This dude is trying way too hard to get on Naughty dog's good boy list for. And all for what? To get a pat on the head and be told he's "one of the good ones" or just shooting for an early review copy?
This isn't about cynicism as it is about going against people who try to tell you what you should be enjoying or what to think. We can think for ourselves as fully fledged adults and we know what we like. The analogy I would use here is going to a restaurant and ordering a Steak, but receiving a salad instead. The waiter proclaims that the Salad is an excellent salad, made with great care and love and the Chef really wants you to eat it, well that's fine and great, but I ordered a Steak and I want my steak, I'm not in the mood for a salad right now. But the restaurant absolutely refuses to make your steak. Should that trigger you? No of course not, but you should probably leave the restaurant and go to one where they will make you that Steak you're in the mood for.
I do understand your point, but with the amount that has been shown about this game, I think it’s more like going to a buffet, and seeing that there are a couple of items that you would never want to eat, but maybe the rest of the buffet is amazing. That’s my point, the rest of the game could end up being great. But I respect your opinion completely and I do understand the frustration.

Intergalactic only had decent graphics in the trailer. The main character looks like, what you called us: a sexually frustrated... well, thing... As for The Witcher 4... The "loremaster" there wants to punch gamers in the face and last I checked, wanting to punch your customer base usually means bad sales. I do agree we definitely need positivity but you aren't getting that from just tolerating everything.

I just don’t agree the naughty dog and CDproject have made slop. Maybe added some annoying elements, but their games have been solid. Just my opinion. I think the good outweighs the bad with the final product.

A studio should be really picky with their first impressions, if you only give us a trailer (which is fine to do) then you should not put elements in it that are easily recogniseable or mistakeable as "woke". Humans are very good at seeing patterns, thats our forte. The last few years both films and games shown what elements are in the bad ones, what elements are used when they try to talk down to us, spread propaganda of any kind etc. And they should get used to getting negative feedback, even before the game is out to play. Also, what ppl working on a project say is very important and most companies dont hold their employes back so they dont say stupid/racist/anti gamer things. About Intergalactic, the whole story has been leaked and it pretty much fits what naughty dog ppl said so far story wise (i dont like it so far). All in all ppl now have power. Power to destroy what they dont like. This is capitalism, the demand (gamers) will decide who and what the supplier (gaming studios) can sell.

so let me get this straight : its NOT ok for Endy and Vara to say "negative stuff" about a trailer, but its OK for others to say that they LOVE IT and cant wait for it to come out and its the best ever? For me personally, they way Druckmann and Naughty Dog handled Last Of Us 2 really makes me sceptical of this game. I can honestly smell the "all straight makes are bad agenda" from this one.

I do see hints of wokeness, which has been annoying in the past few years in gaming as a whole. But I can get past a couple of annoying elements if they deliver on everything else, and naughty dog does have some talent left in the team. I haven’t lost all hope. That's not really true. That would suggest some sort of traumatic response. Many are simply grabbing the popcorn and letting the industry know WELL in advance they won't support it. It's up to the industry to pivot or keep going as it wishes. It's the pattern that people see. Naughty Dog, do what you will.

I dont hate the game, i just dont care...and that apathy is arguably worse. The whole idea of a reveal trailer for a new IP is to grab you in and get you invested into it and when you put in an unappealing stereotypical 2024 snarky girl boss character, i automatically tune out at that point. Its not even their fault completely, just seen the patterns before wayy too many times at this point. Could end up being a good game, but i wont be playing so in that sense the trailer was a miserable failure
I hear you brother, but consider this. We’ve been beaten over the head with girl boss, woke dei, pronoun bs for the last 8yrs or so. So yeah we’re a little gun shy. I don’t think W4 will be super “woke” and I don’t think Ciri is ugly in the trailer either. But we have every right to be skeptical about intergalactic. When someone shows you who they are believe them.
A shorter point I'll make: I abhor animal cruelty. Don't even really like it in film / tv. Yet I just looked away when bad shit happened to the Starks' wolves. I didn't let it stop me from watching Game of Thrones. Wokeness is a product of our times. Every era has its own weird shit that has been or was going on. Being aware of it is fine. Letting it control your life is silly.

