China will fight to the very end to stop Taiwan independence: Defence minister | Shangri-La Dialogue

  • China will "fight to the very end" to stop Taiwan from declaring independence, Chinese Defence Minister Wei Fenghe said in a speech at the Shangri-La Dialogue on Sunday (Jun 12).
"We will fight at all cost and we will fight to the very end. This is the only choice for China," General Wei said.
His speech came a day after US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said China was becoming "more coercive and aggressive" in its approach to its territorial claims in the region.
On Sunday, General Wei said Beijing firmly rejects the US' "smearing accusations and even threats" against China.
Global affairs should be handled through consultation by all stakeholders instead of being dictated by just one country or a small group of countries, he said, adding: "No one or no group of countries should impose its will on others or bully others under the guise of multilateralism."
General Wei said the United States' Indo-Pacific strategy is an attempt to build an exclusive small group in the name of a free and open Pacific to "hijack countries in the region and target one specific country". It is a strategy to "create conflict and confrontation to contain and encircle others", he said.

55:46 The translation is totally misleading. Minister Wei said that we found a lot of Indian personnels and weapons on Chinese side. This means Indian troops had crossed over to the Chinese controlled LAC. But the translator said we have found a lot of weapons owned by Indian side and they have sent people to Chinese side territory. A lot of Indian media and influencers are spreading these mistranslated sentences now.

Based on past experience, China (or any other country) should know by now that, the results of any "talking" with the US can be effective ONLY for the day of the "talk". (Example: In the morning, US supports the One-China policy; in the afternoon, US sells strategic weapons to Taiwan).

So if the US didn't allow their own people to declare independence, why do they support the independence of Taiwan?
When Catalonia voted to be independent a few years ago, the Spanish gov. arrested the leaders and put them in jail for 13 years.

One China policy includes US Taiwan relation act, written into US law - Public Law 96-8.
The US Taiwan Relations Act is the continuation of the US -Taiwan, Republic of China Defence Alliance Treaty.
China has always been an ally of the US.
Article 5 of the US Taiwan relation act specifically stated that the US shall provide all necessary weapons, equipments, training and all things necessary for the effective defence of Taiwan RoC .
The President of the US - POTUS has reiterated many times in the last year.
The US will come to the defence of Taiwan as it is the Duty of the US of A as the US of A has made commitments to do so.

The failure of the domestic political struggle in the United States has spilled over. I look back at the various policies of Biden in the early days of his presidency, whether it is the buildbackbetter or the infrastructure bill. Now the response in the United States is extremely dull, and there are basically no relevant positive reports in political, atlantic and other newspapers. There is good reason to believe that the Biden administration will do whatever it takes to boost the approval rating in order to compete against the Republicans in the 2022 congressional elections, even though the current Biden approval rating continues to be sluggish. Last month's figure stood at 36 percent, arguably the slump since 21 years of poor and failed troop withdrawal from Afghanistan. At the same time, there is reason to believe that Biden's unscrupulous support for Ukraine is also a means of voting. After all, in its election manifesto, Ukraine and China were all secondary issues that were brushed over. Now this method of trying to attract votes by hoping for a diplomatic victory is not very effective, or ineffective in my opinion. Since February, Biden's approval rating may have been hovering around 35-40 like his dick. In addition, the rise in oil prices in April has further pushed up inflation within the United States, although this inflation is The direct consequence of the 21-year-old Biden administration’s massive helicopter coin offering, I remember sending about 23 percent of GDP, which is extremely exaggerated anyway. Now the Biden administration estimates that Ukraine's means can also be used on the Taiwan issue to contain and weaken China. It has to be said that this almost toxic political system that is all about votes is terrifying. Doing so by the Biden administration is tantamount to directly pulling the trigger of World War III. If our country wants to realize the reunification of the motherland and win the war of reunification, it can be said that under the intervention of the Biden administration, it can be said that it must hit the Americans head-on, such as at least the island of Hawaii. If the Americans insist on intervening in another country’s affairs Unified business. I have confidence in the Biden administration's omnipotence and no moral bottom line. After all, the bombing of Belgrade in 1999 was strongly promoted by the respected Biden Congressman. In addition, there are bad racial discrimination. Speech records, discrimination against the poverty of retired American soldiers. To say that the Biden administration will think for the sake of mankind and peace, I think it is better to believe that the sow will climb the tree and Biden will run.

