Hello everyone! Sorry about the lack of activity across all platforms lately, I've just moved into a new apartment with a new job so things are quite busy, but I hope you guys enjoy the first episode in a new series! Which Carnivores game is your favorite?
I think the maps of carnivores 2 are good. I mean all the maps look completely different from one another and do have some impressive landmarks. And there's at least a little bit of mystery to them. The first map has the abandoned Outpost. Fort ciskin has the abandoned Fort destroyed by a tyrannosaurus and also a Stone Henge. And Manya jungle does have the dinosaur wall and even an aliens Easter egg (pun not really intended) and they are definitely better than the ice Age Maps. As much as I like snow themed Maps The Ice Age maps are still really not that great. But I am more interested in the C1 Maps. and I do wish they were ported over to carnivores Dinosaur Hunter.
It’s insane that the community of Carnivores has stuck around for so long. So many communities died with their games, but for 22 years, the Carnivores community has been alive and well.
I’d definitely agree with most of this list, except I’d switch Ice Age and Cityscape. Mostly because I was able to beat Ice Age without getting a headache halfway through and never touching it again.
3 years too late but dude thank you for showing me the absolute masterpiece that the mobiles carnivores evolved into from what they were way back in like 2013. I was legitimately blown away by the absolute improvement, will 100% buy it. There are actual steam games with far less quality to offer than this
You covered just about all of the bases, both with regard to the games and the community, Garrett, but there's one thing you left out: You. I'm not trying to give you a big head or call you the Markiplier of Carnivores (especially since I'M the TH-cam canon's Discount Markiplier, lol) or anything, but you are one of the best things about Carnivores. You have brought Carnivores to the attention of so many people who'd otherwise never even know the franchise exists. You have put absurd amounts of work into videos that both you and the community enjoy. You have acted as a middleman between Andrey and the community when no one else could. You uploaded a video today that brightened up the day of someone going through a really rough time in life: me. You did all of these things and more ALL while it isn't your job. You may get some ad revenue off of doing this, but it isn't your career. Quitting your job and just doing this at the moment would probably be financial suicide. Yet, in spite of all of the practical reasons not to, you continue to do all of these things and more for the community. That's why YOU are ranked number one on the list of the greatest things about the Carnivores franchise.
Words cannot describe the absolute joy I feel every time I get an e-mail titled "Saurian Target just uploaded a video". I dig the new series format; it's definitely got a lot of potential with all the official and mod content we have (and still keep getting!), and I'm sure you'll tap into that potential in due time. As for this list, I can definitely feel the struggle between the first two places- it is a very close call. Carnivores 1 has the better assets, while its sequel opened the Pandora's box that got us all here, 20 years later, aiming our rifles at big-breasted, anime-eyed turkeysauruses. If we judge these game as games alone, I'd definitely pick C1 as the top pick; It is a bit sad, however, to think the first one was really the best and from there it only went downhill. Good thing we're here to pick up the slack. Also, congratulations on the new job and apartment! I hope you'll be able to adjust quickly and eke out a life of joy and comfort; and of course, many more Carnivores videos to come.
Thank you as always for the kind words and encouragement, good sir! I always look forward to your inspired thoughts. I definitely agree that - on their own - the first game is still the best (and doubly agree on how sad that is), but given what this franchise has become, I just couldn't ignore the impact people like you have had on it over the years. As for the new series, I do believe you'll find the next entry quite enjoyable...
I've always been a sucker for Reborn, as I'm not very good at the original games and mods and Reborn is much more casual and immersive (for the most part), but I still agree with your rankings and why you put them in the order you did. Great video as always!
Already liked. Always good content from saurian! Can't wait to hear your opinions! Thank you for the continued creation of content for this community. #1 will always be Carnivores 1 in my book. An eternal classic! The rest are just a bonus!
I can't give my definitive list since I have yet to play Cityscape, BUT my list is otherwise the same as yours for the reasons you gave. I still have a soft spot for Ice Age, though admitedly that comes off more as it coming off as being unrelated to the other Carnivores games with its much more realistic (comparatively) animal designs and feeling more like you were brought back in time to the Ice Age to hunt, rather than travel to an alien world. A fantastic video and not a single point to argue on, keep up the amazing work.