I will say I really dislike where we're at. There are a LOT of normal people out there that are critical of industry practices and the corporate grifting that also do not like the rage grifters. Both are looking for any possible way to be offended to further their grift and people want you to "pick a side." We need to be critical of grifts no matter where they are coming from. I want to get back towards striving for equality, where the only thing that matters is the quality of the characters and the qualifications of the people making them. This truly is a case of "equal but opposite reactions" where both extremes are just the worst.
Simple, when i first saw the trailer aired in game awards, I though music was really good, graphics good and the protagonist barffffff no way i am buying this... That's it i don't like the character design i am not buying. This is not free to try out why should i spent my money on something that i don't like.. ofcourse i stll like the music and graphics as far as they shown but if i have to see that annoying face for some 40-60+ hrs ...nahh there are better options and plenty of choices out there
My only problem with the Intergalatic trailer is so far the game looks so generic. The tone/atmsophere of the entire thing just reminded me of a knock-off GoTG, in fact the protagonist just felt like a female verison of Star Lord. Secondly, while Naughty Dog has a GREAT track record most of their game releases are over a decade old at this point. I mean how many people still work at the studio that helped develop Jak and Daxtar or Crash? A majority of the people developing Intergalactic have probably never worked on a NG game before, or at best have only worked on The Last of Us 2 (which you point out in your video is the only time the studio let you down) and possibly Uncharted 4/Lost Legacy. Now perosnally I have not completely written off the game, as I need to see more on the it before I make that call. However I will say the game has left a bad first impression with me and I am not going to give it the benefit of the doubt because it is coming from a studio that USED to make great games from a long time ago.
Yeah, I’m excited to see what the world looks like, that’s going to be a huge thing for whether the game is just a cookie cutter, generic money grab, or an actual well-thought-out piece of art. My hope is that the veterans of the studio can impart their knowledge on the new people, and not be overshadowed by some agenda
Two things. 1) I know for a fact very few of these content creators actually believe what they are saying, this is rage bait 101, they know how to farm engagement, and it is text book working.. and 2) a lot of the audience buys is hook and sinker, and spend more of their energy actively hating games than enjoying them. At this point, the anti-woke mob is more annoying and far more gulliable than what they once set out to stand against. Ciri looks absolutely badass, Naughty Dogg is cooking with oil, and the next few years of gaming are going to be truly incredible with stacked releases. I genuininy feel bad for anyone who has let hate comsume them to this level. Lastly, the game industry is in a bad state, especially AAA, however devs themselves are being wrongly targeted, when it is studio executives and large holding companies that are to blame for the most of the problems. The way my fellow devs have been treated in recent years turned me against the anti-woke mob mentality more strongly than any other single thing in my life. Keep up the great work my friend, maybe we can just enjoy games again, someday.
Yeah those are good points, clearly it’s the executives who are putting their devs in a bad spot, which is a recipe for disaster. CDPR and naughty Dog are extremely talented, it’s sad to see the rage reach such heights where these teams are treated like garbage. I think this will all settle into a sweet spot soon, I think the average person will soon see that neither extreme is good for gaming, I know I have. I have hope 💪🏼
@@PaulseTV balance is the key. Outrage culture, on all sides, is destroying good things, but yeah corporations need to be held accountable too. As I've been telling people for the past 6+ years, there is a bubble in the AAA industry, and the past few years have proved it is starting to pop. On the bright side, like the film industry bubble of the 70s, there could be a sort of gaming renaissance on the other side, I believe it is already started to turn, especially in the indie and AA spaces.