      想在中美关系上拱火以拉动支持率与自焚无异。中国不是俄罗斯,台湾问题也不是乌克兰问题。俄罗斯视乌克兰为战略威胁,中国大陆视台湾为主权问题和中国内政外交的核心问题。想在台湾问题上蹭热度容易把自己磨秃噜皮。

    • @OasisBlue888
      @OasisBlue888 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LiveForPanda 是这样的,然而奈何美国国内的政策惯性导致他们达成一致共识台湾问题不再是赛里斯的小蛋蛋。我认为这种转变跟中美双方在第一岛链内军力对比的极大颠倒有根本关系。96年台海导弹危机的时候,美国派了一个尼米兹航空母舰战斗群过来就直接压住了大陆的军事斗争意志。然而现在如果统一战争爆发,美帝的航空母舰战斗群,我记得根据一些军事专家的研究应该会在最多关岛(二岛链)以外地区部署。除此之外,美国国防部还是哪个部门我记得是专门搞过好几次中国大陆的军事力量发展报道,其中提到大陆导弹投送能力随着时间的演化逐渐向外推进的历史图。我记得似乎18年是在海岸线1000公里内有1000+导弹的投送能力。近日,布林肯这个小流氓自己的对华政策也在说要改变中国外部环境,加强台湾的自我防卫能力而闭口不提出兵台海,尽管被多次问到是否出兵。我有理由相信台湾问题已经成为了拖住美国一部分外交力量的,大陆占据主动的地位的事务。
      总的来说,台湾问题我认为还是更像美帝决策层认为的威胁手段之一,来胁迫大陆帮助美帝降低通胀。我之前做过一个计算,从去年3月开始,美国的CPI累积已经增加100%,物价翻倍了。而物价翻倍这点也可以在不少由在美国生活的朋友证实。物价上涨我看美国国内分析是成了拜登政府支持率持续低迷的主要原因,最新数据显示拜登支持率似乎是36%,低于同期的特朗普。为了下半年的国会选举赢得属于民主党的胜利,拜登现在我看不少政治分析属于热锅上的蚂蚁状态。一方面对华要降关税来帮助降低美国国内物价,但是另一方面共和党人绝对不会允许拜登政府就此取消掉共和党人的政绩,否则就会大书特书进一步拉低拜登政府的支持率。除此之外,俄乌冲突的爆发至今,由于美国和欧洲施加的能源禁令,已经上天,最新数据国际原油价格破百,开战前虽然也在上涨,至90美元的水平。美国国内汽油价格现在已经上涨到1.37美元一公升,相比于3月份已经上涨近17%。对比来看中国现价9.67人民币一公升相比于三月份上涨幅度为11%,一个石油进口大国竟然比石油出口大国石油价格上涨幅度还小。我相信至少会有相当一部分的美国国内民众会抱怨拜登政府的执政能力低下。其实仔细回想一下,拜登自上任以来,雄心勃勃地想要推动很多国内政治改革,然而至今是已经杳无音讯基本可以视为失败。有关美国的新闻已经从去年的基建法案,家庭救助法案,就业法案等等国内政治议题转移到台湾问题,俄乌冲突等事务上。美国国内的家庭开支由于通胀原因持续上涨,拜登近日甚至要求民众减少电力,食物等消耗。一个超级大国能这样也是没谁了。我反正记得当初新冠爆发初期还是去年德州暴雪时期,州政府的人放话说政府不欠你的,每个人自己照顾好自己。我就寻思,政府不欠人民的那人民就欠政府的吗?还要为了通胀自己降低生活品质。不过美国肯定也有人来洗这就是人民自己管好自己,通胀上涨就是上涨,政府不会去管尽管是自己捅的篓子但还是要民众自己解决。

Most of the questions asked by these Western journalists are naive and ridiculous, and I believe that the vast majority of Chinese feel this way.
Rather than saying that the Chinese Defense Minister is answering questions, it is better to say that the Chinese Defense Minister is popularizing some basic common sense for these Westerners.
Chinese Defense Minister Wei Fenghe said that Taiwan is China's Taiwan, and the reunification of the motherland must be realized absolutely. If someone dares to split Taiwan from China, the Chinese army will definitely fight to the end, no matter the cost. This is China's only choice.

