What the hell do you mean by “Anbernix’s worst device yet”??? You don’t know what you’re talking about! This thing is amazing!! Haven’t had any issues with it whatsoever!! It’s a true emulation beast! So far at least 95% of the games I’ve tried or downloaded on my system, have all ran beautifully! The gamecube, most ps2, Wii games, ps1 , most N64, you name it!! Yes some tinkering with the settings and adjusting back and forth between emulators to get the best of the system, but it all works out perfectly! Not to mention the speakers on this thing, the perfect size screen. The battery life is insane!!! It lasts forever, I go on playing this thing daily for hours, and I find myself having to charge it every other day. The price is very reasonable. The things you’re focusing on to rate/review this device, are poor and irrelevant. Of course no product is ever gonna be perfect. But considering all the positives about this item. Makes it absolutely worth it! And a quality built device that you can expect to give you the performance it was meant to give you.
It makes me feel good that others are having good experiences with the 505! I wish I could say the same about mine! I was really looking forward to this being my favorite Anbernic device yet
The new GammaOS for the RG505 is a must-have! It totally changes the experience, especially the performance. I prefer it to the retroid. But i agree, out of the box it feels kinda unpolished.

For today I chose RG505 (Oled won). Emulators aside, what console will be better with Game Pass? I also use an Asus Rog Phone 6 smartphone with a bluetooth pad for these purposes. But I want something simpler for emulation, and a 4:3 game pass
I like the Retroid Pocket for GamePass but it definitely works well on the 505. It just was weird to play Xbox games on a display below 720p. But it’s maybe made up by that super vivid OLED panel! The main issue with GamePass on these devices is the lack of analog triggers! That means it’s either a Bluetooth controller, or the Odin might be the best options! Thanks for watching! 🙏🏻
do you still like it? i got a 405 at home that i could return but i just dont know. i dont like the display of the 405 because of the weak contrast and bad color saturation. just doesnt look good. the 505 would be cool because of the oled screen but i dont know about the in line shoulder buttons on a device thats so large.
this would be amazing. actually 3:2 like on the ktr1 would be great. it's a nice compromise for both 16:9 and 4:3 systems with minimal black bars. i got the 405m but i will return it cause the screen is just so bad. would like to get the 505 but the ergonomics probably suck

I've been deciding on getting either the RG505 or the RP3+ for a few days now. So it runs N64 pretty well which is nice to hear, do you think it can handle Mario 64/Ocarina of Time Rom Hacks? How well does it run the vanilla versions of those games?
Both the RP3 and RG505 definitely run SM64 and OOT well. Can’t speak to the ROM hacks but I’d guess it’ll run most well too. For me 505 is a hard pass because of the hardware issues though

Utter nonsense. The rg505 is a great device. I love Android retro games machines. Yes it has less of a console feel about it than Linux devices but I have plenty of them. GameCube and PS2 at this price point is great. Not every title plays but come on be real
So in the end, I'm glad I got a RP3+ myself. The Anbernic 505 seemed interesting at first with that hall sensor sticks and the OLED screen, but it seems it can't hold up.

Hi, Too bad your Rg505 has such problems. Luckily mine works as it should 😀 But I use it from PS1 because underneath it like Super Nintendo or Gameboy it always seems to lag I don't know why, but I have my Retroid Pocket 3 without plus or my Rg552 what a dream for these systems is without lag and soft as butter. But I also had to repair new Anbernic devices to make them work.

I have like 30 systems or more from the GPH wiz to Vita SwitchCFW almost all Anbernics GPIcm4 AYANEO Air Pro AnaloguePocket and and and and i never ever ssaw such a crap. It stutters on all low end systems even on PS1 when u should get a smooth 60fps horizontal scrolling, which means the screen is 50 hz or maybe more than 60 but not 60. I programmed my first retropie setups myself. On TVs one can set the display modes to 50 (C64 Amiga) or 60 hz (rest of almost everything). It seems the 505 outputs 50. This makes 60 Hz games stutter. Not that recognizable on 3d games but awful at sidescrollers. Unless there is no image that sets the android refresh rate to 60 this is uncorrectable and makes the device unusable crap.
I have the 505 and I like it but the thing doesn't charge right and half charges and it doesn't show when it's charging..it's a damn mess.a shame because it's not a cheap device.
Same issue as me! Hope there’ll be another firmware upgrade soon. If you’re feeling like you want to take a risk - I’ve heard of you re-seed the battery connection that could help reset the battery meter to detect the readings right. I haven’t tried it myself though.

On the device that everybody is going to put hundreds of pirated games on, and often these devices come preloaded with thousands of pirated games. But yeah, the theft of the thing that is enabling the crime is what we should focus on.
To summarize for those wishing to buy a handheld emulating device for the first time: In a side by side comparison, the Retroid 3/3+ exceeds expectations in all respects, compared to the RG 505. Even with lower spatial and ram specs in the pocket 3, the processors do a darned good job of emulating flawlessly up to PS and SDC, and passable emulation with AetherSX2 for many PS2 titles. The RP3 is essentially an RP2+ with a wider screen and sleeker body, whereas an RP3+ is even miles ahead of the 3. The touch screen with Android 11 and the wifi / BT chip just makes it seem so intuitive for loading ROMs wirelessly or wirelessly streaming from streaming services. It also has much better handling/ergonomics for protracted sessions. RG 505 swings hard and misses on almost all fronts. Why anyone would or should pay more to buy an Anbernic, when you could buy a much better device (RP3/RP3+, or heck even a RP2+) for lesser, is beyond my comprehension. The poor design, constant battery problems, the flawed construction, the underwhelming performance in spite if higher specs.... It's all a shame considering the 505 would be a splendid device on its own.

Indeed. A review is inherently personal on my channel given I can only speak to my experience with each device. My personal experience should hopefully help inform your decision. Your situation of how when and why you use a device will probably differ from mine but I’m sure there’s enough overlap for you to decide if my likes or dislikes of a device are something you care about or not. Definately spent his honest unbiased review doing a great imitation of a RP3+ fanboy who criticized the product and made constant comparisons between two systems that in every other comparison video have performed darn near exactly the same every time. I own neither but from reviews I'm pretty sure I'm still getting the RG505. I havnt owned a handheld since my PSP so have no console loyalties yet lmao

I love the console, its actually on of the best just because of the OLED screen. I hope to see a 4:3 oled screen in future but I doubt it.

Interesting the lower end systems lag for you. Maybe your screen refresh rate and retroarch need to be synced?

Unplug the battery and plug it back in. That fixed my battery issue.
