The dreamcast will always be my favourite console of all times, not only because it introduced me to online gaming but also for personal reasons. I met my wife on Dreamcast PSO Ver2 lol
+Ragg muff Nope. I Had hopes of doing so, but until SEGA finally make an effort to port it to Western markets I won't touch it with a barge pole. And keeping track of the PSO2 forum discussion about Western release, it appears SEGA is quite content to just sit there and continue to dangle an imaginary carrot in front of us, hoping we'll just say %$^& it and just jump on Japanese servers. The official link to the PSO2 site is about 3 years old now and never been looked at, let alone updated. Once again another flip the bird from a company who just seem to refuse to give a shit about any player who lives outside of a certain provider's range. But hey.. Why worry when I can look forward to the 20 billionth port of Sonic the Hedgehog...
+Sou1defiler Man, there are detailed instructions to get on, plus the english patch provided be 3rd Party, its basically an english port. check PSO tweaker and Bumped. org for instructions.

Jofel Nascimento I own a: PS4, Xbox One, and Wii U and I like the Wii U the best simply because it has the best games, nothing can compare to Smash Bros. Next year looks bright for Wii U as well lots of bright colorful fun games.
Ah the dreamcast, a console that was bursting with creativity. On paper it did everything right (except for appeasing EA) but it was also burdened by the cost of Sega's previous hardware mistakes and then harmed by the hype of the PS2. Personally I'd have had the dreamcast over the Xbox any day. That's just my humble opinion so don't you MS fanboys be takin' that personally, OK?
I agree. While I'm sure Marvel vs Capcom is a great game even though its not in my library, you kinda need to be a fighting game fanatic to choose it as #1. Especially when you have games like Crazy Taxi, PSO and as you mentioned Shenmue.

I wish sega would still make hardware, I mean, besides Nintendo, most other games don't feel like games, we got an over-abundance of sports games and FPS's I feel like it's because other companies are afraid to experiment, they think that if it's not sports, a first person shooter, or a generic adventure game it won't be well-recieved. Sega still makes some good games, but they are either sonic games, or a sequel to a game they made for the dreamcast like Shenmue II on Xbox (I know the DC version was released only in Japan) or JetSetRadioFuture also on Xbox.Nintendo feels like the only one trying anything new since 2001, take mario, they didn't keep making the same game with diffrent levels (except for the new SMB series) , the games have something to them , sunshine has that spray thingy wich really adds to the game, galaxy 1&2 are like no other 3D platformer i've seen, and 3Dworld and 3D land have the design of a 2D game put in 3D, LoZ has Windwaker, wich feels really unique with the ocean exploration and the cartoony art style, pokemon games are pretty much the same, but at least they add new mechanics. The Metroid Prime Triology added the first person perspective, but the MP games are no half-assed FPS like Boringfield or Call of money recycled warfare.Even Starfox adventures wich was MEHHHHHH at least TRIED to bring something new to the table. ACACE10 Okay I must admit I rarely click on mention replies but I actually agreed with heroes being okay. You lost me with Sonic06 though. That game was a fucking piece of dogshit
Lightningdude yes it's bad but it could of had potential, i don't know why but i haven't had as much glitchy problems as ive seen on TH-cam, sometimes i got stuck with rouge and knuckles but that's really it in terms of glitches, maybe i was just lucky
Still play Soul Calibur, Sword of the Berserk, MK GOLD, DOA 2, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Marvel vs Capcom 2, Capcom vs Snk 2 N more to this very day n won't stop... I love the Sega Dreamcast
I remember playing Shenmue. It was an interesting game because you actually had to work to get money as well as pay things at the local pawn shop. It felt like living a regular life with the added action of chases, street brawls, and a protagonist who did good for the sake of good. A very cool game.
I remember being in grade school, and everyone was going crazy for Crazy Taxi what an amazing title this was. I played alot of Shadowman on dreamcast compared to ps2 I always liked it better on dreamcast.
skies of arcadia, powerstone, shenmue, all tied for first place. They are the best games i have ever played, maybe its nostalgia but hey i would rly love to see sequels of these 3 for sure
I'm genuinely sad they have never made a remake or sequel to Skies of Arcadia. The ship combat in particular was just so damn fun. I've played both Shenmue 1 and 2 and they are both great. SEGA should do a HD remake of those and release them multi-plat. If that did well, they could finally make Shenmue 3.