I just found your channel since I recently re-downloaded Carnivores DH and Ice Age, on my phone. I remember Carnivores beeing one of my first video games ever, my dad bought it and Ice Age when I was a little kid to hunt on my very very old computer. I have lots of memories and I am really glad to find your channel, subscribbed and soon whatching all of your related videos!
That's awesome, my guy, the whole reason I did this channel was to reconnect people with a simpler time in their lives and relive some old memories. Hope you have a fun trip down memory lane!

Controversial opinion, but if the mobile ports had PC controls and modding, they would be the best Carnivores games we've ever gotten. Which is kinda why a Steam port would be revolutionary. Too bad it ain't gonna happen for a while
I haven't played any of the mods, so for me, Carnivores 2 is the best, one big change I actually liked was removing the single kill spots, it makes killing stronger dinosaurs seem more daunting, trying yo kill a Ceratosaurus with a pistol was a trip and a half. But challenging myself to run a gauntlet and hunt all the dinosaurs in a single hunt was a unique and welcome improvement in capability over the original (to me)
Even though I've only played the port and the original demo, I kinda think Carnivores Ice Age is slighty more interesting than the originals. Thats only because dinosaur hunting has now been done to death, where as ice animals are still relatively unique. I know most ice age animals are just furrier versions of modern animals, and I do agree that the game has its issues and the maps are more boring, but I like the diversity it brings to the table.
I really have to agree with Ice Age, because even when I played the mobile port of it on my kindle, it was definitely not as interesting as Dinosaur Hunter was. As for Cityscape, it’s honestly one of those games where it’s good, but if you’re a fan of the series it’s a part of, it’s just might not bear the torch right.
My first entry into carnivores was Carnivores City Scape. A friend at the internship in the natural history museum gave me City Scape, Ice Age and one and two. I started with City Scape, because it was faster installed, while I waited for One to be finished. I loved the idea of playing a Coelophysis. But Two was my absolute favorite. Many dinosaurs and a damn good atmossphere. I tryied all games in the following years. Sadly, my new laptop has no CD entry, so I have to play the mobile ports. Sad too, that no digital client like steam or microsoft store, not even the damn fortnite shop offers Carnivores 1 and 2 in digital download form. I want to try the mods, triassic is awesome. I mean, the animals are the same, that stands in our museum. But no, nobody wants to sell that games...
One was my favourite, but I remember pluging in headphones and playing for hour's and still getting jump scares when I least expect it, nostalgia though and my mate's hated the game because they expected it to be action full stop one shot kills stuff, I guess I had more patients with the game and grown to love the feeling of not feeling safe but still taking the risks for a new species to admire in the gallery.
Been trying to catch up on your videos today so sorry for such a late response. I often felt Carnivores 2 was the best because it offered more, such as more dinosaurs and larger areas with more weapons and such and had I guess better gameplay. And I think the graphics engine was better but I don't know. Of course I do like the original because like you said it started it all, and I like its overall theme and design and ideas of the lore. Ice Age I liked because it was about an Ice Age scenario, and Cityscape was nice because it was a change of graphics and gameplay and it reminded me of the graphics for Primal Prey and was from the early 2000s which I think have a unique feel. I also like the mobile ports because they are like updated versions from the original sequels and allow those original related games to live on in modern game devices. The HD and Reborn versions I respect with the newer graphics and such but I wish they added more to it. Great video!
Saurian Target I really like your Hard Work with Mods and I would like to see them in the Mobile Version! Wish the Developer would add these Dinosaurs and other stuff!!!

Awesome video. I played the original carnivores to death when I came out. The love of the game caused me to run RPG games set in 1936 on an island that contained dinosaurs. I even found the disclaimer and used it for the game. I didn't even realise it was still a thing, so I have just paused the video long enough to go and buy tye new one fir my console. Time for some updated nostalgia!
