  • Tabequache off-road trail near Grand Junction may be one of these Colorado hidden gems that you need to know about. This trail has views, obstacles, camping, and end with what feels and looks like a well known Moab trail. This full trail guide shows you what to expect.
    Channel Members have access to our filming schedule and I want you to be in the videos! The Black Bear crew gets additional easy to edit videos but offer more up to date info on trails (since guides take a while to put together). The Holy Cross crew gets more say in what videos get edited for the channel (video credits and early looks at Trail Guide edits). / @coloradomallcrawlers
    About Us:
    Colorado Mallcrawlers is a channel that aims to show incredible off-road trails and our adventures to get through them with stock or your not so typical off-road vehicles. I’ll be at work when this goes live, but I’d love to hear your thoughts on this video. It was a quick edit. Also, I’ll likely be traveling back to TN more this year so this was my first test of a quick edit trail guide. How’d you like it? Is it missing stuff of our previous edits?
    We’re working on getting faster with making these because we keep getting further and further behind on editing and a guide sitting on a hard drive doesn’t help you know what you’re up against. Drew is working on the Overland trip from Marble to Aspen. I’m working on quick edits (3-4 days to film and edit) and my first longer time edits will be Mount Blanca (needs narration), Hidden Canyon (multiple trails covered so it’ll be a lot to organize), and the Liberty’s Horse Creek guide (in progress, but no info on it so I’m coming up with it on my own).

    Think the tank is a left over from oil and gas exploration. Lots of trails (not saying these trails specifically) are there from those efforts. Always appreciate your videos and trail guides you have certainly grown in the quality. I really get a lot from your stuff as I went all I. To get my Jeep and it is super helpful to see someone run trails I’m interested in without mods (that I can’t afford)

    • @coloradomallcrawlers
      @coloradomallcrawlers  ปีที่แล้ว

      I appreciate that! I’m going to have to upgrade the Rubicon’s armor as Jeep has skimped on the JL’s stock protection (vs JK stock protection), but I won’t change the suspension and I’ll likely run Kenda Klevers (cheap but good) when these tires wear out. Working on getting better with each upload… right now I’m trying to improve as a host as that helps speed up the edits if I can get the info filmed vs narrating. Thanks for watching!

    Oh man, hopefully only something minor on the Liberty! I had a 2003 Liberty, transmission blew at 130k miles, which I don't think is a ton. My sisters 2002 Liberty had her engine blow at around the same mileage. Both those vehicles only saw on-road driving and had regular maintenance. Hopefully yours stands up a bit better :) I'm rocking a 2019 Cherokee TH now, so far so good!

    • @coloradomallcrawlers
      @coloradomallcrawlers  ปีที่แล้ว

      This one has 180k, but the engine seems nearly perfect. Transmission is pretty good too. I think it’s a sensor and maybe a faulty relay, but I’m no mechanic. I do expect to replace the motor in the future tho… I’ll hopefully be able to do that.

    Looks like this channel is not mainly for AWD "Mallcrawler" vehicle friendly trails. Looks like this trail is challenging to my 4x4 vehicle (4Runner little modified like full skids, sliders). 😊😊😊

    • @coloradomallcrawlers
      @coloradomallcrawlers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My main goal is to cover all the trails I can so you all can see cool places to take yours. Right now, my only working vehicle is the rubicon. It’s stock so most people think it can’t wheel. I don’t use lockers unless needed to show the non-rubicons that the trail is good for them. My liberty is my budget wheeler and it’s currently stock (but still with the mechanic). It’s 29in tires can do most of the trails I’ve covered, but it needs armor and I’ll likely give it a little lift and 30s or 31s. Next video will talk about how I’m using my work bonus irresponsibly by likely buying another vehicle. I’m all over the place… I think I want a vehicle that can tow the camper, but then I’m also like I want a renegade.

    • @off-roadingexplained8417
      @off-roadingexplained8417 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Cherokee Trailhawk has full skids and can also even have rock sliders from the factory. It's sort of AWD and 4wd to be honest . Not many AWD have rear locker AND low range.