I mean, that's what gets them views. When they post other stuff they don't get as many views and so after a while that's all they post. I have to admit that, though I don’t agree with the ultra woke people who began all this chaos with their ‘off with the fairy’s’ attitude to entertainment media, I do think there has been an overreaction by myself and others over this. In context I am against breaking the lore of an author to such a degree that it reduces an authors amazing work into mediocre woke trash, and it is still happening. But it was you @paulse that made me think about the Witcher 4 trailer. My profile picture is of me 40 years ago and I am old enough to know better. I have a saying that we can fight a battle using either God or the devil’s weapons. So extreme woke is one extreme and the extreme anti woke is the other. But both are taking up the devil’s weapons. Both extremes stifle creativity in the long run. So over the past few days I have taken a step back. What has been bothering me is the nasty personal comments about women and men’s perception of women coming from the anti woke people. As someone who has read the Witcher books many times, Ciri has suffered more than any other character. The fact she survived at all is down to her personal strengths. The good ending of Witcher 3 shows Geralt handing her a silver sword he commissioned for her and hands it over to his adoptive daughter. Seriously there is no one else who could take Geralt’s place after the Witcher 3 ending. The people in the village of the video were all Polish looking which one would expect being that it is set in medieval Poland and not in today’s western multicultural society. But what truly irked me with these reactions was about Ciri’s looks, being older than Ciri at the end of Witcher 3 and that she doesn’t look like the younger Ciri. She does. She looks like an attractive mature woman to me, but not a hapless ‘anime’ girl. For that I am glad. Cool heads must come together, or we will devolve into being just another faction of cancel culture. If we carry on holding the developer’s feet to the fire we may end up losing the very essence of why CDPR is an outstanding creative studio. The suits have sacrificed enough talented development studios to profit and mediocrity. We don’t need any more. After playing Cyberpunk 2077 recently I realised just how well this studio created a great story that at certain points left me close to tears. So @Paulse, I would work on balancing your channel on the ridge in the middle surrounded on your left by woke extremism and on the right by anti woke extremism. You can make your feelings change things by not battling Vara Dark or Endymion but make persuasive arguments as to why they are ‘out there’.

@ I want us to take stock and fight the right battles. After the ROP debacle I realised how much the media had lost the plot. That show was an insult to the great JRR Tolkien. To combat these corporate bullies people must stand up and not buy any game that sacrifices the author.’s work on the altar of greed. Ubisoft and Bethesda has done this and I just don’t buy their games anymore.

The thing with the grifters is, well, they're grifters. They aren't cynical. They try to find any point they can to hype up like it's a huge deal and their audience preaches it as gospel. Hell, I think Critical Drinker is pretty good because he will say the unpopular thing quite often if he thinks it, but people like Vera Dark are literally just performative click channels recycling the exact same story over and over. There's definitely a problem and rot in the industry, and politics have ruined a lot of things.. nobody's agueing that.. but channels that need the outrage to survive and have no value without it, they are not actually helping anything. I think the easy litmus test for 'is this a grifting channel?' is would they have any value whatsoever without the outrage? If no, they are probably a grifter.
Ok I agreed with you on the witcher ciri stuff. But when I saw the intergalactic trailer.....I was like oh this looks all kinda mid tbh. Felt like I was watching the Concord 2 trailer. For me what put me off was just the character design.....it was kinda boring.

On the one hand, I *do* think Naughty Dog is guilty of most of what it's been accused of in recent years, that TLOU2 was godawful (besides its gameplay), and that Druckmann made his own bed -- but on the other hand, when I see these ragebaiters literally boasting "I'm going to make a lot of money off this new drama" and posting the same ragebait video every 6 hours, I'm just like: I already did this with TLOU2, I'm not doing it again for the next 2 years before Intergalactic even comes out. It's not a life. And I'm not being a party to your content-farming any more. They all whinged about the new Indiana Jones game and dined out on its supposed wokeness for months before release, and then when it came out essentially NONE OF THEM had the moral courage to admit they got it wrong and that it wasn't what they claimed it would be -- which just reveals their bad faith. Indiana Jones should have been cause for their celebration (i.e. an apolitical old-school game; i.e. what they're supposedly clamoring for), but these people only care about sewing discord and cashing in on it -- they don't *love anything* and they contribute nothing.
The reason it works for them is because they can literally complain about every single game, and if it ends up being good, they just stay silent on it and no one cares, but if it’s bad, they can say “I told you so it’s a pattern!“

Content creator's job is to overreact and farm content. Eventually, they all become part of their own echo chamber and end up talking in the same hyperbolic way. But this is youtube. Overreaction and hyporboles gives you the clicks. I've been following Endymion, Smash JT and co. for a while, but I ended up pretty fed up. I cant stand their way of talking anymore.
Yeah, I think often times rage substitutes for creativity and diversity of thought. I think people are getting fed up with echo chambers though, hopefully the future can lean towards independent thinkers instead of grifters
I really do despise companies like SBI and think that DEI is a horribly harmful policy, because it's bad for literally everyone (including the people who think it's helping them) - I will forever defend Equality, not Equity. But a lot of these rage grifters completely ruin the point the people being reasonable are trying to make, with absolutely terrible takes. I'm always trying to defend Remedy and Alan Wake 2, a completely apolitical game, from basically repeated slander - and I've come to learn a lot of people now think anything with a black woman is automatically 'woke' and that is outright sad. I legitimately heard them try to claim Civ 6 allowing you to use different leaders with different empires was 'woke' despite it being a feature since Civ 4.
I think there's just too much negativity out there for the sake of rage bait and views. Both studios have proved that they make stellar games and deserve some trust. Good to hear you aren't falling into the rage bait anymore. Too many people don't form their own opinion anymore and just bandwagon whatever is trending.