Help, this introduced me into the series, and I just finished carnivores+, and it was a blast, so I went to get 2+, and it worked and everything, but whenever I walk or swim, there's a horrible overplayed noise, and if it press the windows button, it's literally ear rape, anyone know how to fix this?
i honestly want to give 1 and 2 a try but of the mobile ports and reborn i personally like reborn the most it's such a shame that it was abandoned after release it honestly would've been cool to at least get carnivores 2 maps (since those are more on the same size scale) and a few more dinosaurs and also because i have played reborn for a total of 70 hours and i still haven't gotten bored of it although that'll eventually happen imagine if reborn had mod support
very late comment, but the first one (1998) ive played at a friends house and i was hooked, dinosours seemed so "cool" to me at that age. later he gave me the game as a birthday present (i think he secretly was afraid to play it or something). great memories man, thank you for this list!
Funny that after the original, Ice Age is my favorite, I think it was the one I played the most! Used to play 'em with my dad back then... wish I could get Ice Age on steam...
weirdly enough though, cityscape having the dinosaurs be first person inadvertently gave them the best controls out of any playable dinosaur games out there.
I know im late but, here is my list: 5. Original carnivores 1 and 2... I never really played them on my computer, only fan made variants, and i only even put them on this list because the concept is very clear. 4. Carnivores ice age, original, same story, i just like ice 3. Carnivores Ice Age Mobile.... This game, i love it, i love the maps, and the creatures, my only issue with it is there is to small of a variety of creatures, and the same weapons, just a repainted rifle, i do love the concept, and it has alot of potential. 2. Carnivores Dinosaur Hunter Mobile I LOVE this game, so much variety of maps, dinosaurs, and easter eggs, it just doesn’t get as much attention to updates as it needs, on top of that, it gets dull quick, but it was the carnivores game i grew up with, and therefore, a favorite of mine. 1. Reboots... My favorite is the reboots, mainly because the graphics, and how its so beautiful, and now that they are on modern day consoles, the game is getting fixed and the love it needs, I LOVE it! Thats my list 👍 dont sue me.
Since you seem a big fan of Carnavories you should definetly cover other Action forms games they are really intresting . Personal favorite from all of their games would go to "Cryostasis sleep of reason" while vivisector had more polish this one really did something intresting with setting, enviroment and technology. Its buggy but good game with here and there frustating game design in flashbacks.
@@SaurianTarget good to hear, they are kinda Ukrainian ID software in my eyes as they made their own engines that look pretty good or alright for their time. Shame they closed down
How's the C2+ Mod Showcase video coming along? Maybe you could also announce more upcoming mods such as Primal Resort, Primordial, New Appalachia, Grazenlands, Junglescape and Antipodes.
Can't believe that I actually agree with all your picks, Saurian. Ice age is my least favorite of them all (simply because it has no dinosaurs) and Cityscape has the most terrifying atmosphere of the bunch (in my opinion)
My list: 5: Carnivores Cityscape - I hate it cus it taked by Sunstorm actually the cityscape hits too much also it's terryfying, creepy 4: Carnivores Mobile DH/Ice Age - it has no mods, this port haven't been part 2 of the Carnivores DH Mobile it has no part 2, but the original has the 1 which 1998 and 2 which 1999 3: Carnivores Ice Age (2001) - The PC version of Carnivores Ice Age takes 3 because it's really goated at time, most best experience to hunt arctic ancient animals and you can download mod carnivores triassic on it or not i don't remember 2: Carnivores Reborn/Carnivores HD (2013-2015) - its realistic, it gameplay is too cool but i hate one dinosaur in those games, it's the ceratosaurus because it too fast, it's run ot you out of 300 meters so it's actually overrated 1: Carnivores 1/ Carnivores 2 (1998-1999) - it's best because it's original game all tho. If you remember what in game it's was been a Triceratops in carnivores 1, i love triceratops and what about game the carnivores 2 has mods but carnivores 1 has no mods like mobile
Hey surian! My name is kai and I just want to say “thank you” because back in 2017 I had a big surgery (if your wondering what was the surgery was they took a nerve out of my leg into my face) and your videos kept my mind off the surgery and before my surgery I watched one of your videos now I’m thinking of makeing a mod called “carnivores Canada” and I need help makeing it if you could help me or heart this comment it would make my day thank you for helping me with my surgery -kai Age 10
I called it! I called everything in this list. I have at least some common sense. Also, i completely agree with everything on this list, great ranking Saurian. Also also does anyone have carnivore wallpaper? For mobiles
Why don't you like the Carnivores 2 maps? You say the originals are too small so the sequel makes them bigger, then you complain they're more empty. You can't expect alien ruins around every single corner.