To save you time: 10. Skies of Arcadia 9. Power Stone 2 8. Jet Set Radio 7. Crazy Taxi 6. Resident Evil: Code Veronica 5. Soul Caliber 4. Sonic Adventure 2 3. Phantasy Star Online 2. Shenmue 1. Marvel vs Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes HM: Samba de Amigo, Typing of the Dead, Rez, Sega GT, Space Channel 5, Other Games Shown: Stir Wind You’re Welcome
Yeah, SEGA needs to stop focusing on Genesis compilations and start releasing some Dreamcast games. They need to work with Yu Suzuki again and remaster the first 2 Shenmue games.
I'm not a big fan of sports games, but I have a SEGA Sports Edition Dreamcast. I heard it's a coveted edition. To see at least one Sonic game on this list delights me. I have that game, I have Sonic Adventure 1, and I have the ill-fated Sonic Shuffle for it too. Shuffle was the reason why I wanted a Dreamcast, although it's not an easy game to beat. BTW, comment number 3500!
How is NFL 2K not on the list?? The first and only real challenge to Madden Football. The 2K series, either NFL or NBA were some of the greatest game in Dreamcast history.
1. Shenmue 2. Phantasy Star Online 3. Sonic Adventure 2 4. Soul Calibur 5. Marvel VS Capcom 2 6. Resident Evil: Code Veronica 7. Crazy Taxi 8. Power Stone 2 9. Skies of Arcadia 10. Street Fighter 3: Third Strike
DemonDeric Not all the footage they use is in 720p, or 1080p so rendering a countdown in those is a stupid idea because they'll look like crap even more so then usual.
I love the Dreamcast so much! Jet Set Radio, Chu Chu Rocket, Shenmue, Sonic Adventure, Skies of Arcadia, Crazy Taxi, Power Stone, Phantasy Star Online, SoulCalibur, Space Channel 5, Resident Evil Code: Veronica... So many great games!
Out of all the consoles I had the Dreamcast was the most fun and entertaining! The games were amazing :) Few games I personally enjoyed 1.) Sonic Adventures 1 2.) Fur Fighters 3.) Power Stone 1 4.) MDK 2 5.) Tony Hawks Pro Skater 1
me as a kid: me: dad can i hook my sega dreamcast up to the internet dad: hook your what where? me: my sega dreamcast i can get on the internet and play against other people. It says i can on the box. dad: does it cost money? me: idk dad: no and that was the end of that.
You seriusly put MvC2 first place? While Soul Calibur is argued to be the greatest fighting game OF ALL TIME winning best console game in 2000 E3, and having a perfect score in japanese magazine famitsu and being a revolutionary 3D, eight-way moving fighting game. I would've understood if Shenmue topped it but seriously? Below MvC2? I trusted you WatchMojo, I trusted you.
Your comment is 100% on the mark. MvC2 cannot hold a candle to the mastery that is Soul Calibur. Top game should have either been Soul Calibur, Shenmue, or Skies of Arcadia.
3nderoX The game introduced 8-way moving for 3D fighting games, it had a great flow and it's the best weapon-combat fighting game franchise there is. It's constantly argued to be the best game for Dreamcast by many critics and it's definitely the best arcade-to-console game for dreamcast. That game was that good.
Soul Caliber was excellent, but 2D fighters will always top 3D fighters. The first game in that series, Soul Edge, was a great game, and its Dreamcast sequel upped the ante for sure. But with game changers like MvC2, SF3: Third Strike and King of Fighters 2000 onward, even the likes of Virtua Fighter 3tb and Soul Caliber have to take a step back :)
justin williams Calibur* And in this discussion we are talking about the Dreamcast version of the game, wich was better than MvC2 not only stated by us fans but also by gaming magazines and critics.
This is the first time I've seen this list and the whole time I was watching I was thinking hmmm I wonder if they put Marvel vs Capcom 2 on this list. It's at #1! That is hands down the greatest video game I've ever played in my life. It was so ahead of its time. Great graphics, amazing music, and 3 on 3 battles!! I have so many childhood memories from playing that amazing game.
That feeling, when you said farewell to Nozomi, worked hard in the harbour on a forklift, kicked asses to all of Mad Angels and eventually sailed away to Hong Kong. Thank you, Sega. Thank you Overwork Team. I'll always treasure it.
Shenmue 1 and 2 were great. I would love for a developer to come along and take them with the unfinished/unmade 3 and turn them into 1 huge game for PS4.
that would be the shit I already consider Shenmue and Shenmue 2 as one game, since they're pretty much identical in teamrs of graphics, gameplay and control
TheMole2005 how would that be shit? Complete remakes. They couldn't just throw out the final because younger gamers wouldn't know what was going on. The games were made like Harry Potter movies, one straight after the other so of course they would look similar. The games would be completely redone, new graphics and control systems with new music, and maybe even push it out of its time-warp into the modern world, making it faster paced. Either use a 3rd person shooter kind of system when actually fighting, or fighter. It would be epic. It was one of the first games of its type, and for a mystery likely the best.
