This is unbelievably skillful bro. Just jaw dropping. You've taken this hobby to a genuine sport and in my opinion now to the level of actual artistry. Proud of you. 🎉
Struggling with this game so much as a kid and able to beat it, coming back to watching you do an insane job navigating the levels had me clenching so hard and so often. Fantastic job.
Yes.. funny thing is I really loved the game and for a movie franchise game at the time I still think it’s really good.. just a tad unfair at some points
It still is. All these games we grew up with on the NES were so much harder than games nowadays. Funny to think these are kids games. This game is insane, just look at this!
I can tell this is a Sunsoft game because of a lot of its awesome music was very distinctive for the Nintendo, and a lot of samples are used in Fester's Quest from what I hear.
Wow! I've actually been playing this game off & on lately on an emulator. This game requires extreme preciseness! You definitely put the time & effort into this game. Great job, Mr. Arcus Btw, I'm 35 and I had this game back in the day. I do NOT feel bad for using an emulator since Nintendo decides to limit their IP's/licenses.
Sunsoft sprung the extra cash for special sound chips on their cartridges. It didn't hurt that their composers were top notch. Any Sunsoft game, regardless of quality, always had at least one killer track. Blaster Master, Fester's Quest, Platoon, Gimmick, Batman, Journey to Silius. You name it, great music.
I'm here after Arcus' playthrough of Gremlins 2 on December 24th 2024 on Twitch. This game is definitely the most combination of skill AND luck (not just 1 or the other) than any game i've ever seen or played.
It’s not an arcus run without the “clonk”. Granted I am a recent follower I’ve gone back to take a look at some of your older videos and I absolutely love watching all the cool games that you play. What have come to enjoy about your videos is the “clonk” sound effect. Can’t wait for you to break your next PB record doing the next burrito run.
I remember watching the movie, and eventually getting this game, I spent the whole Christmas and New Year holiday trying to beat it, couldn't get passed the Electricity Gremlin, then when my parents wanted to sell off things we didn't use anymore, I stubbornly put it back on and spent half a summer on beating it. A couple of years later my brother and me would do the same thing with Super Castlevania, but we beat it 1 November 1993 instead of the day before as planned.
YES! Aweosme. I wanted to see him do Gremlins 2. And wow, he made it looks easy, so many parts I thought whoah, that is such good and quick accuracy and timing.
I got this game for Christmas of 1990, and I still play it religiously. Sunsofts' music was of the highest quality, and the detail on the graphics rendered this a "show off" game; look at what the Nintendo was capable of. We had it made then man.
Same thought here. The ouch sound, the jump sound, the bat sprites, the textured, the spikes, the platforming etc etc etc. Definitely some borrowed resources. Never knew about this game until now. Looks super decent.
I remember as a kid my hands would start sweating like crazy playing these games and yet here you are speed running them and you're more calm than a cat on nip.
This game has great music. Stages 1, 3, and 5 are my favorites. I like stage 1 the most of them all, though. I just like how this guy calmly, with a soft-spoken voice, makes all these difficult games his bitch.
@@wellokayyes1266 Naoki Kodaka. He also composed the music for the Genesis Batman game. 3 different Batman games with 3 distinctive scores compose by one man.
I remember beating this under 10 minutes as a wee-lad. They really didnt give a shit about how long game would be at some point. Good music tho, Naoki Kodaka putting everything out there (batman, journey to silius).
@@FaxanaduJohn look at the dates in the description though these are all reposts from 2016-2017 etc. Nothing originally new from 2021 and several weeks
I dont have the time to play the games. But I do enjoy watching this man speed run my childhood.
I’m sorry you played this hahaha
Omg I think I did play this and hated it 😅
I must have played this game a million times trying to beat it before I got a game genie lmao. I can feel every move he's making as I watch this lol.
Gotta love the mass murder at the end of the game lmao.
Wish I had time to play games too. Can't wait until I retire.
This is unbelievably skillful bro. Just jaw dropping. You've taken this hobby to a genuine sport and in my opinion now to the level of actual artistry. Proud of you. 🎉
He’s definitely the master of the NES. No question.
Struggling with this game so much as a kid and able to beat it, coming back to watching you do an insane job navigating the levels had me clenching so hard and so often. Fantastic job.
“I was actually nervous there.” Arcus nervous is still more relaxed than most people on copious amounts of Xanax.
This was one of those games from my childhood that had me on the verge of tears from frustration. Good times.
Yes.. funny thing is I really loved the game and for a movie franchise game at the time I still think it’s really good.. just a tad unfair at some points
The one kid who didn't get a game genie for christmas in the 80s.
Haha, I still have mine, and it still works great.
This game was always incredibly hard back in the day
INCREDIBLY 😃
Yepp! For sure
It still is. All these games we grew up with on the NES were so much harder than games nowadays. Funny to think these are kids games. This game is insane, just look at this!
Soundtrack on this game is a banger. Nice run Arcus!
I remember dumping days and hours into this game and never beating it.
I can tell this is a Sunsoft game because of a lot of its awesome music was very distinctive for the Nintendo, and a lot of samples are used in Fester's Quest from what I hear.
Sunsoft: great tunes, lame-ass games.
The graphics look like SNES. Kind of mind-blowing a gremlins game had this quality art for NES
Just don't get it wet, feed it after midnight, and don't expose it to any sunlight. And clunk.
Severe Blaster Master memories!

