14C28N would've been an acceptable choice to me. T8 fasteners and, if truly a "hard use" knife for a dirty environment, bronze washers instead of bearings.
@AmbuBadger exactly, bronze washers would have been excellent, but I know some people love themselves a ball bearing pivot. That being said, the stainless bearings had no place on the knife.

Had to take apart to clean. Washers (bronze phosphor) would be much better able to keep debris out of pivot. Omega springs, my first Axis lock has had no problems in the years I've had it. And my other two cross-bar locks have also been reliable. But, a friend bought a nearly identical knife with an Axis lock at the same time I did. He had a spring failure. Sure, the company stood by the product and replaced the spring. No problem. But what if he'd been camping? Fishing? Or on a job? Sorry. "Beef" pocket knife? Looks good.