I actually started recently collecting some games for the Dreamcast but so far the most expensive Dreamcast game I have is Power Stone 2, It's pretty expensive now honestly it's a good game but if people are thinking about getting it, I wish you luck if you don't have to pay about $90-$120 complete that's just from what the last time I seen though. But just thought I would tell you guys that want it just be prepared to pay a decent amount of money for it. But Sonic Adventure 1 was better then 2 in my opinion. I actually got lucky and got Crazy Taxi and Sonic Adventure together for the dreamcast I bought.
The dreamcast will always be my favourite console of all times, not only because it introduced me to online gaming but also for personal reasons. I met my wife on Dreamcast PSO Ver2 lol

Blue Joystick Without a doubt. I was actually going to say that, but I forgot. They improved it a ton in the second game.
"House of the Dead 2" and "Dynamite Cop" on the Sega DreamCast were also very fun titles to play!
Dreamcast had that arcade feel. What an amazing console it was
Cause the sega Naomi was based on the Dreamcast hardware
I never owned it and I believe I never played any game. I will start to get some ISOs and try emulation :D

Sonic Boom.......................just gonna ask why
ACACE10
Okay I must admit I rarely click on mention replies but I actually agreed with heroes being okay.
I'd always thought how great it would be if Capcom made a console .I thought of this when I was really into street fighter and knew about megaman.
Still play Soul Calibur, Sword of the Berserk, MK GOLD, DOA 2, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Marvel vs Capcom 2, Capcom vs Snk 2 N more to this very day n won't stop... I love the Sega Dreamcast
I remember being obsessed with Sonic Adventure 2 as a child, primarily because of my love of playing as Shadow the Hedgehog
the most underated video game console ever.
Proud to say I owned a sega Dreamcast almost 20years ago
I am sooo happy Crazy Taxi made it! I freaking love that game!
These were all awesome games! I miss my Dreamcast
When a remake HD of Skies of Arcadia? :)
I remember playing Shenmue. It was an interesting game because you actually had to work to get money as well as pay things at the local pawn shop. It felt like living a regular life with the added action of chases, street brawls, and a protagonist who did good for the sake of good. A very cool game.
MDK 2
Who else loved this game?
+sulacomarine love that one!! that should be the first one...
+sulacomarine
MDK was amazing
mdk was awesome fun
sulacomarine I did but damn sometimes hard to play lol I installed it with romstation on pc
sulacomarine facts!! Didn't think anyone would remember this gem
Dreamcast brought the arcade to home. A dream every kid dreamed of the 90's
Absolutely.
I totally forgot about Shenmue. I used to play that game all the time. It should be number 1
I loved my Dreamcast way back in the day. AH, memories.
They are the best games i have ever played, maybe its nostalgia but hey i would rly love to see sequels of these 3 for sure
oh yeh and by sequels i mean continuing the series for this gen
I'm genuinely sad they have never made a remake or sequel to Skies of Arcadia. The ship combat in particular was just so damn fun.
I've played both Shenmue 1 and 2 and they are both great. SEGA should do a HD remake of those and release them multi-plat. If that did well, they could finally make Shenmue 3.
i agree but we will prob never see a remake or a continuation of any of these series
Marvel vs Capcom 2, Soulcalibur, Mortal Kombat Gold... oh and yeah, the Sonic Adventure games.
Those were the days.

This makes me regret not owning a Dreamcast. I wish I had one.
eBay has them.
Nathan Evans and mega media xchange
This console was ahead of its time. One of the best consoles ever.
Shenmue is not only the best game on dreamcast its the best game ever in my books.
Smegul14 that's SO true bro!
I would love to see Sega do a Dreamcast collection for at least 20 games bc most only have like 5 games included
The 2K series, either NFL or NBA were some of the greatest game in Dreamcast history.
coz Japanese doenst play NFL :D even the european gamer!! :P
SA2>Everything
SA1>SA2>everything

so many memories loved my dreamcast
when 1080 or 720p
dude it makes no difference the games arent even viewable in 720p+ because its on old dreamcast..
Jordan Norton He means when will any WatchMojo videos be in 1080 or 720p because none are and they look a bit shit.
DemonDeric Not all the footage they use is in 720p, or 1080p so rendering a countdown in those is a stupid idea because they'll look like crap even more so then usual.
