I just rehomed Tilly from Daybreaks RGT in Solihull. She is the loveliest dog in the world. I feel blessed that she has come into our lives. She's on a month's trial but is already settling in fabulously xxx
Unfortunately greyhounds don't seem to get the respect they deserve after racing anywhere but someplace are certainly worse than others luckily in the UK the retired greyhound trust has made such a great advancement in the care of retired greyhounds a huge leap forward but we still have a long way to go..
Hi aydngames, most places will advise you never to take your retired racer off the lead especially without a muzzle due to chance they may see something and their instinct / training cut in to chase. However we first socialised walker our greyhound with other dogs in a enclosed paddock off the lead and progressed it further and further growing trust, now we can happily let him run off the lead anywhere (away from roads) and it is truly amazing to see him run freely and truly astonishing speed
I am loving this video and that amazing work RGT are doing. After I end my studies and find an apartment and suitable job I would love to adopt a dog. And greyhounds caught my heart. Is there a possibility to adopt them out of UK?
I have a 11 yr old greyhound she is a very serious old dog, she is a grumpy old lady, she has growled at me and my son a few times but my other greyhound 9 out of 10 times she would stand up to stretch she would fart she wasn't a serious dog, she was a funny I miss her.
I just noticed that not only do they have a greyhound rehomed living on a boat but also in a flat. Some RGT branches still refuse to rehome greyhounds in these places even though more and more people are living in such places due to the high cost of housing in the UK.
hi ,well I don´t know, but if you are interested,in ITALY,there are associations that rescue galgos from Spain. Many galgos (greyhounds),in Spain need to be adopted, due to being used for hunting ,and when they are old,or not able to run,the hunters abandon them ,or kill them ,.please,if you consider adoption any time, consider Spain, the italian groups will inform you ,and they bring the galgos to Italy .byeee
You're allowed to take your greyhound off of the lead in public? The place we adopted our greyhound from threatened to take her back if they heard we were letting her off the lead. I wish we could because she's very well trained and loves to run around the front yard. Also, obviously this show is British. Are racing hounds treated better in Britain than in the US before they hit retirement? Greyhound racing in the US has an infamous reputation
The most loveable dogs going
This video is a precious jewel. Thank you so so much for sharing it. Blessings.
they´re very lucky to have this 2 chance, but the families are also lucky to live with these angels .
Thank you for the video. Greyhounds are wonderful pet companion.
Yep. I rescued one from Spain. They are in dire straits in that country. I love my snoopy!
Just be warned, greyhounds are like potato chips: it's very hard to stop after just one :-)

Eating from the other dog's bowl. Haha
Do it ! I can promise he or she will change your life
The tagline "give an angel their wings" is cheesy but very true

Beautiful Video, I would love one but not sure I would be allowed to bring one with me to Italy. :(
And to answer the question of the name change - we changed Tilly's name as she was completely unresponsive to her kennel name :)
would it be okay to adopt a greyhound and change the name of it? or would it take a while for them to respond to the new name?
♥️🐕♥️
