My whole family and I love Toytoa's but when I bought my daughters both Subaru Foresters and researched the 4x4 it was not even a hard choice at all. I wanted to give my daughters safety in all conditions.
Summary of video is, "their both great cars so you need to test both of them". Waste of time on this video. The 74 horsepower with just a tad better fuel economy, ill take the Subi. Where this would have gotten really interesting is in the AWD comparison.
Most reviews don't have an end result where they determine which car is better than the other. It all depends what you want. This video does a good job of highlighting some of the differences.
Ha Ha I tested a Rav 4. Didn't want leather due to humidity. Found out it's NOT leather. "Leatherette". A point in favor, but I bought an Outback for safety and visibility.
I watched your video comparing the Forester with the Ford Escape, then saw this one. In both it seems like you are very eager to point out features the other car has, or to somehow belittle the Forester for not having them. I have a '14 Forester Touring and LOVE it. Recently I saw an online article where the Forester came in at #1 with older drivers who needed a comfortable, safe, car with easy to use, basic controls - all for a reasonable price. Sure the Escape and Rav4 may offer certain other features not yet found on the Forester, but the Forester offers a nice package too - at considerably less cost.
Hey Steve, thank you for watching both of our videos. That was in no way my intention. I personally love the Forester. My girlfriend has one as does my aunt. The purpose of this video was to compare the two and point out some strengths and weaknesses in both. For example I think the Forester is better in the snow and offers a little more sporty drive. If someone if looking to tow, however, I think the escape is a better option given the numbers.
Steve Ziminsky not just having a comfortable hip height to get in and out of the Forester, not just the top safety feature between all vehicles like the steel bars on the doors, not just the economy for a all time all wheel drive compared to the part time awesome from others, and most importantly the residual value for these vehicles example the Crosstrek will save you 3500 dollars compared to the next cheapest competitors from five years of owner ship. the Forester is the smartest buy financially and best choice for a car owner.
I'll start by saying that my opinion is just that, mine and doesn't hold much weighting :-) The review minus the final minute result 8-9/10. The result 3-4/10. Overall, time well spent because there were great honest comparisons and discussions about the strengths of each vehicle.
But I have paddle shifters with my non turbo 2017 2.5i Limited with Tech package (canada). Glad I opted for the brown leather too. Just loving the contrast
Subaru, don't bother with the foot release with the lift gate. I had one in my BMW 535 ix drive. I looked silly swiping and swiping and if dirty or snowy it didn't work. I also slipped trying to use it. Useless. It also did not close from the key fob or inside, only way to close the trunk was by pushing the button on the back of the car.
It is official. I’m taking a loss on my 2018 Forester to get a 2017 Rav4 with more miles because the Forester seats are a miserable experience for any driving over 15 minutes.
this is kind of an odd concept for a video from subaru lol.....however, i have a crosstrek 2016 but long for the forester turbo with that huge sunroof!!
I have the forester with the sunroof, but it is odd for me. I am 5'5" and have the seat back as far as I can to give some clearance with my right knee to the dashboard. I am way too close for my comfort even extended back and with my toes barely touching the gas/brake. Consequently the sunroof is still behind my head. My head sits under the roof and I have to look back to see the sunroof. Never does light shine on my body, my light up my face, or light up the front of the car. Just not what I like.
Just take a look at towns that get a lot of snow and you will see Subarus everywhere. Or take a look at the other comparisons in off road conditions - Subaru beats RAV4 all the time. If you want a Toyota to go anywhere, get a Prado.
I gotta tell you - Subaru seats are the worst. Toyota may be the BEST. I love my new to me Forester but I am seriously considering trading it in for a RAV4 because of the seats.
Only motor I would purchase for Subaru 2.0L because they last the longest than 2.5L that always have head gasket(recall). I hope Subaru get rid off that piece of junk 2.5L motor and bring 2.0L. The best quality and reliablity is Toyota. I will stick with Toyota and only car I would purchase for Subaru is new Crosstek, Impreza and WRX only. Toyota and Subaru are the best Japanese automaker out there than Honda and Nissan.
The RAV4 is not a true AWD, I just bought one and found out the hard way. Lift the vehicle and turn the tires as they rotate opposite of each other and that shows it is an open differential! Do your own research before you buy! REPLY
Wolf of Crypto because its not "ALL TIME" awd baby. awd kicks in when cornering slipping and abrupt accelerating.go for venza or sienna if you want ALL TIME awd

Why is the camera so far away from the cars??? This video was nearly pointless in visual review/understanding of the vehicles.
Drag race! Drag race! 🤞🏼

Toyota is always the best...please check ur local trafic jam to see if people love subaru or toyota...TOYOTA UP
John Kupa Maybe. But Rav 4 has 16 cm clirense vs 22 cm Forester.

Toyota's have better built transmissions
Definitely, I go with Subaru. A lot of snow and mud in my area.