I don't want alien ruins around every single corner, I want the maps to be interesting. The maps in Carnivores+ are the perfect example of this: they take the mystery and uniqueness of the Carnivores 1 maps and expand them to Carnivores 2 sizes.
I don't like the maps as much, either. They are too contemporary, and too modern in their geography and flaura. The old ones looked like low poly versions of old dinosaur paintings.
I would personally place the reboots before ice age, the rest of the list i agree on. My only problem with carnivores 2 was that the animals health instead of spots where you had to shoot at
@@SaurianTarget true, at least for me, besides being an interesting and fun mechanic it made the dinosaurs feel more real, you know, you cant take down a big animal with just any shot. I wish i knew how to do it myself so i could add target zones to some of my favourite mods, but when i tried it out i couldnt find any documentation about it. EDIT: I just managed to figure out how to do it, i will start making patches to add target zones to my favourite mods
Hey Saurian, do you ever think we will find a way to mod the remakes? Reborn is the only one that I have, and I too feel like it has amazing potential.
I kinda have to disagree with Ice age being the bottom of the barrel, it has some good things in it that make it better than the reboots. Well at least to me.
Hello everyone! Sorry about the lack of activity across all platforms lately, I've just moved into a new apartment with a new job so things are quite busy, but I hope you guys enjoy the first episode in a new series! Which Carnivores game is your favorite?

5 Carnivores reboots
4 Carnivores Cityscape
3 Carnivores Ice Age
2 Carnivores

very late comment, but the first one (1998) ive played at a friends house and i was hooked, dinosours seemed so "cool" to me at that age. later he gave me the game as a birthday present (i think he secretly was afraid to play it or something). great memories man, thank you for this list!
Funny that after the original, Ice Age is my favorite, I think it was the one I played the most!
Used to play 'em with my dad back then... wish I could get Ice Age on steam...
This game needs more love
I grew up with Carnivores HD (Mobile). I was addicted to it due to how scared I was to even hunt a carnivore
The mobile game is better than the PC versions. Trust me
@@Hydra-dr8hd True
Dude I haven’t seen anything about these games in years. What a trip.
They really need to port Carnivores-Cityscape on Steam and GOG.
Also my favorite is carnivores 2 and I love the allosaurus model.
18:47 I didn't know the planet's peachy population worshiped the moshops
Love this game, I wish there were more weapons and more creatures for you to hunt, like Mayen the Spinosaurus, carnotaurus, or the Ankylosaurus.
Having played Ice Age Mobile, the Bear still runs away when you shoot it or it senses you
I used to love carnivores, im looking to start playing again.
You can download it for free on the abandonware website
@@THNF89 or on youtube, 7z or Rar , no Iso
weirdly enough though, cityscape having the dinosaurs be first person inadvertently gave them the best controls out of any playable dinosaur games out there.
I know im late but, here is my list:
5. Original carnivores 1 and 2...
I never really played them on my computer, only fan made variants, and i only even put them on this list because the concept is very clear.
4. Carnivores ice age, original, same story, i just like ice
3. Carnivores Ice Age Mobile....
This game, i love it, i love the maps, and the creatures, my only issue with it is there is to small of a variety of creatures, and the same weapons, just a repainted rifle, i do love the concept, and it has alot of potential.
2. Carnivores Dinosaur Hunter Mobile
I LOVE this game, so much variety of maps, dinosaurs, and easter eggs, it just doesn’t get as much attention to updates as it needs, on top of that, it gets dull quick, but it was the carnivores game i grew up with, and therefore, a favorite of mine.
I would definitely love to check out some other Action Forms games! They’ve always seemed really unique.
@@SaurianTarget good to hear, they are kinda Ukrainian ID software in my eyes as they made their own engines that look pretty good or alright for their time. Shame they closed down
@@SaurianTarget all of their games are on myabandonware so there is that.
How's the C2+ Mod Showcase video coming along? Maybe you could also announce more upcoming mods such as Primal Resort, Primordial, New Appalachia, Grazenlands, Junglescape and Antipodes.
