Many great lead guitarists that have passed through Megadeth's ranks have played this solo, and well. But none can do it quite like Marty.

You can tell it was a new song at the time by the distinct lack of an explosion of cheering when the opening riff started.
Marty uses a lot of upstrokes in his solos which make them much harder for other guitarists to play....that being said Broderick does a great job..but...ever heard the saying imitated but never duplicated?
Only one man that would've been able to duplicate this solo perfectly, Jason Becker.
He does alot of pre-bends, which just sound plain cool. It's a bend, but different :)
Man I loved Metallica, but this solo alone by Friedman blew any solo I've heard from them!

Man, I have seen them a lot, but never this line up. I would have been old enough, but I do not believe they ever came anywhere close to where I was living in the 90's. If I had a time machine, and could go see two concerts, it would be Jimi Hendrix, and this Megadeth line up.

nick menza is by far hands down, master drummer.
Was there, loved it then loving it now.
Without a doubt their best lineup.
Man this is so much faster than the studio version, and Dave still sings it perfectly while riffing tight and nailing every note.
And Marty is just on fire here. They had a good sound guy, because you can tell everyone could hear great and bailed everything flawlessly.
God, I would have paid good money to be front row for this instead of watching the video. Seriously, the camera cuts are wild; someone was on more coke than Gar Samuelson and Chris Poland combined.
My dad got to meet Marty while serving a church mission in Arizona. He got his handbook signed by Marty.

Yeah Marty is sick but he doesnt play the solo as clearly as people are saying he does. Its quite apparent if you're listening to it closely I still thing Broderick plays it better overall, hes cleaner emphasises certain notes and bends better for a harder hitting solo that doesnt sound like it's trying to be rushed and so doesnt make little mistakes
