I never get tired of that Marty solo. One of the greatest solos of all time.
the greatest solo of all time just behind randys on mr crowley
The greatest. Period!
for sure

Its insane how dave mustaine can play those riffs while singing high over it
Dave Mustaine: shit Marty’s solo is really good on this one, quick nick hook these jumper cables up to my nuts so I can sing so high you almost don’t notice him

The real Megadeth
Peak for sure. I think Samuelson, Poland, mustaine was equally as real a lineup.
the current one is also amazing actually feels like a band kiko is such a good fit for megadeth
@@caz7202 Big Nope
@@josef2861 explain, kiko play the solos perfectly
my question is.. can kiko create such a great guitar solo like this?
I love Dave’s voice idgaf what anyone says
Is it technically perfect? No
But it has the edge rasp and anger plus a melodic side a lot of the thrash bands just don’t have.
90-99 was his peak
80s u could tell he tried to make it a background thing but the 90s he gained some confidence in it. Sure the rasp was screamed out by the early 2000s but tshf had some hints of it and up until 13 he sti had some range and nowadays the rasp is back just a lot deeper
Yep it's perfect for their music. And his range is amazing.
Love his voice then, not now
I agree his vocals from Rust in Peace al the way to The world needs a hero were his prime years when it comes to vocals.
Fuck it, I’m gonna say it
Dave Mustaine > James Hetfield
Youthanasia is his peak record as a singer / songeriter to me
At their absolute peak here - wish I could have seen this lineup live 😍
Done for me in 94' ! the second concert I've done ! Hard to switch to another stuff after that !!

I did, and it was glorious !
No doubt.
I’m not joking when I say that these guys knew the importance of hair conditioner. You don’t see that kind of care taken in a lot of bands. Split ends detracting from music all over the shop 😂
I envy Dave's hair in this clip

I've always said that Friedman has the best hair Metal 👌😁
They were born women. That's why they have such hair.
You Guys dont know john myung do you?
Dave's hair of the golden era
Lion
Golden fuzzy heroin era yellow
I'm hypnotized not only by Marty's solo, but by his beautiful fluffy hair...!
Mustaine's vocals were really impressive back in the day! Many people are complaining about his voice, but his voice is actually really unique.
And it's really not easy to sing and play guitar like this.
You surely cannot compare his voice to Hetfield's voice, because James voice was actually better back then, but that doesn't mean that Dave's voice is bad. It's not like that
is when u done it thousands of times lol
A lot of people talk shit about his voice , but it’s awesome and unique, like Joey Ramone and Lemmy Kilmeister

Best Megadeth lineup.. Marty such an iconic guitarist!
Mustaine, Fridman, Effelson, and Mensa - what a FUCKING LINE UP this was. Unbelievable amounts of talent all in one stage. Unbelievable.
Best Megadeth lineup imo
*Menza. "Mensa" is the place where you eat lunch at school.
I'll never understand why people can't grasp the fact that the soloist should be the only focus for the camera during a solo.
I imagine the majority of editors aren't guitarists and therefore have no clue.
I just recently bought the megadeth war chest for £55 just for this concert dvd above 360p and now this is out. I don’t know how to feel

Best performance I’ve seen of this song. Marty Friedman was absolutely the best thing to ever happen to Megadeth. He and Dave created a magnificent synergy.
Definitely a peak for Daves vocals. Best Megdeth line up of all time....just my opinion.
The most handsome Mega Metal lineup🤗.

Why are we not talking more about that delicious snare sound from Nick??
the most hairy band ever...
This will always be the greatest Megadeth lineup, possibly my favourite Marty solo as well, alongside Lucretia
Lucretia is the deep cut
Lucretia and Tornado were always my favourites... but of late I really dig Marty's main solo in Five Magics... it also has Dave's best ever solo... and the riffs are just killer!
@@eccehomer8182 Five Magics is insane, definitely the last section just pure speed but also agility definitely my favourite guitar duo
I always liked Marty's solos in Hangar 18 better. They are unique in metal (or rock) history.
Remastering the masterpiece. You did something good for mankind.
Megadeth without Marty and David isn't megadeth anymore
I Totaly agree with you, they were the best members though Dave was the founding bassplayer.
If you talking about the original bandmembers that really was Megadeth were Gar Samuelson and Chris Poland...but yeah Dave Mustaine replaced many members and now they are basicly a trio cause they dont really have a bassist anymore just a touring bassist. I think is time to just stop. I always prefer the older stuff with Megadeth.
I broke my leg at Janus Landing in FL listening to Dave play this. Huge fat dude in the pit tried to bounce off me and my leg snapped.
Holy shit man that must’ve hurt

