- this is a 100% accurate representation on my experience with the game awards, honestly I didn't even watch them I just got in when they nominated AC and that's it cause this year didn't felt really strong to me.
I loved games like RE4 and MH Bomb Rush Cyberphunk but Armored core deserved better imo

Agreed, I'm just happy and hopeful that AC would get at least a category reward. I'm perfectly fine with it not getting GOTY, but damn my bias to this series and genre
I mean it was so stacked this year, and that’s a great thing. AC6 was the game that ended my year and it was pretty damn good. Glad to be a raven again.

New Raven here. AC6 is my first foray into AC. Honestly, I'm really impressed with AC6. I was so hoping my newfound fix would receive an award. Happy to see it do so. Only just starting to work on all S Rank. The game just feels good to play. Best game to me in what feels like years

Some of spider man’s nomination should’ve been for AC6. I have bo idea why such a poor excuse of a game like that got so many nominations. Kinda like with death stranding. It’s a pile of garbage but somehow made it into every possible category.

@@GrievyRZ I don't bother watching awards shows since they're basically just a popularity contest, but I heard this year's game awards was practically just an advertising spot where they kinda let an awards show happen in between, rushing people and not giving them time for their speeches, etc.
This was one of the best years for game releases in decades, but that doesn't mean everything else was great. It was one of the worst years for developers in decades with the amount of people laid off from their jobs, for example.

wish i could say the same i was happy for ac6 but had to slog through the rest hoping for a titanfall 3 announcement.
My first ever mecha game which should have recieved GOTY.
From soft literally brought a dead genre to life, made such an amazing set of characters. Made me play the game 3 times. And these guys speedran its award while only nominating it once.
Idc if its a niche game, good games should be recognized and given the praise it deserves even if no one plays that shit. Its a game award and not a popuarity award for gods sake.
you can say the same with bg3 though when was a isometric rpg ever been nominated for anything. I love AC6 and From software but I wanted BG3 to win instead I do think it should've been nominated over SM2 or wonder.

I wholly agree, I’ve slept on mostly any game except for Fires of Rubicon. Phenomenally fun. Wish some of the other titles were on Steam, I’d like to play them after I’m done with the 6th installment
not for me and I'm okay with that. it is a big game in Japan and a lot of Japanese players joined steam because of it, but outside it is very niche.

TGA wasn't _that_ bad. There were some pretty cool announcements this year. For example, Jet Set Radio's actually coming back. Plus, Dragon Ball Sparking Zero looks pretty cool (assuming Bandai doesn't screw that up.) Then there's the upcoming Mecha Break.
this year they released Bomb rush cyberphunk and it was my second favorite game this year sooo much fun, seeing JSR 3 on the making it just made me happier

Mario and Zelda are fine but there’s no way in hell they deserved a GOTY nomination. Zelda added fortnite building and glue to the same map. Expanded on some feature sure but that’s nothing. Mario was just another side scroller Mario fun as shit yes but why does a single power up added Mario side scroller get it when AC6 came in as another new gen armored core game which meant everything got updated. I am baby raging hard and ducking riding he’s but you cannot tell me when another “new age version game” like AC6 comes out it doesn’t get the recognition because people could beat a helicopter.
Armored Core 6 was great, it was immensely above average, but Baldur's Gate 3 got what it deserved too.
Honestly happy enough Armored Core won an award to begin with, it really flew under the radar this year.

It doesn't feel like a win to me. The other action games looks pretty trash. It feels like they were used as fodder/filler in this category to please fromsoft fans/ac vets.
Remnant 2 is pretty good, but it’s the only one among the nominees to actually have a chance against AC6, so yeah I think the others are just fodders. Some people really liked Hi Fi rush, but come on a cringe af game like that is an ant before our ACs.