    • @chinahamyku6583
      @chinahamyku6583 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Today in the 21st century, any Western country should recognize the following reality when discussing and formulating China policy.
China has all the industrial categories in the United Nations Industrial Classification and has become a country with a complete industrial system. China is the only country with all industrial categories in the United Nations Industrial Classification. With 39 industrial categories, 191 medium categories and 525 sub categories, it has become the only country in the world with all industrial categories in the United Nations Industrial Classification. 1758 products have the largest market share in the world, of which nearly 40-50% of Chinese goods have no substitutes in
      the world.
Today in the 21st century, everyone understands China's global status and strength, and everyone understands the global influence of China's economy. China is the world's second largest economy (in 2017, China was already the world's largest economy in terms of purchasing power parity), the world's largest trading nation and the largest foreign exchange reserve country, and China is one of 135 countries in the world. largest economic and trade partner country. In 2021, China has become the world's largest consumer goods market.
In short, China remains the engine of global economic development. The United States is very clear that China's GDP is 10 times that of Russia, and China's comprehensive national strength is also higher than that of Russia. In the latest high-tech fields of the 21st century, including 5G, AI artificial intelligence, quantum technology, robots, new energy vehicles, drones and other fields , China is already leading or keeping pace with the United States.

Majority of what this man is saying is blatant lies, do your own research.... I mean seriously do your own research!
I completely stand with Taiwan but let me make it clearer... I completely stand with freedom, not just Taiwan. I completely disagree with the CCP and how they run China. I completely disagree with how they treat others, especially the innocent Uighur population living within China... You know the forced labor camps and worst of all their ''re-education camps'' aka concentration camps where an estimated of a million plus of Uighurs are physically abused, raped, some are occasionally murdered as for the others... forced into following the CCPs views 'or else' some still being children; 16 years old, some being elderly well into their 70's. Then you can view the recent Shanghai covid lockdowns and forcing people into Covid camps even if just a single person in a community test positive, even if they didn't test positive themselves or have already overcome it, often breaking down people's doors to take them to the camps, killing their pets occasionally, ran-sacking and destroying their homes and robbing them occasionally. People in China, all providences are forced to take a PCR test aka a covid test every 48-72 hours but before this they must take an at home test and send proof that they aren't sick (ridiculous right???), if they missed it or refused to do it, they will be fined upwards of 80+dollars and possibly be placed in prison, people are also paying for these tests even in the rural places where they're making less than $100 a month. Many Chinese farmers can't tend to their live stock or plant/yield their crops which is also really affecting China in the whole, and perhaps the rest of us. Then you have the Tiananmen Square Massacre in 1989 where they killed at least a thousand if not tens of thousands of innocent protestors most being young college students. Then you have them forcing Hongkong into their way of doing things and following their beliefs. But don't forget how everything a Chinese citizen does is watched from their daily routines to what they do on their electronics, everything is censored just like North Korea not allowing much outside knowledge to come in freely and definitely no freedom of speech if it goes against anything the CCP believes in, literally deleting their posts and at times kidnapping people either to be 'permanently removed' or physically harassed/fined into never doing it again. Look into Chinas debt trap diplomacy, look into how many flights they cross Taiwan's airspace threatening Taiwan (daily, sometimes 20+ times a day) look into how much illegal fishing they do off the coast of other countries because they over fished their own waters and polluted their water supplies but by doing so, they're bullying these other countries and at times ramming their boats into civilian's vessels. I mean seriously the list can go on.. but my main point here is I completely support freedom and no one wants anyone in the world to suffer under the rule of the CCP. If Taiwan wants freedom, allow them to have it. I fully support Taiwan's decision and I fully believe we should support anyone that is being attacked just because of their want for freedom and independence while not by being hostile to others. It won't end at Taiwan, it'll continue on over to Korea, Japan, Africa and all of Asia eventually. We need to stand up for what's right and protect people in need, yes even if we must go to war with China.
Just so everyone understands the real government of China was forced out in the1900's between 1921-1949, which they relocated to Taiwan because of a civil war. The real Chinese government is Taiwan... the current government of ''China'' is the CCP, Chinese Communist Party aka a group of thugs, dishonest and terrible humans. China has only reached it's level of sucess because of stolen technologies from hacking and spying, and foreign investment... Taiwan, aka the real China has earned everything from being a well ran country with intelligent and hard working citizens. I encourage you to do some serious research on this topic before making any of your own opinions on the matter. The CCP is truly as bad, if not worse than North Korea just with way more money and influence around the world because of their new found wealth, aka from foreign investments and stolen technologies.
I can promise you the worst thing you or the world could ever do is allow the CCP to rule over Taiwan, let alone Asia. No one wants war, and I hope we never have to go back to any form of world war again, but if China does decide to invade, we must protect Taiwan, therefore go to war with China and any of their Allies that decides to back them.
Freedom doesn't come cheap, we value and love our freedom here and would absolutely do anything to keep it. We're all humans, sharing this planet. But most importantly we need to defend our brothers and sisters, especially the innocent ones who may need it.
Let's all hope for world peace and hope everything works out in the end.