I used to follow these Channels too, but how they want to depict a fantastic CDPR cinematic Trailer and a really good looking Ciri convulsively as "woke" and bad and DEI BS is just completely rediculous. Now they preach to us what we should see as "woke" instead of doing better than "the other side". The Witcher 4 Trailer is one of the best cinematic productions I've seen this year including Movies, Games, TV shows etc. I am very looking forward to this game and I am confident that CDPR will deliver an excellent Witcher experience once again. Everything looks awesome in this trailer, every little detail they payed attention to is pure Witcher feeling. Ciri looks like about 10 years older than in Witcher 3 and she seems to have gone through some rough times and I am absolutely excited to experience her journey in the new game. And btw Ciri looks beautiful, couldn't imagine her much different if you see how the younger Ciris in the older games looked like. I really don't get why so many people complain about Ciri, since the Witcher 3 it was more or less crystal clear that she would be the most likely protagonist for the next big Witcher game.
I've come to realize how bad they and their audience have gotten constantly. They are now literally declaring this based on a character's gender or skin color, like that's the problem. I don't like the Forespoken girl because of the character writing. I don't like the Dustborn girl, because of the character writing. I don't dislike them for any other reason - and this stuff has gone so far there's tidal waves of people that, it's becoming apparent, hate them for very different reasons. People are actually turning anti-equality and it is very sad to see. I'm very vocally opposed to enforced Equity and judging people based on their identity, no matter which side is doing it and why - and this puts me at odds with both sides, too.
@@PaulseTV - I have a friend who works in the game industry. For years he's been trying to get into Naughty Dog. According to him and others in the industry, Naughty Dog is like the Google of the gaming world, Everyone wants to work there, but only a few top class talented people get in. I have absolute faith in them that they know what they are doing when it comes to making video games. It's just a matter of whether this game will be very good or very great. Maybe I'm being presumptuous, but given what they have produced in the past decade especially with TLOU, I'm not even going to bother setting the bar any lower than that.
I do think a lot of these rage commenters are sexually frustrated, could even be incels. But to court a woman you need confidence and grace, but more importantly respect for her as a person. Anime girls are not ‘real’ women, but not wanting to play a game if it doesn’t have a macho man or pathetic weak princess trope is ludicrous. Personally CDPR games dig deep into our own motivations being set in a historical or future context. What bores me is that so many games are written from the ‘America is great’ perspective and these characters get old fast. I loved the Witcher because not only being a great game, it was set in medieval Poland and I learned a lot from this.
Honestly, I would love more historical games, games that dive into real culture and history, and represent the actual people that lived there. That would be so dope. It would be like going back in time, maybe throw a little fantasy in there to keep things interesting. But yeah, we don’t need these recycled tired out tropes

I think the real issue is that one side went too far, pushing ridiculous grifting in terms with concepts like enforced Equity over equality, making identity the first and foremost important thing about a person instead of their character or experience, etc. and they are largely the side "in control" of large franchises thanks to grifters pushing this stuff, which basically created counter-grifters. Both sides are more alike than they want to admit, because they BOTH have to constantly twist things out of context and look for any possible reason to be offended to further their grift. Given one side is firmly in control of major franchises, it only fuels this cycle more. People trying to use critical thought outside of that are disliked by both.
I just think people have lost the plot, I also think it’s easy to lose sight of the big picture when you are trying to build a business around a rage filled audience. But I don’t think these influencers realize that they have the power to calm the waters.