Finished this game on emulator with lots of save states. Took me a while. But my dude sowed he can ace trough it like nothing. Hats off.
This soundtrack is fire! Wtf? 🔥
I 2nd that
Level 2 and the ending are my favorites! But the whole soundtrack bumps
Sunsoft games always had great music. Batman, Blaster Master, Journey to Silius... All amazing
Nice gfx too

Arcus, you rock man! So good.
Omg I love this game and movie so much, the OST is fire with this one too! I'm gonna really enjoy watching Arc run this one
I never noticed this, but this game has epic music! :) not only one but multiple great tracks. Also congrats on a great time! :)
This game was badass - I can’t believe it can be beat fast.

Amazing speed run
Great run bro. That look of satisfaction at the end there. Heck of a hard game but man you smashed it 👊
This reminds me alot of Crystalis for the NES, I think the damage pain sound for gizmo is the same as the Crystalis character also?
Same thought here. The ouch sound, the jump sound, the bat sprites, the textured, the spikes, the platforming etc etc etc. Definitely some borrowed resources. Never knew about this game until now. Looks super decent.
Even watching on a newer TV, that dark green floor is so similar in colour to the black! Looks like a tough game
I remember as a kid my hands would start sweating like crazy playing these games and yet here you are speed running them and you're more calm than a cat on nip.
Cat bio makes cats hyper doesn’t it?
Great game great 👍 run Arcus thank you for it
Is that the famous Arcus Sub Sandwich??!! It’s a great sandwich btw! I remember when he made that yummy sub!
This game has great music. Stages 1, 3, and 5 are my favorites. I like stage 1 the most of them all, though.
I just like how this guy calmly, with a soft-spoken voice, makes all these difficult games his bitch.
Arcus yet again showing me games I never new existed.
Great work and great game!
the automatons' passionless goal is to repeat its actions until it ceases to exist
Some class act platforming on level 5 there!
Thanks for bringing me back to memory lane :)
The music is obviously from the same composer as the Batman NES and Game Boy games.
Ha I definitely hear that now
@@wellokayyes1266 Naoki Kodaka. He also composed the music for the Genesis Batman game. 3 different Batman games with 3 distinctive scores compose by one man.
This game looks insanely hard, especially by the time you get to 3-2.
Me: I have played so many weeks to finish this game
Arcus: And clunk ! Mesh mesh mesh....
Thanks for this video, this game is so beautiful.
8:39 Is...that the spider from I wanna be the Boshy??
One of the better NES games based on a movie
Awesome. This game is very fond to me though I played it growing up.
I'm early for an Arcus VOD PogChamp
Very well done soundtrack.
Jump and ouch...jump and ouch - Arcus
Where's Angry Video Game Nerd? He needs to watch this. Arcus is freak of nature.
Master Piece of Game.👍🍻🍺
This one is special I am very impressed
Amazing run!
Nicely done!
Wow I never played this one! It looks ridiculously hard hahaha
That song at 4:10 i feel like i heard that in a Castlevania game
Starfox
This one's a better version than the Atari 2600. Great Speedrun👏👏
What kind of sandwich is that on the screen? Cold Cut Combo?
Great subway endorsement
I briefly remember playing this one.
For some reason I've never played this and missed it altogether. But, it kinda gives me Fester's Quest vibes.
What's your go-to Subway order?
Where’s the clonk? That’s why I came to this video lol love you arcus ur vids are amazing
intro screen sounds like "unheavenly creatures" by co&ca. 💗💗💗💗
I remember beating this under 10 minutes as a wee-lad. They really didnt give a shit about how long game would be at some point. Good music tho, Naoki Kodaka putting everything out there (batman, journey to silius).
How? 2:26
this game has a good graphics for a NES game..
i never beat the second stage (spiders)
This was the 1st Nintendo game I beat... this shit was MAD DIFFICULT
Sounded like mega man in the end
Amazing run 👍
Nice shootin tex!
Best streamer in the world :0
Good work
Good job. Congrats
Jo Jo wants a can of Bubble B TunA. 😹
Didn't even know this was a game...
This game looks like a nightmare
Everything OK with Arcus? I haven't seen any (new) original content on TH-cam in awhile?
He posts every week or so...
@@FaxanaduJohn look at the dates in the description though these are all reposts from 2016-2017 etc. Nothing originally new from 2021 and several weeks
my heart is pounding here arcus you fuck !
nice run, video was a bit dark .. could not see the pits
All these bosses die so easy when you play it
dam dude I could NEVER get past 5 - 1 no matter HOW MANY times I tried. I think I broke a controller over that stage.
This game reminds me of Crystalis.
duder, blew my fx$kin mind
I rented this one.. Drunken good weekend and I did pass it because of Nintendo power maps
This game actually looks decent.
You've lost a lot of weight, man. Hello from Russia.
Hi, Arkus
And....... “Clunk”
Schmooving!
this game was to hard for poor young me but the soundtrack kept me trying !
Amo esse jogo. Gráfico lindo.
I don't like the "clunk" sound effect. I like to hear it from the man himself!
I was wondering if he has stopped saying clunk?
@@ARUCARDFTEPES It would be a dark day for his channel if so... :(
Ok but no Hulkster c'mon man
I'm not that familiar with Gremlins 2 (The game, not the movie. The movie is crazy fun.) It looks super 'Sunsoft' though. I might have to get a copy.
I had this game as a kid. It was nightmarish. Hard, grey and uninspired!
What's up Arcus! I'll have to watch this later. Time for work
Nice
gg arcus not an easy game ^^
GG
Is this his new game he's working on?