Not every clip has to be HD but when like at least 5/10 entries could be in that, I can see no reason not to have it.
lyylski Because they will look like crap. Beside since when was HD needed aside from keeping people from bitching about it?
JGR at 8? WTF?
But Soulcalibur was quite obvious.
+Ross Pitcairn Imagine if the console had lasted longer than 2 years...
andyukmonkey If only... Still, it's amazing the quality of the games released for it in such a short space of time.
Skies of Arcadia only at no 10? GET THE TORCHES AND PITCHFORKS!!!
FACTS!!!!
Power Stone, Resident Evil Code Veronica, Marvel vs Capcom 2 and Crazy Taxi ahh the memories
TF? Power Stone wasnt even an honorable mention?
I was just happy to see Resident Evil Code Veronica make the list.
JET GRIIINNNDDD RRRAAADDDIIIIOOOOOO
Soul Calibur still looks great even 21 years later in 2020
Awesome list! We had many of the same games on our top 10 list as well! Good stuff and game on
Out of all the consoles I had the Dreamcast was the most fun and entertaining! The games were amazing :)
Few games I personally enjoyed
1.) Sonic Adventures 1
2.) Fur Fighters
3.) Power Stone 1
4.) MDK 2
5.) Tony Hawks Pro Skater 1
One verry nice RPG on Dreamcast its Ecco The Dolphin: Defender of The Future
Here are my favorite SEGA Dreamcast Games:
1. Space Channel 5 Part 2
2. Sonic Adventure
3. Jet Set Radio
4. Crazy Taxi
Soulcalibur should’ve been number 1 !🔥
me as a kid:
me: dad can i hook my sega dreamcast up to the internet
dad: hook your what where?
me: my sega dreamcast i can get on the internet and play against other people. It says i can on the box.
dad: does it cost money?
me: idk
dad: no
and that was the end of that.
Tony Hawk pro skater 2 hands down kept me busy for hours!
Shenmue is by far my #1
You seriusly put MvC2 first place? While Soul Calibur is argued to be the greatest fighting game OF ALL TIME winning best console game in 2000 E3, and having a perfect score in japanese magazine famitsu and being a revolutionary 3D, eight-way moving fighting game. I would've understood if Shenmue topped it but seriously? Below MvC2? I trusted you WatchMojo, I trusted you.
Your comment is 100% on the mark. MvC2 cannot hold a candle to the mastery that is Soul Calibur. Top game should have either been Soul Calibur, Shenmue, or Skies of Arcadia.
abdrone Wtf is with Soul Calibur wanking that game was not that good...
3nderoX
The game introduced 8-way moving for 3D fighting games, it had a great flow and it's the best weapon-combat fighting game franchise there is.
Nobody played Ready 2 Rumble??????
I forgot about that game.
Gtfoh! R2R and R2R II need to be recognized on this list along with NBA 2k2
What about Chu Chu Rocket, and that sniper game?
That feeling, when you said farewell to Nozomi, worked hard in the harbour on a forklift, kicked asses to all of Mad Angels and eventually sailed away to Hong Kong. Thank you, Sega. Thank you Overwork Team. I'll always treasure it.
Never had the dream cast it looks a very good console, with some good games, l had the GameCube and the Nintendo 64
Sonic adventure should have been No.1,its the only reason people bought the dreamcast
lol...Yea I agree, 1st game I had on it.
I bought it for power stone and power stone 2
(I know this comment chain is old, but) That's the ONLY game I have for it.
Jet Grind Radio, Power Stone 2, Shenmue, Soul Calibur, omg that system had so many great games
This system had everything.
My top 5
5. Sonic adventure
4. Sonic adventure 2
3. Crazy taxi
2. Shenmue
1. Jet set radio!!!
2:30 Spraying graffiti was so fun😂👍
Shenmue 1 and 2 were great. I would love for a developer to come along and take them with the unfinished/unmade 3 and turn them into 1 huge game for PS4.
that would be the shit
I already consider Shenmue and Shenmue 2 as one game, since they're pretty much identical in teamrs of graphics, gameplay and control
It was one of the first games of its type, and for a mystery likely the best.
with the shit I meant it would be awesome :)
TheMole2005 Okay, must have a different sense of what shit means because shit isn't really awesome lol.
never heard the term "this is the shit"? many people use that in order to say how awesome something is or would be
Toy commander was a badass multiplayer game. As well as a challenging single.
Toy Commander was awesome.
It basically turned my imagination into a video game
toy commander was the best thing I've ever played
My favorite was Tech Romancer