I can see your point. It’s unfortunate that “anti-woke” is quickly becoming a position within the gaming community. What was once meant to simply be a response to wokeness has become something of a witch hunt that throws reason to the wayside. In a way, the “anti-woke” crowd are becoming exactly what they are accused of. (Ex: “oh, the main character is a female I don’t have a boner for? We need to boycott this!”) Intergalactic is definitely giving me pause, but at the end of the day, I’ll reserve my judgment for when the game comes out. The same goes for Witcher 4. I think there are VERY legitimate concerns regarding that game, but if the game is fun, I’ll play it.

I am with you on this one, mainly because of their Witcher 4 trailer reaction. I have been watching some of the anti woke youtubers for some time now. Agreed on most of what they said about the Veilguard and some other games. But the way they attacked Witcher 4 because a women is a main character or started talking how ugly CIri is etc. I am pretty sure they have not played the WIld hunt, if they did they would have known what happened at the end when Geralt gave Ciri a witcher sword and invited her to hunt monsters with him. So having her as a protagonist was to be expected. Seems to me these youtubers are jumping to conclusions without evidence in this case because it gives them views. So as soon as i saw Ciri being the Witcher i knew that now all of themm are going to rant how woke the game will be. I felt that for some time but after that WItcher 4 trailer i stopped watching some of them. Could the game be woke in the end, sure it could but at this point the trailer does not make it woke just by having a female protagonist. If they make next Witcher game have those retarded dialogs the Veilguard had or make CIri gay or some nonsese then CDPR should be crucified, just like bioware (rightfully so) was for the new Dragon age game. Until we see some evidence of that they should lower their pitchforks, anyway they lost a viewer in me, i am not a sheep and can see when someone is doing something just for views.

This particular issue woke me up to the reality of how the rage mob isn’t thinking through things, they like the dopamine and/or views that comes from the affirmative echo chamber they live in. Apparently Ciri is Bisexual in the lore, people have been saying, I was unaware of that, so I definitely wouldn’t mind if she has both male and female options for romance, but I definitely don’t want to be preached at from a moral perspective or virtue signaled. Dragon age the veilguard was too preachy and sterilized for me. I like the dark fantasy epics, I’m not into “quirky hip” rpgs very much. I like the fact that the Witcher 3 felt like it was made for adults

The analogy I would use here is going to a restaurant and ordering a Steak, but receiving a salad instead. The waiter proclaims that the Salad is an excellent salad, made with great care and love and the Chef really wants you to eat it, well that's fine and great, but I ordered a Steak and I want my steak, I'm not in the mood for a salad right now. But the restaurant absolutely refuses to make your steak.
Should that trigger you? No of course not, but you should probably leave the restaurant and go to one where they will make you that Steak you're in the mood for.
I do understand your point, but with the amount that has been shown about this game, I think it’s more like going to a buffet, and seeing that there are a couple of items that you would never want to eat, but maybe the rest of the buffet is amazing. That’s my point, the rest of the game could end up being great. But I respect your opinion completely and I do understand the frustration.

A studio should be really picky with their first impressions, if you only give us a trailer (which is fine to do) then you should not put elements in it that are easily recogniseable or mistakeable as "woke". Humans are very good at seeing patterns, thats our forte. The last few years both films and games shown what elements are in the bad ones, what elements are used when they try to talk down to us, spread propaganda of any kind etc. And they should get used to getting negative feedback, even before the game is out to play. Also, what ppl working on a project say is very important and most companies dont hold their employes back so they dont say stupid/racist/anti gamer things. About Intergalactic, the whole story has been leaked and it pretty much fits what naughty dog ppl said so far story wise (i dont like it so far). All in all ppl now have power. Power to destroy what they dont like. This is capitalism, the demand (gamers) will decide who and what the supplier (gaming studios) can sell.

I dont hate the game, i just dont care...and that apathy is arguably worse. The whole idea of a reveal trailer for a new IP is to grab you in and get you invested into it and when you put in an unappealing stereotypical 2024 snarky girl boss character, i automatically tune out at that point. Its not even their fault completely, just seen the patterns before wayy too many times at this point. Could end up being a good game, but i wont be playing so in that sense the trailer was a miserable failure

I will say I really dislike where we're at. There are a LOT of normal people out there that are critical of industry practices and the corporate grifting that also do not like the rage grifters. Both are looking for any possible way to be offended to further their grift and people want you to "pick a side." We need to be critical of grifts no matter where they are coming from. I want to get back towards striving for equality, where the only thing that matters is the quality of the characters and the qualifications of the people making them. This truly is a case of "equal but opposite reactions" where both extremes are just the worst.