The truth of the matter is that politicians in the West and the US including Australia (Australia which is psychologically totally confused and suffering from an identity crisis as it thinks it is "west" when the reality is that it is geographically part of Asia!!!), are still stuck in their mental capacity and attitude in the glory days of "empire" 5-6 centuries ago.
They may have learned to wear Gucci suits nowadays but nothing else seem to have evolved in their psyche and consciousness from their barbarian days. Instead of recognising their sordid past and history , they celebrate their delusions like "Thanksgiving Day" which the Native American Indians rightly and clearly remember and commemorate as their "Day of Mourning" being the beginning of the murdering, genociding, plundering, stealing, raping and ultimately, OCCUPATION , of their land uninvited, without any due compensation even till today.
But these thieves and robbers take a lot of pride in the stories they tell themselves and sell to the world how great their "founding" was!!! Same stories with the "Empire" where the sun never sets. Australia with the Aborigines. New Zealand with their Maoris. The African continent with all those Europeans...........it goes on and on. This is the 21st Century , for chrissakes! Grow up and come out of that sick and primitive mentality of never ending desire to dominate, control and subjugate.
The zillions of dollars spent on wars and "defence" and the other zillions being hoarded by the 1% is more than sufficient to provide every human being on the planet a very decent and never anything wanting life on this planet with the healthiest and cleanest environment. And we pride ourselves as being the only creature on earth with the intelligence, consciousness and capacity of free will and choice. And these sick politicians choose never ending squabbles, tensions and wars!!! Go figure.

From 1964 to 1973, the U.S. dropped more than two million tons of ordnance on Laos during 580,000 bombing missions-equal to a planeload of bombs every 8 minutes, 24-hours a day, for 9 years - making Laos the most heavily bombed country per capita in history. The bombings were part of the U.S. Secret War in Laos to support the Royal Lao Government against the Pathet Lao and to interdict traffic along the Ho Chi Minh Trail. The bombings destroyed many villages and displaced hundreds of thousands of Lao civilians during the nine-year period.
Five years ago, the US forces, using the fake intelligence of a staged video by “White Helmets” as evidence, conducted the so-called “most precise air strikes in history” in Syria, killing more than 1,600 innocent civilians. In recent years, the international community has been calling for investigations into the killing of civilians in the US’ overseas military operations. On Syria alone, the Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Syrian Arab Republic pointed out several times in its reports in September 2019 and February 2021 that the US failed to distinguish military targets from civilians in its air strikes in Syria, which gravely violates international humanitarian law and may constitute war crimes. However, the US government has been turning a deaf ear to all this.
According to reports, over the past nearly two decades, the US conducted over 90,000 air strikes in countries including Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria, which may have killed up to 48,000 civilians. But the US military time and again covered up the facts and refused to apologize, admit its crimes or hold the perpetrators accountable. It did everything possible to evade its responsibilities.
On the drone strike of civilians in Afghanistan, a Pentagon spokesperson said openly in December 2021 that no US soldiers will face disciplinary action over it. The US media also disclosed at the end of last year that from 2014 to 2019, the US military turned its guns on farmers in the middle of harvest, children playing in the streets, families fleeing the fighting and villagers taking shelter in buildings. These disastrous crimes were deliberately concealed and whitewashed. US media revealed last year that according to the US military’s own confidential assessments of more than 1,300 reports of civilian casualties, civilian casualties in US air strikes have been “significantly undercounted”. Larry Lewis, a Director at the Center for Naval Analyses (CNA) of the US said that on average at least one incident of civilian harm has happened every week since 9/11.
There has been an overall pattern of negligence with regard to the US government on the issue of civilian harm. The US has also obstructed the International Criminal Court’s investigations into its war crimes in Afghanistan.  Every human life, regardless of nationality, race, religion or values, is equal and precious. The US should earnestly respond to the strong call of the international community, conduct a credible, independent and impartial investigation into civilian casualties caused by US air strikes, and hold the people concerned accountable.

