Man i remember teaching myself this song over a deployment, put banjo tuners on my guitar for it the whole nine yards. Then i got hurt and was separated and wasnt able to touch tge guitar for a few years. Now i couldnt play this to save my life. Good job. Makes me really wanna bust out my instrument again even if my fretting hand isnt strong enough to do more than 10 or 15 minutes even after 8 years.

I have to admit, I don't recall ever hearing the original version of this song before (I'm going to listen to it after I've posted this comment). We're talking about the technical proficiency of an already written piece of music we subjectively enjoy and agree rocks!.... that said: on every level Jon Gomm plays it objectively better. We could, however, look at the tab in all it's accuracy- plot the mistakes made in this video verses the mistakes Jon Gomm made (0) and have a clear, objective, certain idea of what is 'better'. without any subjectivity.

Trouble1528 There was an indication. Mary said she will purchase it. That is illegal. He cannot profit off of someone's work without their explicit permission and usually agreed royalties. He's pretty good. He can't sing along with it, which is the trick. The instrumental takes maybe 2-3 days of work to get down. Getting to the point of singing takes 10x that long and having all that movement be second nature.

Trouble1528 I can. Jon Gomm can play it, since he wrote it. In fact he also sings at the same time, adding an extra level of difficulty. This guy plays very well, but lacks the emotion that Jon is able to portray. He also embellishes a little on it to add his own style, but that doesn't make it any more impressive. If this guy was able to sing and play it this well....it would be much more impressive.