Simple, when i first saw the trailer aired in game awards, I though music was really good, graphics good and the protagonist barffffff no way i am buying this... That's it i don't like the character design i am not buying. This is not free to try out why should i spent my money on something that i don't like.. ofcourse i stll like the music and graphics as far as they shown but if i have to see that annoying face for some 40-60+ hrs ...nahh there are better options and plenty of choices out there
My only problem with the Intergalatic trailer is so far the game looks so generic. The tone/atmsophere of the entire thing just reminded me of a knock-off GoTG, in fact the protagonist just felt like a female verison of Star Lord.
Secondly, while Naughty Dog has a GREAT track record most of their game releases are over a decade old at this point. I mean how many people still work at the studio that helped develop Jak and Daxtar or Crash? A majority of the people developing Intergalactic have probably never worked on a NG game before, or at best have only worked on The Last of Us 2 (which you point out in your video is the only time the studio let you down) and possibly Uncharted 4/Lost Legacy.
Now perosnally I have not completely written off the game, as I need to see more on the it before I make that call. However I will say the game has left a bad first impression with me and I am not going to give it the benefit of the doubt because it is coming from a studio that USED to make great games from a long time ago.
Yeah, I’m excited to see what the world looks like, that’s going to be a huge thing for whether the game is just a cookie cutter, generic money grab, or an actual well-thought-out piece of art. My hope is that the veterans of the studio can impart their knowledge on the new people, and not be overshadowed by some agenda
Two things. 1) I know for a fact very few of these content creators actually believe what they are saying, this is rage bait 101, they know how to farm engagement, and it is text book working.. and 2) a lot of the audience buys is hook and sinker, and spend more of their energy actively hating games than enjoying them. At this point, the anti-woke mob is more annoying and far more gulliable than what they once set out to stand against. Ciri looks absolutely badass, Naughty Dogg is cooking with oil, and the next few years of gaming are going to be truly incredible with stacked releases. I genuininy feel bad for anyone who has let hate comsume them to this level. Lastly, the game industry is in a bad state, especially AAA, however devs themselves are being wrongly targeted, when it is studio executives and large holding companies that are to blame for the most of the problems. The way my fellow devs have been treated in recent years turned me against the anti-woke mob mentality more strongly than any other single thing in my life. Keep up the great work my friend, maybe we can just enjoy games again, someday.

CDPR and naughty Dog are extremely talented, it’s sad to see the rage reach such heights where these teams are treated like garbage. As I've been telling people for the past 6+ years, there is a bubble in the AAA industry, and the past few years have proved it is starting to pop. I have to admit that, though I don’t agree with the ultra woke people who began all this chaos with their ‘off with the fairy’s’ attitude to entertainment media, I do think there has been an overreaction by myself and others over this. In context I am against breaking the lore of an author to such a degree that it reduces an authors amazing work into mediocre woke trash, and it is still happening. But it was you @paulse that made me think about the Witcher 4 trailer. My profile picture is of me 40 years ago and I am old enough to know better. I have a saying that we can fight a battle using either God or the devil’s weapons. So extreme woke is one extreme and the extreme anti woke is the other. But both are taking up the devil’s weapons. Both extremes stifle creativity in the long run. So over the past few days I have taken a step back. What has been bothering me is the nasty personal comments about women and men’s perception of women coming from the anti woke people. As someone who has read the Witcher books many times, Ciri has suffered more than any other character. The fact she survived at all is down to her personal strengths. The good ending of Witcher 3 shows Geralt handing her a silver sword he commissioned for her and hands it over to his adoptive daughter. Seriously there is no one else who could take Geralt’s place after the Witcher 3 ending. The people in the village of the video were all Polish looking which one would expect being that it is set in medieval Poland and not in today’s western multicultural society.
But what truly irked me with these reactions was about Ciri’s looks, being older than Ciri at the end of Witcher 3 and that she doesn’t look like the younger Ciri. She does. She looks like an attractive mature woman to me, but not a hapless ‘anime’ girl. For that I am glad. Cool heads must come together, or we will devolve into being just another faction of cancel culture. If we carry on holding the developer’s feet to the fire we may end up losing the very essence of why CDPR is an outstanding creative studio. The suits have sacrificed enough talented development studios to profit and mediocrity. We don’t need any more. After playing Cyberpunk 2077 recently I realised just how well this studio created a great story that at certain points left me close to tears. So @Paulse, I would work on balancing your channel on the ridge in the middle surrounded on your left by woke extremism and on the right by anti woke extremism. You can make your feelings change things by not battling Vara Dark or Endymion but make persuasive arguments as to why they are ‘out there’.