55:45 part of the translation messed up on general Wei's remark on sino-indian border issue (Galwan skirmish). This is a breif translation of missing part: "I'm the defense miniter when this event took place, and I'm very clear about the cause and result of this conflict. The many Idian POWs and military equipments we captured are inside the Chinese side of line-of-control. Not on the Indian side. (one sentense missing here) As the message I sent to the defense minister of India, the Chinese side is not the one who should be responsible to the outbreak of this event. On the contrary, we have been continueing to ease the tension of border conflict between the two nations with our greatest efforts. Now, I can tell you. The situiation / tension of the border conflict is moving toward the good direction. The direct contact is already avoided on part of the border near Pangong lake (with some buffer zone). And there is another region, the two sides are still under negotiation, already on the 15th round ..." the second translator picked up properly after this.

Why today US look like not clever anymore?
When China is strong and prosperous, the products made by China will benefit the world and US. For example, when US import the "products made by China", this will help to bring down the inflation in US and US people can buy cheap and good products made by China.
Now, China is a modern country. US should cooperate with China more for mutual benefits and this is good for both countries and the world.
If you are a businessman, do you like war? So If a country wants to make a business with another country, do you think the war is the wise option?
Finally, nobody and no countries will benefit from it if World War III happens.
When World War II happens, the people in most countries are suffering the most.

Many Chinese farmers can't tend to their livestock or plant/yield their crops which is also really affecting China in the whole, and perhaps the rest of us. Jimmy Carter The only U.S. president to complete his term without war, military attack or occupation has called the United States “the most warlike nation in the history of the world.” The former president says peaceful China "ahead of us in almost every way."Jimmy Carter Took Call About China 'China Has Not Wasted a Single Penny on War'
Former President Jimmy Carter told congregation, and said the commander in chief was worried that Beijing had outpaced its global rivals.
Carter, 94, said usa was worried that "China is getting ahead of us," and suggested the president was right to be concerned.
He told the congregation that feared China's growing economic strength. Economic modeling indicated that China would overtake the U.S. as the world's strongest economy by 2030, and many experts have said that we were already living in what has been dubbed the "Chinese Century."
Carter-who normalized diplomatic relations between Washington and Beijing in 1979-suggested that China's breakneck growth had been facilitated by sensible investment and buoyed by peace.
"Since 1979, do you know how many times China has been at war with anybody?" Carter asked. "None. And we have stayed at war." The U.S., he noted, has only enjoyed 16 years of peace in its 242-year history. Carter said. This is, he said, because of America's tendency to force other nations to "adopt our American principles."

And so far they have shown their middle finger to China!
China has been threatening Taiwan for a LONG TIME and has NEVER agreed to merge peacefully. China is an authoritarian country where citizens DO NOT have any meaningful freedom. China has had problems and fought with ALL its neighbors (and yes, including Russia with which it fought a war in 1969)!!
They just took a map of the South China Sea and drew NINE DASHES on the map - TOTALLY arbitrarily - and then claimed ALL the area within those nine dashes to be theirs.
      How sweet!!!
Then the UN Arbitral tribunal's ruling said China to get lost. Of course, China being a bully and against ANY rule of law, did not accept the ruling. No surprise here!!

Many Chinese farmers can't tend to their livestock or plant/yield their crops which is also really affecting China in the whole, and perhaps the rest of us.
China under failed Xi Jingping policy is making blunders with such aggresive wolf warrior statements. China has lost its Deng Xiaoping touch to bide time until very strong. From computing to space tech to medicine to even paper China relies on US and western technology. It still relies on the US dollar and financial system. To take such confrontational approach with threats will not end well for China. I really wish China the best and want to see it succeeded the west but it needs benevolence and smarts not such crude chest thumping. It will make all countries wary of China and help the west. Already, in the last two years China did silly military actions against India losing 40 plus brave soldiers and then now not doing anything. Either keep such huge countries your friend or crush them to show the world you are a power. Not be weak and yet try adventure to lose face. None will respect then.

Did Americans vote for independence and got it without bloodshed? Did the British Empire fight with the US to stop them from becoming independent? History tells us the Declaration of Independence can not come without bloodshed. Taiwan has never declared independence because she knows she can not defeat China. Has Taiwanese voted to change the Constitution of the Republic of China to Republic of Taiwan? NO! That would be the first step, but Taiwanese wouldn't even dare. The Civil War hasn't ended! The ROC has just as much responsibilities as the PRC to preserve the peace and stability of the Taiwan Strait.