When you don't need the bell to be early... *Feels* *good*
Now that's dedication!
Can't believe that I actually agree with all your picks, Saurian. Ice age is my least favorite of them all (simply because it has no dinosaurs) and Cityscape has the most terrifying atmosphere of the bunch (in my opinion)
My list:
5: Carnivores Cityscape - I hate it cus it taked by Sunstorm actually the cityscape hits too much also it's terryfying, creepy
4: Carnivores Mobile DH/Ice Age - it has no mods, this port haven't been part 2 of the Carnivores DH Mobile it has no part 2, but the original has the 1 which 1998 and 2 which 1999
3: Carnivores Ice Age (2001) - The PC version of Carnivores Ice Age takes 3 because it's really goated at time, most best experience to hunt arctic ancient animals and you can download mod carnivores triassic on it or not i don't remember
2: Carnivores Reborn/Carnivores HD (2013-2015) - its realistic, it gameplay is too cool but i hate one dinosaur in those games, it's the ceratosaurus because it too fast, it's run ot you out of 300 meters so it's actually overrated
1: Carnivores 1/ Carnivores 2 (1998-1999) - it's best because it's original game all tho. If you remember what in game it's was been a Triceratops in carnivores 1, i love triceratops and what about game the carnivores 2 has mods but carnivores 1 has no mods like mobile
Hey surian! My name is kai and I just want to say “thank you” because back in 2017 I had a big surgery (if your wondering what was the surgery was they took a nerve out of my leg into my face) and your videos kept my mind off the surgery and before my surgery I watched one of your videos now I’m thinking of makeing a mod called “carnivores Canada” and I need help makeing it if you could help me or heart this comment it would make my day thank you for helping me with my surgery

Age 10
I actually did not know cityscape was a carnivores game at first
I called it! I called everything in this list. I have at least some common sense. Also, i completely agree with everything on this list, great ranking Saurian.
Also also does anyone have carnivore wallpaper? For mobiles
Great minds think alike!
@@SaurianTarget*GASP* also, I'm using your Instagram pics as my wallpaper if that's ok
I only have access to the mobile ports so i can't get the full experience of this series but i still wanna know more about it
Then you’re in the right place! 😁
Could you do a video on how to play all of these in 2022?
Saurain target: we unlocked pack hunting!
Carnivores mobile: are we a joke to you
Yes lol
@@GatorMilk In there geography? Have you ever even played maps like Manya Jungle and Vengar Fjords?
@@BackToBackJames Not recently; I've been playing with my 8 foot long t-rex schlong.
At this point you are the final authority
Where do I download these games?
I use to play this game when I was a little kid on the computer holy shit watching this makes me want to play again
I love you saurian, like a friend.
Same, Weslie. Same
Hi, how you get Carnivores 2 & Ice Age works in Widescreen?
"I am not the final authority on all things Carnivores." Saurian Target - Millionth time he says it.
Yeah a ranking list on every Carnivore Games that was made until 2015.
You should make a tier list of the carnivores dinosaurus or games
I would personally place the reboots before ice age, the rest of the list i agree on. My only problem with carnivores 2 was that the animals health instead of spots where you had to shoot at
I know what you mean! It's a good thing modders were able to put the weak zones back in with the mods.
EDIT: I just managed to figure out how to do it, i will start making patches to add target zones to my favourite mods
how do you download these?
For me the original Carnivores will always be #1.
Hard to beat the original!
Hey Saurian, do you ever think we will find a way to mod the remakes? Reborn is the only one that I have, and I too feel like it has amazing potential.
I highly doubt it, but wow would that be amazing if we did.
@@SaurianTarget it's too bad that they let it die
I kinda have to disagree with Ice age being the bottom of the barrel, it has some good things in it that make it better than the reboots. Well at least to me.
3:45 COOL get it?
There is more than one Carnivores game? This is a series. I think I only ever played the original.
Whoa! Yeah, there’s a whole series and a very active modding community.
That one dislike is the President of Tatem Games.
What's your background music?
Wait, what happened to the latest update for the mobile ports?
The new grass and lore updates with the canon-style reskins, happened about a year or so ago.

I'm refering to the 1.8.8(595) thing, it's on android and got released this month