@ I want us to take stock and fight the right battles. After the ROP debacle I realised how much the media had lost the plot. That show was an insult to the great JRR Tolkien. To combat these corporate bullies people must stand up and not buy any game that sacrifices the author.’s work on the altar of greed. On the one hand, I *do* think Naughty Dog is guilty of most of what it's been accused of in recent years, that TLOU2 was godawful (besides its gameplay), and that Druckmann made his own bed -- but on the other hand, when I see these ragebaiters literally boasting "I'm going to make a lot of money off this new drama" and posting the same ragebait video every 6 hours, I'm just like: I already did this with TLOU2, I'm not doing it again for the next 2 years before Intergalactic even comes out. It's not a life. And I'm not being a party to your content-farming any more. They all whinged about the new Indiana Jones game and dined out on its supposed wokeness for months before release, and then when it came out essentially NONE OF THEM had the moral courage to admit they got it wrong and that it wasn't what they claimed it would be -- which just reveals their bad faith. Indiana Jones should have been cause for their celebration (i.e. an apolitical old-school game; i.e. what they're supposedly clamoring for), but these people only care about sewing discord and cashing in on it -- they don't *love anything* and they contribute nothing.
The reason it works for them is because they can literally complain about every single game, and if it ends up being good, they just stay silent on it and no one cares, but if it’s bad, they can say “I told you so it’s a pattern!“

I really do despise companies like SBI and think that DEI is a horribly harmful policy, because it's bad for literally everyone (including the people who think it's helping them) - I will forever defend Equality, not Equity. But a lot of these rage grifters completely ruin the point the people being reasonable are trying to make, with absolutely terrible takes. I'm always trying to defend Remedy and Alan Wake 2, a completely apolitical game, from basically repeated slander - and I've come to learn a lot of people now think anything with a black woman is automatically 'woke' and that is outright sad. I legitimately heard them try to claim Civ 6 allowing you to use different leaders with different empires was 'woke' despite it being a feature since Civ 4.

I used to follow these Channels too, but how they want to depict a fantastic CDPR cinematic Trailer and a really good looking Ciri convulsively as "woke" and bad and DEI BS is just completely rediculous. Now they preach to us what we should see as "woke" instead of doing better than "the other side".
The Witcher 4 Trailer is one of the best cinematic productions I've seen this year including Movies, Games, TV shows etc. I am very looking forward to this game and I am confident that CDPR will deliver an excellent Witcher experience once again. Everything looks awesome in this trailer, every little detail they payed attention to is pure Witcher feeling.
Ciri looks like about 10 years older than in Witcher 3 and she seems to have gone through some rough times and I am absolutely excited to experience her journey in the new game. And btw Ciri looks beautiful, couldn't imagine her much different if you see how the younger Ciris in the older games looked like. I really don't get why so many people complain about Ciri, since the Witcher 3 it was more or less crystal clear that she would be the most likely protagonist for the next big Witcher game.
I've come to realize how bad they and their audience have gotten constantly. They are now literally declaring this based on a character's gender or skin color, like that's the problem. I don't like the Forespoken girl because of the character writing. I don't like the Dustborn girl, because of the character writing. I don't dislike them for any other reason - and this stuff has gone so far there's tidal waves of people that, it's becoming apparent, hate them for very different reasons. People are actually turning anti-equality and it is very sad to see. I'm very vocally opposed to enforced Equity and judging people based on their identity, no matter which side is doing it and why - and this puts me at odds with both sides, too.

