or BTS or the Beatles or Taylor Swift...you should never be shamed for connecting with something or someone that will help you thru life. I will be forever indebted to Michael Jackson. And yes, off and on thru the years-I own Michael Jackson memorabilia. :-)
Idk if you already did or your friend told you to, but give Mono by Namjoon, The Last and So Far Away by Yoongi a try. A lot of people felt so much and also like someone was listening to them, to their suffer with those two that the stories are endless.
I remember watching epiphany when it came out, and reading that first line broke me down. It held so much meaning to a lot of things in my life. It's really beautiful to see how now you can relate to their music and get strength from it.
Hope they can give you a little peace, a place to flee when things get hard and make you feel loved. Make you feel the way the rest of us do when we listen to their songs 💜

I feel like BTS has become a huge part of a lot of people's lives when they've been feeling low. I've been listening to them on and off for a few years, starting with their Boy in Luv dance practice that I watched over and over again because of how amazed I was by their choreo.
But they became so much more to me around Autumn 2017. It was a time I was feeling really low and I felt really alone, but watching their videos helped me in so many different ways. Their songs obviously mean so much to me but them as people really helped me through some difficult times, most days they were the only reason that I would smile or laugh. I'm so thankful to them for being such a bright and positive presence in my life, and I'm glad to see that they have also provided you the same kind of support too!

I watch a lot of youtuber who loves BTS but this video is the only one who made me want to cry. It's so genuine.
I started listening to their music way back 2013, but that's just it. I just listened to a decent amount of their music but didn't even actually know the members' names 😅😂 I wont consider myself an army back then. But right now, I fell hardcore. I fell badly IN LOVE with them. Months ago, I was at the worst moments of my life and their music just helped me BIG TIME. And now I'm crazy obsessed with them 😂💜 I don't have any regrets, even for like 0.00001% because without them, I don't think I'll be able to pass the worst times of my life ☺️

It's true that they come to you right when you need them. I was going through a rough patch early last year and they popped on my twitter feed and ever since I've been so happier. Just watching their vids, listening to music, etc. just therapeutic really. They are truly one of a kind I'm glad I found them!!
Omg. I subscribed to you as a booktuber so imagine my surprise and utter delight to see you’ve become an Army too!! I became Army Oct 2018 so still new. I also feel like BTS found me when I needed them most. And same about falling for the lyrics. As someone who loves reading and who writes, BTS lyrics is what solidified my standing as Army. The lyrics that made me fall hard was Tomorrow.
I relate to your hesitation about sharing these feelings about the boys. It’s hard to explain unless you’ve experienced the music and have seen the boys interact with each other and with Army-there’s a connection that’s magical. Most ppl don’t understand or think it’s a kind of obsession when in fact it’s really a strong connection that encourages positivity.
Another part I relate to so much is how happy they make us. It’s hard to explain too but the music and positivity they convey sincerely helps in so many ways.
I’m really happy to see how happy you are and that you’ve discovered BTS. You don’t have to justify why you like them or why you have their albums. Honestly as a bibliophile, it makes sense. E-books are convenient but we sometimes prefer holding the hard copy for the experience and having the words too. I think it’s the same with BTS albums.
Here are some other Army fandom stuff that you should know in case you haven’t discovered them yet: Vlive app-their shows Run, BV and concerts are there. They also do live streams to talk to ARMYs. You’ll get an alert if they go live but their old ones are there too. WeVerse is an app they just released that they use to also communicate with ARMYs. It’s kind of like a global fan cafe. And BTS Twitter, that’s probably the best way to meet more ARMYs. I was reluctant to join Twitter bc I thought only young ARMYs were there but there’s ARMYs of all ages-a really diverse fandom who welcomed me. I’m so glad I found them.

The thing with jungkook as your bias is that majority of the people, who discovered bts, in the beginning most of the times choose one of the makne line as a bias. Like jimin, tae and jungkook are the most popular members, so they took the attention the most etc. So when armys find out that you are a new army, they understand clearly why your bias is jungkook. I hope that i explained this clearly)

When I became a fan during Prologue/Run era I felt that Namjoon was everyone's bias. He was mine as well because of his flow, deep voice and him rap feeling so familiar, because he speaks English. It's quite interesting to see that it seems to have changed the more their albums came out and their music style changed. Though this could be what I have observed.
I finally found a bias in Bangtan I experienced the same thing during that area 😭 Joon really got my eye when I watched Dope for the first time !

Wow. I’ve been watching you for awhile. And have been a BTS fan since 2013 and it STILL surprises me how much they can affect people’s lives. With each award they win, and each record they break I would be proud, but for some reason anxious too. But then I see someone talk about them with such care and love and it’s like a reassurance that my anxiousness is just temporary. I remember seeing somewhere that you find BTS at a time you need the most, and I relate to your falling in love story so much! When Epiphany dropped, it really solidified my love for them, like I definitely thought “I’m a BTS fan for life huh” and their lyrics truly helped me at the time I was at my worst. When MOTS: Persona dropped I was having the worst week of my life (tl;dr, losing someone important to me) and I can’t tell you how much JOY they brought back to me because of how I can relate to their lyrics + how happy Boy With Luv is. They changed me as a person and I really do feel as if I’m happier now that I’m with them, and seeing you talk about it makes me a little teary because you perfectly explained why BTS are so life changing! I’ve never wanted to share this kind of happiness to other people so much, and seeing you talk about them like falling in love really resonates with me. BTS comes to your life when you need them the most. Like a year ago I didn't know who they were and now they're are one of the things that I loved the most.
I’ve watched like 6 minutes of the video and I’m already sobbing. It takes me back to when I found about them around May 2018, it was a really difficult time in my life and they made it easier to keep going, as you said I think we all found them when we really needed them. They’re such an huge inspiration and they’ll always have a special place in my heart because they got me into kpop and they helped me thru a really difficult time in my life.
