@@mattlawrence8044 I get what you’re saying. There have been other makers, designs, and companies that are SUPER HYPED and I have no interest in them. If you don’t like it, you don’t carry it.
@@mattlawrence8044 AD is like the halfway point to Hinderer, it's super high quality but not quite as expensive in most cases, at least in my experience.
I have exactly the same AD20.5 that you have, textured with the Lynch clip. Sooooo freakin' awesome. My only critique is that it's rough on the pockets. But it's so damn functional that I don't give a crap about my cheapo Walmart trousers being too fragile to contain the power of Andrew Demko's demigod of a knife-baby.
Picked up a steel Pyrite after missing out on the Knifecenters exclusive the first batch. It is a solid knife... but something just didn't vibe for me. When I got the Knifecenter exclusive Pyrite on the second batch it clicked for me. That titanium bolster with the slightly grippy micarta makes it such a classy piece.
I am loving my steel pyrite so much I bought another! Have you checked out the knifecenter exclusive? Titanium “bolsters” and black micarta inlays! Same blade steel but with the extra pocket change in my opinion! PS I am still waiting on my knife wizard Factor, you shouldn’t tease us on round 2 when alot of us still haven’t tried round one LOL! Wish we could get an update on when it will ship! Been waiting since May!!!
Got me a steel Pyrite and mirror polished it. All of it except the Clip. Now it is a magnet for fingerprints, but it looks so awesome. Only thing i would really appreciate to be the ultimate EDC for me: PB washers. If that would be the Case, it would leave my Sunburst-Bugout in the dust. The Value of this little thing is just insane for the price.
You ever do something knowing the outcome is going to be gloriously stupid, and it DOES turn out to be gloriously stupid? The interesting thing about the all steel CJRB Pyrite is that you can polish the entire knife to a mirror finish. I'm currently at 3000 grit with sandpaper and just need to buff out the scratches. This makes it useless as a pocket knife, but it sure is pretty!
Have you tried the SENCUT Watauga? It is very nice, same handle as the Crowley but the blade is inverted. If you like wharncliffe blade shape it is a winner.
I also love the Crowley and think it’s an overlooked knife. The Civivi titanium pocket clip was a nice fix for the stamped pocket clip. Worked just fine even though it’s not in the list of “compatible” knives for that clip.
I got the Pyrite, Crowley, and Racoon all recently. But I keep finding myself carrying the Demko AD20.5 in shark belly. It is just about the perfect EDC knife for me. I work in a warehouse so a lot of opening boxes, breaking stuff down, etc. 3V is fantastic for that. Love it...blade geometry isnt as slicey as the racoon or crowley but everything else is just about perfect. And I should mention it is about the fidgetiest knife ever
adbramsay: I have the Racoon and am on the fence about the Pyrite since it seems almost too similar. Between the two, which do you see as the better user? If you had the Racoon first, would you still get the Pyrite?
@@OldDominionEDC honestly I have a problem, so yes I would still get it, but that is a whole other story. If you are asking me which one I prefer it is the Racoon. It is a fantastic knife. Edge geometry is amazing, the 14c28n is a great blade steel. The micarta handle imo looks nicer than the shadowboxed g10. I will say though that the quality control on the CJRB is superior to the Vosteed knife.
@@adbramsay Thanks! The Pyrite is calling out to me. I may bide my time, however, until I see the new Vosteed Valkyrie Wharnie w/Trek lock, which should come out next month. It may ruin me for other budget knives.
8:10 I got my dad a Pyrite, one of the blue g10 ones, and he loves it to death. Super easy for him to use one handed, and he figured out how to flip it out with the button pretty quickly! I loved handling it too, and I'm going to pick one up soon as well! I got my jade grivory one for 125 here recently, I love it to death. I'm going to try and get titanium scales for it here soon Super excited about the mirage, but I missed the preorder. Hoping to grab one on the next run
I prefer frame lock over a liner lock for the fact that when you are gripping it, it increases the lock up and thus decreases the chances of the lock to fail. The russ looks great but your taking away the benefit of a frame lock. Anyone have them same thoughts?
Where’s that fancy Ti Pyrite? I’d that an EDC for you, too? Love that with the micarta inlay. I saw the black version from another channel’s new TH-cam channel. Looks really cool.
I wish my first experience with a button lock wasn't such a bad one. My micarta kizer cormorant has horrific lock stick . I very rarely carry it these days .

I finally ordered my first Pyrite after fighting the urge for too long (you sold me on the all-steel one) I can easily see that thing becoming Elementum-level popular in the next year or two.
@@alienicecream I mean I think my hands are a similar size to MC (based on the "XL gloves" comparison he always uses), and I generally like this size of knife just fine, so I don't see that being a problem.

Sencut Crowley is nice but I already have Kizer Begleiter XL in 154CM that I like better so I'll skip that one. The first and third look awesome though, I'm gonna have to check them out. CJRB Centros is one of the first in my collection so I'm positively predisposed to them. 😁

If you've been using Grambeau Russ in your left hand how is deployment out of the left pocket?
Na I still carry it in the right pocket. I deploy it with the middle finger on my right hand usually
S35vn and g-10 is coming next on the AD-20.5
Andrew Demko and Warren Osborne (RIP) are probably my two favorite designers. It’s good to see AD still innovating.
I love Osborne designs. The 940 is definitely a edc legend.
I don't understand the hype around AD. Maybe I just need to handle one I guess.