To anyone saying Dave is a bad guitarist, man who the fuck plays that riff while singing, without hitting a bad note. Dave is fucking special!
MEGADETH was always such a ridiculously tight band - yes way more technical than Metallica ever could have been without Dave, lol tho they had their day in the sun also
MEGADETH forever
mustaine riffs at the background are honestly insane.

mustaines hair looks like it smells amazing the conditioning of his hair is just fascinating in this, he looks so incredibly majestic playing singing and everything

One of the greatest solos of History of Metal live and recording studios
This morning I made the call
The one that ends it all
Hanging up, I wanted to cry
But dammit, this well's gone dry
Not for the money, not for the fame
Not for the power, just no more games
But now I'm safe in the eye of the tornado
I can't replace the lies, that let a 1000 days go
No more living trapped inside
In her way I'll surely die
In the eye of the tornado, blow me away
You'll grow to loathe my name
You'll hate me just the same
You won't need your breath
And soon you'll meet your death
Not from the years, not from the use
Not from the tears, just self abuse
But now I'm safe in the eye of the tornado
I can't replace the lies, that let a 1000 days go
No more living trapped inside
In her way I'll surely die
In the eye of the tornado, blow me away
Who's to say, what's for me to say
Who's to say, what's for me to breath
Who's to say, what's for me to do
Cause a big nothing it'll be for me
The land of opportunity
The golden chance for me
My future looks so bright
Now I think I've seen the light
Can't say what's on my mind
Can't do what I really feel
In this bed I made for me
Is where I sleep, I really feel
I warn you of the fate
Proven true to late
Your tongue twist perverse
Come drink now of this curse
And now I fill your brain
I spin you round again
My poison fills your head
As I tuck you into bed
You feel my fingertips
You won't forget my lips
You'll feel my cold breath
It's the kiss of death
Thank you

I feel really lucky to have seen Megadeth in concert with this lineup. Seen a lot of metal bands live, but until now, theirs remain the best ever. RIP Nick Menza, incredible drummer.
Возможно, лучшая песня за всю карьеру и их историю.
I have to admit, this one is probably their best EVER in the career💜
Dave's voice in this time period, perfection
Love how they are playing it so fast...makes it better than the studio version
I've been a HUGE Metallica supporter and thought of Megadeath, and Dave as a shitty, knock off band. I'm however pleased to say this song, along with Symphony and Holy Wars are better than many of Metallicas song. Now i can appreciate both incredibly good bands.
Its really hard to pick between Marty Friedman and Dave Murray
HTF does Dave play that arpeggio and sing at the same time? Blows my mind.
Miss that day ,when trash metal almost everywhere.. and Megadeth with their masterpiece albums
"Should we zoom on Marty's hands during the solo?"
---"Nah, just flicker the cameras back and forth until the viewer siezes."
Marty Friedman is irreplaceable!!!
Man, Marty’s picking style has tendinitis written all over it. I have no idea how he plays like that and avoids arm injury.
His picking style is pretty reminiscent of gypsy jazz guitarists. The motion comes from rotating the arm. The wrist stays stationary.
@@ShredST bem observado 😯
Marty said in a interview when he was recording rust in peace he played with a injury and didn’t tell anyone about it due to thinking he might lose his spot. In the early live footage you can see Marty did struggle with some fast rhythm parts but after that he played just as fast as dave
Marty and Dave, the best hair in the history of metal.
They are so tight in this performance. Just on the money.

You can see the guy producing this video doesn't understand the product he is crafting: when there is a musician playing a solo, what you want to see is the musician playing the instrument, and not from behind because it is cool, you want to see the hands or whatever the musician is using

There was something so "right" about this lineup. I guess I'm being a bit nostalgic but with Marty and Nick there seemed to be some special chemistry. BTW I've seen both Kiko and Chris Broderick play with Megadeth and they both have done an awesome job.
Hey Ian, I had to reply to your comment because I, as an old metalhead, so often see people in these comment sections of other videos being quite disparaging to musicians or other fans.
I read your comment and saw, that for a wonderful change you were stating an opinion and still being polite about it!! That is genuinely refreshing to see, it's entirely possible to have an opinion on the soshull meejurs and not only be polite and respectful, but not to enforce it on others.
I saw a meme a while back with Mike Tyson saying "Social media made y'all way too comfortable with disrespecting eachother without getting a punch in the mouth". Considering how many times he's been hit in the head, I think he's a pretty smart bloke these days
