Ducati Monster 821 | Air Intake Filter Clean / Replace / Fuel Tank Removal

  • Air intake filter cleaning / replacement procedure for Ducati Monster 821.
    It's best to do this when the tank is empty and this procedure will also explain how to remove the fuel tank.
    There was a part with tank drain hoses that I could not film due to very restricted and cramped space so please review the video instruction carefully and consult below service manual. Both service manual and user manual has everything you need for the replacement. Note that tank drain hoses are for U.S. and Canada models only!

    Hey dude I seriously want to thank you. I was able to put a new led head light, flamesliders and now air filter on my 821 myself because of your videos. Seriously saved me time and money I've would have had to otherwise pay ducati to do for me. Thanks.

    Just would like to chime in that following this tutorial is clutch; I’m the furthest thing from a mechanic (let alone a Ducati mechanic) but I was able to install a MWR Filter myself (also my first somewhat difficult aftermarket install) following this. Would also like to point out to closely pay attention to which drain hose you attach where on the front of the tank. And as for the MWR filter, it made my CR-T exhaust a lot snappier 😈 so I definitely recommend

  • @olddudeonaducati3153
    @olddudeonaducati3153 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    So in the video where you show the illustration of those 2 hard to reach hoses I noticed that 1 of them goes to the evap. Canister..how would you eliminate that hose or plug it ? Any chance you ever doing the removal procedure for the evap canister..?and also maybe a spark plug removal video...I'm a pain in the ass but it's not my fault your so dam good at this and encourage people to do it themselves, your a freaking blessing...I want to change my oil b4 storing the bike and use fogging oil to spray into the cylinders via the spark plug hole to keep it lubed up, just a 3 second spray is all it needs....

    • @HoldFastFilms
      @HoldFastFilms  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can either unplug the vacuum hose from the canister and plug it up with a screw/silicone or when you have the tank off, plug it up there with a rubber cap/clamp.
      I did want to do spark plugs at the same time as this video but I have injured back and pain was stopping me from going further. That's one of the reason why most videos have stopped. But once you lift the tank up, you're already there for the vertical plug. Horizontal one is even easier, just use the service manual in the video description to get you there. Keep in mind that those plugs are in there really tight so it may take some force to pull out.

      It's been a while and I don't remember which one goes where but one hose is for fuel overfill and one is for gasses. See which one leaks fuel and that's your drain hose, other obviously goes to charcoal canister if you have it. Otherwise I don't think it matters but to be sure you can call a dealer and ask.
