The guy changing his shirt inside a dryer is just the quintessential Stupid Human Trick, and Dave's reaction to the whole thing makes it twice as funny to watch.
perhaps, but the best stupid human "trick" I ever saw on Letterman was the woman who spit a ball of chewing gum out of her mouth, it went out and up, then took the same path back to her mouth? It defies physics, never seen anyone do this?? She still does it today
@@clydepiper4046 yes. I Did ride in the dryer not once it twice but never tried to change a shirt actually I was not wearing a shirt when I was in the dryer lol.
That's really cool. Right before watching this one I watched one from 1987. I was in a class with the guy at SIU. I haven't seen the guy since then but it was cool looking back to that time. I hope all these people are doing well and they've had good lives.
Just wondering how the dryer shirt guy perfected his stupid trick at a late night laundromat bcuz I've never known the laundromat dryers to operate with the doors open🤔
dentist dr fusco almost knocked a couple teeth out... dave wisely decided not to call poor people "animals". a very quick audience knew where he was going with that "joke". good stuff. classic letterman.
Don, In the early minutes of this show, dave mentions "Merril". Do you recall him ever mentioning her in another show? I mean, not as a writer, he mentions her here as someone outside of work.
Renee Taylor guested a few times and kind of forced Dave to talk about Merrill. And there’s a full segment with Dave and Merrill in this collection: th-cam.com/video/J9V3E2eR-XY/w-d-xo.html
I guess they’ve made it so you can’t boo the damn host anymore huh? lol wtf?! And It’s crazy to watch this knowing I wasn’t even born for another 4 years lol just odd cause I feel so old
@@Bob-ml1mv Having never done laundry in my life, I have no idea what the means, lol. Still not impressive, its like watching a video titled man jumps out of moving car, then you watch it and the car's doing like 5 mph!

Holy God I looked this up because it truly is the quintessential Stupid Human Trick, and if you hadn't said it already I was going to.

Dave Stackhouse's dryer shirt change is the Sgt. Pepper's of Stupid Human Tricks.
I worked with Stackhouse in Newton Highlands right after this was shot. He was one of the funniest guys I’ve ever met.
Really. I worked with a few funny people. They were never on letterman tho. Haa

The Boston guy is the very definition of the word "hunk"
Thank you, Don! This is the Stupid Human Tricks installment that I most remember. It is my overall favorite one.
Magical was the nostalgia that defined 1986. Hazy abandon.
Dude hit his chin , good thing he has dental connections.
Thank God Dave is so entertaining lol that kid with the dryer trick had a personality like an empty soup can
Bahaha empty soup can! You sir need to leave more comments.
@@davidblack7625 why thank you.. I try lol
SealTeam Ryx never thought anyone would ride in the dryer but than again most college students have done it.
That's because he's acting all cool and tough
Isa Cece I guess.
2:52 He's gonna have to do some dentistry on himself after that landing on his chin, lol
thanks for the video

We came a long way, from this, to America's got talent
A feel like a clip of the guy in the dryer was used in ads for years.
Dave Stackhouse walking off like a BOSS!

Nice body on the guy in the dryer. I'm glad he left the door open.
Dryer guy, Dave (Beavis) Stackhouse.
How to be the life of the party in the 80'S, was to have skills.
Who at home has a dryer that large? 😂😂😂
Does he bring his own dryer?
The dentist did hit his chin off the floor. Lot of strain on his hands, too (important to have good hands to be a dentist).
Don't try this at home really means don't you eat that Apple.
Still watchin your vids, Don!
