Marty uses a lot of upstrokes in his solos which make them much harder for other guitarists to play....that being said Broderick does a great job..but...ever heard the saying imitated but never duplicated?
Man, I have seen them a lot, but never this line up. I would have been old enough, but I do not believe they ever came anywhere close to where I was living in the 90's. If I had a time machine, and could go see two concerts, it would be Jimi Hendrix, and this Megadeth line up.
Saw em on Youthanasia. Yup. They were that good. Shit man who knew Mustaine would implode his best shot at overtaking Metallica? For the money. For the fame. He couldn't let Menza and Friedman (Now Ellifson) have as much credit as he for Megadeth's success. What an abomination not to re unite this lineup for the anniversary of his greatest piece of work. All over money.
Lyrics: This morning I made the call The one that ends it all Hanging up, I wanted to cry But dammit, this well's gone dry Not for the money, not for the fame Not for the power, just no more games But now I'm safe in the eye of the tornado I can't replace the lies, that let a 1000 days go No more living trapped inside In her way I'll surely die In the eye of the tornado, blow me away You'll grow to loathe my name You'll hate me just the same You won't need your breath And soon you'll meet your death Not from the years, not from the use Not from the tears, just self abuse Who's to say, what's for me to say...be...do Cause a big nothing it'll be for me The land of opportunity The golden chance for me My future looks so bright Now I think I've seen the light Can't say what's on my mind Can't do what I really feel In this bed I made for me Is where I sleep, I really feel I warn you of the fate Proven true to late Your tongue twist perverse Come drink now of this curse And now I fill your brain I spin you round again My poison fills your head As I tuck you into bed You feel my fingertips You won't forget my lips You'll feel my cold breath It's the kiss of death
Man this is so much faster than the studio version, and Dave still sings it perfectly while riffing tight and nailing every note. And Marty is just on fire here. They had a good sound guy, because you can tell everyone could hear great and bailed everything flawlessly. God, I would have paid good money to be front row for this instead of watching the video. Seriously, the camera cuts are wild; someone was on more coke than Gar Samuelson and Chris Poland combined.
I swear i don't know a human can play this lead and sing at the same time. Dave mustaine pure metal god. The riffs. The solos. Chris poland is keeping up. This is and always will be Megadeth in there prime. There best lineup ever. Mustaine Poland Samuelson Friedman
Yeah Marty is sick but he doesnt play the solo as clearly as people are saying he does. Its quite apparent if you're listening to it closely I still thing Broderick plays it better overall, hes cleaner emphasises certain notes and bends better for a harder hitting solo that doesnt sound like it's trying to be rushed and so doesnt make little mistakes
Today I dreamt with Dave haha, no homo. In my dream I asked him to play this song and when he gonna start the clock alarm woke me up :(. Well i guess this is how its gonna be sound hehe
3:07 the reason we are all here
You're totally right!! lol!
Better than studio
That's exactly what i was about to post in the comments :D :D

Dave is such a beast on guitar. Seriously talented
Now, if he could only wrestle with Bacchus and win...
Now throw singing in there….ridiculous.
This was the BEST lineup Megadeth ever had. \m/ \m/ ROCK ON!!!!!!!
Agreed
Yes..Agreed
They almost had it back, but too bad Dave wouldn't agree to change style to Babymetal as Friedman requested
@@Songfugel wtf is babymetal??

Many great lead guitarists that have passed through Megadeth's ranks have played this solo, and well. But none can do it quite like Marty.
He wrote the solo
RIP, master drummer Nick.
one of the best solo that ever came out of a guitar
Dave is singing very well here.
Yes, concerning his live standards
It's a little bad here. His voice is Best at awekening in 2001. For me..
Absolutely agree
Well, yeah... It was 30 years ago.

RIP drum master
You can tell it was a new song at the time by the distinct lack of an explosion of cheering when the opening riff started.
This was on the countdown to extinction tour, I was there. Rust in peace had been out a number of years when they played here in 92.
Marty uses a lot of upstrokes in his solos which make them much harder for other guitarists to play....that being said Broderick does a great job..but...ever heard the saying imitated but never duplicated?
Only one man that would've been able to duplicate this solo perfectly, Jason Becker.
He does alot of pre-bends, which just sound plain cool. It's a bend, but different :)
Megadeth on top of their game here, such a monster song on the drums (R.I.P Nick) 🤘🏼❤️
That solo without doubt goes into the top 10 metal/rock solos of all time.
Man I loved Metallica, but this solo alone by Friedman blew any solo I've heard from them!
Gabriel Flores this solo gives me goose bumps. Its incredible. Friedman was so good
AJFA solos?
RTL solos?
Marty’s solos are far more complex and melodic than any wah-ridden crap that Hammet can ever fathom.
Yeah it blew me away
My dad got to meet Marty while serving a church mission in Arizona. He got his handbook signed by Marty.
This is the pinnacle of megadeth imo. Best line up
Mass congregation of fucking talent and heavy in one place - beautiful song and performance. Everything about this is perfect

