The hunter deaths were pretty violent in Ice Age, but I'm surprised that the modding community has added dismemberment as a way to die. I haven't played these game in years. Last time I played these games was back in the late 90's early 2000's. I'm happy to see that there's a community that appreciates these games!
What an awesome revamp of an ice age classic! I grew up on the mobile ports, but still have a very similar history with the yeti to your own: being very afraid to hunt it, only to end up underwhelmed by its skittishness (even after the update which was supposed to fix this) And your headcanon about the default yeti being a subadult makes a lot of sense. It would also explain why they’re so skittish and can’t swim because they’re likely on their own for the first time.
If THIS YETI was in the original Ice Age game and could still swim - hell, it would have become another animal because of which he began to hunt with fear. As I used to tell you, my first phobia was wolves and diatrims, because it was these first animals that killed me when I first entered the game. Once I managed to see a brontothere and after about 10 seconds I was scared by the barking of a wolf, the cry of a hunter and how the animal was gnawing. It happened with the diatryma after the third run, when I was running after the boar, but was caught by surprise with this damned bird (it’s funny that diatrymas can swim, but wolves, smilodon and bears cannot) I, too, was wondering when I was a child what that strange silhouette was on the menu and what kind of animal it was. And when I found out and saw - yes, the Yeti is creepy, frightening and incredibly fast And this Yeti, judging by the video, is cooler, scarier and more dangerous. I count as much as 5 times. If it was the Yeti in the game, he might have become my terror for hunting. You can’t escape anywhere, but he can even get into the water, even suddenly reach a rock)) Still, it's an amazing job and I'd love to try hunting with this monster!
The fact that you called the newer yetis as “older more experienced yetis” caught my attention since I was thinking the same thing like a yeti that has been through the toughest parts of the arctic sector and even could tie into far north where the yeti has battled against yutyrannus and cryolophosaurus and have found a way to intimidate and ward off would be attackers I believe that the newer yetis since they pound their chests with one arm maybe it could have been injury related like a yutyrannus bite or the arm was broken in the past by a more cryptic creature say the dry nodus lake wendigo and the yeti managed to throw it off and escape the scene before the wendigo could recover and hunt it down again and over time the yeti could have learned what it takes to battle some of the planet’s toughest combatants or even apex predators like the Tyrannosaurus rex in some cases
I love how you conduct your videos, very unique dialogue mixed with cool visual scenes! The Yeti is awesome, and the whooping sounds of the mobile port are horrifying!

Bro just chomped your head like a toddler would with his older brother's soldier toy. 😂And with how the og Yeti just slammed you onto the floor like a kid throwing a temper tantrum, I'm making a new headcanon that Yetis see hunters as toys for them to play with, only to get angered when they are suddenly pelted with bullets. It's both cute and scary when you think about it.
Great review Saurian. The only thing I don’t like about the new yeti is that it seems to lanky. Especially the arms. I feel a yeti rampaging around the snow would have larger muscles. Other than that and the swim animation, it’s great!
7:43 The Redesign Yeti calls sounds like a constipated bull 7:55 the Mobile Port Yeti calls sound brings more of the Sasquatch feeling 8:09 and the PSP Port Yeti calls sounds like someone mixed bull and boar sounds to make realistic dinosaur sounds
Love this new design, it’s an upgrade to the original in every way. Though the only thing I dislike is its kill animation. It’s much too simple for a mythical monster. I’d much prefer an upgrade to the original animation where it mercilessly flings the Hunter around like a ragdoll then ripping him apart piece by piece effortlessly then eating him afterwards making it essentially a even more horrifying giant Chimpanzee.

For those of you who were horrified or wondering, chimps and orangutans eat the heads of smaller primates forst when they capture them. The brain is very nutritious to them and has a lot of protein. Yes, there was a documented case where an orangutan smacked a slow loris (a small species of primate) to the ground and proceeded to eat it head first. (I'm gonna off topic, but I like the Yeti design) since the Carnivores games take place on FMMUV-32's Northern, Eastern, and Western sections, what would the South look like? I'd imagine the animals from the Mobile Ports and Cityscape replace everything else as huntable and ambient roles in DinoHunt Corp's hunting ranges
I believe the whole Eastern/Western/Central sector stuff is just fanon personally. We know the Cenozoic creatures occupy the planet's polar regions whereas the dinosaurs live closer to the equator, but that's all we have confirmed from the OG Carnivores trilogy's lore (at least as related in the manuals' introductions...remember when games came with manuals?).
Gotta say, that new kill animation is honestly a downgrade. The yeti thrashing you against the ground felt more fitting and not as comical as it just, chewing your head with no resistance and little to no sound.
It’s definitely not as bombastic as the original, but if this is supposed to be a more aged Yeti, I think it would make sense that it couldn’t thrash things around with such energy anymore
I grew up with the mobile versions Yeti. Honestly, I preferred that one over this one. Maybe its because im used to it now, but the MP Yeti is more terrifying than this Mod

I still see the Yeti as a sort of polar-dinosauroid (the Dale Russel kind), possibly a living, non-sentient relative of The Ancients.

That was half the point of Triassic, being south of the other three sectors, while Mandibles was even more south of that.
