It is not likely to cause graying in just 4 days. Yes hair can get rough due to the alcoholic content. Stopping it for some time will make them return to the original shape unless this is due to shedding.

The scalp needs to be clean before Minoxidil is applied so it can penetrate the skin. Oil can be applied in the morning and minoxidil at night if you must apply oil. Nowhere else is oil applied to the scalp other than in South and South East Asia!

Thanks for the message and query. What age are you? Have you had hormonal testing done to ascertain the cause of hair loss? In women hair loss is more hormonal than genetic and hence treatable without a hair transplant in significant number of patient.

And no, I haven't checked my hormone levels. My mother, aunts and grandmother take levotiroxin to easy their hypothyroidism; I suspect that I may have problems as well since my feet are unbearably cold at night. Since apparently I don't have a hair loss problem per se, I wonder if by taking minoxidil I would be able to grow more hairs per follicle not just one hair but multiple and more follicles available to grow more hair). First thing if it is working, you will have intense shedding. After 3-4 months unless you have rapid progression of baldness, you will see your hair thicken. Minoxidil is not a DHT blocker so do not expect it to stop baldness.

During the 1st operation, 2,000 hairs were taken from my hair crown and implanted. With the 2nd surgery, I would like to further fill in the middle and back of my head and thicken the entire area with the beard hairs. Currently I am using the Foligain shampoo and conditioner, as well as finasteride 1mg daily and saw palmetto extract. All products have DHT blocking ingredients. Now for my question and that is; are there any risks of the transplanted beard hairs falling out and not growing back if I use the above products because the beard hairs are no longer "fed" with natural DHT? Thank you for the comment. The effect of Finastreide on beard hair is mostly inhibition of liner growth. They will definitely not fall out. At most they will look like scalp hair.

It will lose efficacy. Get it exchanged or if you are a lady, can give to a colleague or friend. Most people need 5% minoxidil.

Finasteride and Dutasteride presently only act by going systemic. Also Dutasteride is not advisable since it is much to stronger as a DHT blocker.

The Finasteride content in the topical formulation you are using is of no use. Best to use Minoxidil alone since you are already on Oral Finasteride.