    • @LionRunner
      @LionRunner 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@off-roadingexplained8417 my friend vehicles are like Honda Pilot, CR-V, Highlander, Subaru Ascent, etc.. I cannot take them on 4x4trails. So I was looking for places I can take them safely. For example Switzerland trail rated as easy but didn't realize its not the same for everyone till I invite my friend. So if there is content for AWD crossovers I can get a better idea.

    • @coloradomallcrawlers
      @coloradomallcrawlers  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m trying to make videos better so I can show the easy trails. It’s tricky as people don’t like watching easy trail guides so I needed to learn to make the videos more entertaining to be worth watching. I’m going to film two easy trails with the liberty soon, they’ll be short, but hopefully entertaining. We’ll see, but I think the ideas behind the videos are good. If people don’t watch the videos, then the time I take off to film them was not worth it. Plus I like hard trails myself. Of note, I’m a big proponent of having a vehicle with a low range… my 05 liberty sells for about $2500 and with tires, it cost about $3200 to do Hurricane Creek (Horse Creek and Dick’s Creek), all somewhat hard trails. I have not had time to edit horse or Dick’s, but the liberty had no issues and it was a blast as people didn’t think I should be there.

    • @LionRunner
      @LionRunner 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@coloradomallcrawlers yeah you are correct. A Rav4 going on Rampart range road will give no views vs challenge its AWD system at let say Jhonny park which might not be too risky but definitely damage expected. And then on camera it may look like a gravel road.

    Hi, Dewey. It's Karl and The Old Goat again! The OLd Goat sez that even with stock suspension, your Liberty should easily make it through this trail especially if your willing to let the rocker panels take a whack or two. He also says that the 3.5 inch lift from Rocky Road Outfitters makes the Liberty more than equal to the Rubicon! (Truly I told him to behave). Sorry about the overheat problem. Have you confirmed that both the mechanical and electrical radiator fans are working? Probably a defective thermostat or clogged radiator. Sent you an email aboutt my club running Radical Hill in July. Please let me know if you want to go. The Old Goat and I are really looking forward to it. Remember the first time we met when The Old Goat was climbing the steep slope on the east side of Kingston Peak? Take care my friend. Karl and The Old Goat.

    • @coloradomallcrawlers
      @coloradomallcrawlers  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Karl, of course I remember. I thought I replied to your email? Well, I’ll try, but I’m at the mercy of my job. I’m about to lay-off to wheel moab altho it’s going to hurt me financially and attendance points wise. My job is kinda crazy. Both fans were working, but it’s still with the mechanic… I’m not even sure he’s looked at it yet since it’s not a critical repair compared to his other customers. I was going to start messing with it when it was here, but I was using my vacation to road trip here. I’m now out of vacation so I’m not sure what I’m going to do. I really want to wheel it here tho. The rubicon is a beast, but it’s way overpowered for so many Colorado/Utah trails. The liberty is a beast that would be challenge for this independent suspension noob to master… that sounds like so much fun!

      @@coloradomallcrawlers Hi, Dewey. I have found that the secret to IFS is to not ever go full throttle to the point the whells start hoplping or slamming side to side while climbing. If the steering wheel suddenly doesn't want to easily turn like normal, then stop and see what is going on. Most liikely a tire is bound up and you might bend or break the track bar. You can break anything as you know by being lead footed and ham fisted and hormonal. The great thing is that your front differential is way up out of the way. The front skid plate will be the lowest point on the stock unlifted Liberty. I make sure that if I have to clear a large rock or obstruction in the trail to steer so the rock passes to one side or the other of the driveline missing the eninge oil and transmission pan. The unibody will be much more tolerant of crunching down on to things. Just look at The Old Goat's battered rockers and you'll see what I'm talking about. Please stay in touch. And if something changes between now and mid July when we do Radical Hill, let me know. Karl and The Old Goat