I have seen live 4 times this Megadeth lineup in the 90's.
Wonderful
mARTY IS A MSTER PLAYER, I HAVE LEARNED SO MUCH OF HIS MUSIC, WHAT I REALLY WANT IS HIS HAIR #HAIRGOALS
Good effing god Marty played the solo so freaking cleanly in this video.
And fast.
The drums sound so good!
Classic Megadeth.
Menza: maquina, Ellefson: maquina, Mustaine: maquina, Friedman: maquina...Megadeth 1992: una banda de maquinas extraordinarias, Rust in Peace!
nick menza is by far hands down, master drummer.
Without a doubt their best lineup.

This morning I made the call
The one that ends it all
Hanging up, I wanted to cry
But dammit, this well's gone dry
Not for the money, not for the fame
Not for the power, just no more games
But now I'm safe in the eye of the tornado

No more living trapped inside
In her way I'll surely die
In the eye of the tornado, blow me away
You'll grow to loathe my name
You'll hate me just the same
You won't need your breath
And soon you'll meet your death
Not from the years, not from the use
Not from the tears, just self abuse
Who's to say, what's for me to say...be...do
Cause a big nothing it'll be for me
The land of opportunity
The golden chance for me
My future looks so bright
Now I think I've seen the light
Can't say what's on my mind
Can't do what I really feel
In this bed I made for me
Is where I sleep, I really feel
I warn you of the fate
Proven true to late
Your tongue twist perverse
Come drink now of this curse
And now I fill your brain
I spin you round again
My poison fills your head
As I tuck you into bed
You feel my fingertips
You won't forget my lips
You'll feel my cold breath
It's the kiss of death
Basically the mood for Berserk 359
Thanks for the upload, the original was missing these past 2 months and I was going nuts as I must watch this at least 2-3 times daily.

Hey Gen-Z...if you don't like megadeth...just watch them live in this era.....
Was there, loved it then loving it now.
El mejor solo de la Historia he dicho!
This lineup were so tight live! I miss Marty and Dave! I'm glad I saw them on this tour!
David Ellefson, one of the best bassists of the history. Megadeth shouldn't be part of the big 4 without Ellefson
That drum fill to finish the song 🤘
Best line up for sure! And unlike Metallica you can hear the bass!!
...you can hear Metallica's bass, you're just judging an entire career on one album.
@@Hellwyck exactly
u only cant hear the bass in AJFA
It’s pretty low in the mix in puppets and rtl to be honest.

R.I.P Nick Menza =/
a master of drum

This song is just too good... and a really good live version of it
THE BEST LIST: MUSTAINE, MENZA, ELLEFSON, FRIEDMAN... YEAHp!!! great performance.. great sound.. GREAT POWER.... !!! COOL
i wish Megadave went back to Jackson guitars, Dean must be treating him well to stay with them this long.
Oh hell yeah they are. I guarantee he's being better treated by Dean than Jackson and LTD combined.
i personally wish he stayed with BC Rich! imagine Rust in peace with those beasts!!
gibson : hi there!
He's with Gibson now, as of 2023/24, lolol.
Dave looks so god damn cool here. With his fluffy hair over his shoulders
i think i have watched this concert so many times i dont even get ads
Nobody plays this solo quite like Marty .. just something magical about how he plays it.
what nick menza did on that show was out of the world, so clean and powerfull drummer, really missed...
Best megadeth live i ever scene by every aspect not just the tornado and the solo and the marty stuff
Damn, they were such a well-oiled machine at this point, such tight playing.
Best Megadeth song in my opinion
Hammersmith apollo, has to be ine of their best sets with the greatest megadeth lineup

Bro he wrote it
Marty Friedman is literally Guitar God.
Was here just to see if dave down picks or alternate picks but stayed for the whole song
Marty is on a other plane to other metal guitarists 🤘🏼
Broderick is also very amazing :) both are good
Fuckin.. Damn !.. 🤯.. so dialed.. 🤘
The sound quality… shit, just the quality in general… Wow!!
When are we gonna get a Dave Mustaine biographical movie from child hood to fame and beyond?
Lars was nothing if We compared him to Menza!

Dave in rare form here 🔥❤
Keep the camera on Marty during the solo for crying out loud!!!
Good thing Dave got fired from Metallica. I love his work. What a strong voice.
The guitar is crying when solo
Po, imaginando um cover dos g'n'r dessa música ia ficar maneira demais tbm!