@@PaulseTV - I have a friend who works in the game industry. For years he's been trying to get into Naughty Dog. According to him and others in the industry, Naughty Dog is like the Google of the gaming world, Everyone wants to work there, but only a few top class talented people get in.
I have absolute faith in them that they know what they are doing when it comes to making video games. It's just a matter of whether this game will be very good or very great. Maybe I'm being presumptuous, but given what they have produced in the past decade especially with TLOU, I'm not even going to bother setting the bar any lower than that.
I do think a lot of these rage commenters are sexually frustrated, could even be incels. But to court a woman you need confidence and grace, but more importantly respect for her as a person. Anime girls are not ‘real’ women, but not wanting to play a game if it doesn’t have a macho man or pathetic weak princess trope is ludicrous. Personally CDPR games dig deep into our own motivations being set in a historical or future context. What bores me is that so many games are written from the ‘America is great’ perspective and these characters get old fast. I loved the Witcher because not only being a great game, it was set in medieval Poland and I learned a lot from this.
Honestly, I would love more historical games, games that dive into real culture and history, and represent the actual people that lived there. That would be so dope. It would be like going back in time, maybe throw a little fantasy in there to keep things interesting. But yeah, we don’t need these recycled tired out tropes

If she rejects his advances he walks away but with civility and grace. It is sad that men today find this objectionable. To catch a lady you are in love with you might get hurt, but you might not. After all, she has a say in this.

I think the real issue is that one side went too far, pushing ridiculous grifting in terms with concepts like enforced Equity over equality, making identity the first and foremost important thing about a person instead of their character or experience, etc. and they are largely the side "in control" of large franchises thanks to grifters pushing this stuff, which basically created counter-grifters. Both sides are more alike than they want to admit, because they BOTH have to constantly twist things out of context and look for any possible reason to be offended to further their grift. Given one side is firmly in control of major franchises, it only fuels this cycle more. People trying to use critical thought outside of that are disliked by both.

I just think people have lost the plot, I also think it’s easy to lose sight of the big picture when you are trying to build a business around a rage filled audience. But I don’t think these influencers realize that they have the power to calm the waters.
@@PaulseTV Yeah, they have to constantly escalate the rage for audience and there is no way back in terms of content making. There is a guy on TH-cam who talks about Hollywood and Disney fails etc and it's funny how each of his previews is like "FLOP" or "IT'S OVER". Once you represent your content this way the audience won't come for less. The scariest thing is that when you have nothing to rage about you'll have to nitpick or even make things up

I can see your point. It’s unfortunate that “anti-woke” is quickly becoming a position within the gaming community. What was once meant to simply be a response to wokeness has become something of a witch hunt that throws reason to the wayside. In a way, the “anti-woke” crowd are becoming exactly what they are accused of. (Ex: “oh, the main character is a female I don’t have a boner for? We need to boycott this!”)
Intergalactic is definitely giving me pause, but at the end of the day, I’ll reserve my judgment for when the game comes out.
The same goes for Witcher 4. I think there are VERY legitimate concerns regarding that game, but if the game is fun, I’ll play it.

I am with you on this one, mainly because of their Witcher 4 trailer reaction. I have been watching some of the anti woke youtubers for some time now. Agreed on most of what they said about the Veilguard and some other games. But the way they attacked Witcher 4 because a women is a main character or started talking how ugly CIri is etc. I am pretty sure they have not played the WIld hunt, if they did they would have known what happened at the end when Geralt gave Ciri a witcher sword and invited her to hunt monsters with him. So having her as a protagonist was to be expected.
Seems to me these youtubers are jumping to conclusions without evidence in this case because it gives them views. So as soon as i saw Ciri being the Witcher i knew that now all of themm are going to rant how woke the game will be. I felt that for some time but after that WItcher 4 trailer i stopped watching some of them.
Could the game be woke in the end, sure it could but at this point the trailer does not make it woke just by having a female protagonist.
If they make next Witcher game have those retarded dialogs the Veilguard had or make CIri gay or some nonsese then CDPR should be crucified, just like bioware (rightfully so) was for the new Dragon age game. Until we see some evidence of that they should lower their pitchforks, anyway they lost a viewer in me, i am not a sheep and can see when someone is doing something just for views.

Apparently Ciri is Bisexual in the lore, people have been saying, I was unaware of that, so I definitely wouldn’t mind if she has both male and female options for romance, but I definitely don’t want to be preached at from a moral perspective or virtue signaled. Dragon age the veilguard was too preachy and sterilized for me. I like the dark fantasy epics, I’m not into “quirky hip” rpgs very much. I like the fact that the Witcher 3 felt like it was made for adults
